I just realized that with turret error highlights, I basically forgot what the patch notes said immediately after reading them... sorry about that. 😅
"Level 1" in this context means "things built directly on the hull", so it doesn't apply to turrets built on other turrets.

Finally, what I accidentally did when I started is a feature now
Personally, I'm more stoked for the new rules in permitting defensively oriented geometry around the neck, I'd still keep most of the really round parts of the turret just above and flush with the deck with a narrower neck than the gun itself in my designs. APS Ammo feeder collision meshes being accurate to the ingame model means you can pack them below the deck a lot better too.
Does that mean when you house missiles in the hull, you can use slopes to have them be a bit more protected and jet out the top at a slight angle?
like for example in a 2D drawing;
Top of craft: ____
Hull Slopes: |\ \ / /|
Missile: ^ ^
I'm not sure if the collision detection of slopes is subobject specific or not. Worth a try, though!
If this is what I think it is I can now make ramps for my carriers without spinning part of the deck, letsgoooooooo

Much too hot for that he says. Meanwhile, we just had our warmest day of the week with the afternoon high getting all the way up 20 degrees Fahrenheit, noticeably warmer than the single digit temps we've been having but still not even remotely close to anything resembling warm. Count your blessings Borderwise. Also, the mesh calculation on the ammo input feeders relates to the collision check. It doesn't look any different. It's just checked on its actual size instead of a full 1m block.
Oh, everyone can complain about the weather. It's basically a human right. XD
