Imagine being at a heavy metal concert at the beginning of this invasion?
*insert Ishowspeed closing his eyes meme*
🤘🏽🤘🏽
Dethklok level shit.
Because other genres don’t play sound‽
Any concert is a bad idea during the invasion… unless it’s a mime concert 🤣
@@StoopidSnotI’m pretty sure they were referring to the connection between heavy metal and destruction. Reggae would not be as fitting.
My favorite scene was everyone knowing to be quiet, but still deciding to be clumped up heading to the docks, all the tiny, quiet noises they didnt notice they were making being mixed together to attract the aliens
Humanity has been programmed from the beginning that groups=safety, and to see that be a hinderance was awesome to witness
Yes
Ong, the whole time I was thinking are you all idiots, do you all think the aliens aren't gonna hear when you're traveling in a huge mob like that?
Don’t forget that one person rolling around with a suitcase lol
I got one question I wana hear thoughts. Why did the military when they were going around in helicopters not think to play loud music and head in the opposite direction to the large crowd? Wouldn’t it attract all of the aliens away for a clear path?
@@adamamos1520the plot must plot lol… There was also a scene where a heli was crashed on the ground and I wondered how!?
Cats are EXPERTS in the "not doing what they're told" department.
The scenes with them must've taken A LOT of takes.
they prolly just filmed a cat for a long time lmao
They have some cats who are trained to act, granted it involves ALOT of treats
Nupita did say on Hot Ones that working with the cat was a little annoying for that reason haha
Probably high as fuck
@@mediumvillainthis is my thoughts too
The Cat was an absolute Chad. Just casually wonders into the alien nest without a care in the world and watched stuff unfolding.
I've heard the cat referred to as a Chad. I'm assuming this is a reference to the SNL character being so nonchalant about everything? Or was the Chad character in SNL based on something else?
That cat was ticking me off😂
@@stryfetc1471 Glad im not the only one
I really wanted them to do the logical thing and ditch the cat from the start.
Probably related to Ripleys cat
To be fair, my cat’s initial reaction to everything is to hide under the bed and be quiet, even if it meant the aliens tore me to shreds ☠️
My cats wouldn't make ANY sound at all.
Same 💯 they just stay there very quietly under my couch
A huge dog once ran into the house, and my little idiot went to her spot near the ceiling and watched in silence. Not even a purr left her.
She would kill it in that world. Her name was Ghost because of this. Rest her soul.
Cats only talk to humans and their mom, maybe siblings. They would be the most likely to survive.
Cats are VERY silent and they don't usually "talk" unless it's a prey or their owner. They should have it easy
From fighting demigorgons to aliens. Eddie can't catch a break.
I didn’t even realize that was him till you said it lol it’s the hair
Dont worry. He will learn how to control fire soon

This movie could have been named “a cats tale” and I also agree they missed the opportunity of showing more of DAY ONE chaos.

they really did cause i know it could’ve been so much worse
It sucked compared to the 1st one
I was also thinking "Day 1" meant we get to see the learning curve to be quiet play out.
A HUGE missed opportunity. Instead we got an immediate, here are the monsters and the rules of be quiet. NO build up at all.
@@WelcometoVideoCity But its called day one, that's insane. Clickbait?
@@jjakes5589yes clickbait
true, I was waiting to see the learning curve. and why didnt any other human tell the girl that she is heading the wrong way when she was walking opposite to the crowd?
Because nobody cares about what you're doing in an apocalypse. And she was headed for a pizza shop not the nearest port.@@myp0h
Imagine the military just putting on the loudspeaker at Yankee Stadium, letting all the monsters get there and then dropping a bomb and the movie ends in six minutes. 🤯
Even when the first movie came out..I had kinda wondered why someone hadn't rigged a mine field or some kind of proximity based bomb, and then just set off loud noises to attract the aliens to those traps.
This wouldn't kill them, these aliens survived orbital entry and the explosive force of a meteor impacting the ground. In the first movie there are newspapers in the farm house basement that reads “Not bullets, not bombs! Armor is impenetrable”. The most common bombs, and any explosive device like mines or tank rounds wouldn't do anything
@@josiahsuarez5415 Exactly what I said to my father who also suggested the same thing. These are creatures that survived the initial burn from entering our orbit and the explosive impact of hitting the ground. We only discovered their weakness in Part 2, so all kinds of artillery at the beginning would have been useless except for water.
@@josiahsuarez5415 They can survive blunt impacts because of their armor, yes. But like we saw in 1 & 2, their armor opens up after hearing loud frequencies. If the bomb were to drop while their armor was open, it has potential to kill them.
@@ryatt1 That's true but as we see they rarely expose their internals when threats are around, especially when hunting in frenzy mode and right off the bat of the invasion nobody knew that was one of their weaknesses. The initial concept of the plan doesn't work unless you knew that weakness beforehand and even then would be incredibly hard to pull off.
The whole getting knocked out, 28 days later, thing is a bummer. It skips over what we all were hoping to see.
Yeah, I’m not going to go see it now.
The best part of any apocalypse series/movie is the initial outbreak/disaster. I’m disappointed they skipped over that
there's a new movie coming out in that franchise
@@NixLotus Yep! Resident Evil 1,2,3, 7 and 8, the best parts are the setup. The Walking Dead has a particularly great first episode. TLOU, as a video game has a great setup that pretty much carries the entire game until the great ending as well. There's many, may others that also fit the bill...
I’m here laughing at everyone who gave the first teaser all the hype and praise.. I knew it was going to be a recycled plot when an unknown director was attached.
"The day that everyone learned that to survive you gotta shut up! More people should learn that in life but hey sometimes it takes an apocalypse." - Jeremy Jahns (2024)
This film was definitely a wasted opportunity to explore the beginning of the invasion. Id imagine it would take quite some time for people to figure out that they needed to be quiet in order to survive, and this could result in some pretty terrifying sequences as most peoples' initial reactions would be to panic, scream, run, and make noise. Imagine a scene in Madison Square Garden at a concert or sporting event in which the aliens entered the venue. You think people would be quiet as they rushed for the exits? And even if someone did somehow figure out that the aliens couldnt see and hunted through sound, how would they reliably and efficiently communicate this to a large group of scared, panicking, confused, boneheaded, and stubborn New Yorkers and/or Tourists who didnt all speak the same language?
I thought depicting this mass panic and inevitable confusion was the reason they chose to set the film in a bustling city like NY, which is infamous for being constantly noisy. But as Jeremy said, Sam gets knocked out literally at the beginning of the invasion and wakes up in a shelter with everyone knowing to be quiet. How did they learn and organize so quickly? She couldn't have been knocked out for more than a day since the title implies that the film takes place in a 24 hour period. So the film deliberately skips the initial learning curve almost entirely and therefore misses out on what could've made the movie intriguing in a unique way that the first two weren't.
Personally that was my favorite part of the movie. Finally we have a horror movie where people aren't complete retards. It's something that would be learnt pretty quickly.
SPOILERS
The only time where people were stupid in this movie was the mass exodus scene where all the idiots grouped up to die. Which is something that you say you wanted in the movie. Did you even watch it, or did you skip that part? People went running and screaming as soon as a single alien dropped.
I really like the fact the movie didn't waste our fucking time dealing with idiots who can't understand simple instructions like stay quiet.
I agree. I've already seen people attempt to survive while staying quite
I wanted to see people attempt to survive while having no idea what's going on
@@noturmum7967 they'd die. Pretty quick. Did you not watch the movie?
They do that a little later into the movie. They find out because the military helicopter was announcing the protocol
good to know I'm not weird. I too really thought a major issue they'd have to explore was people finding out they have to be quiet. Can't believe they skipped it.
yes....! exactly same thoughts i have...! how did ppl know they need to be quiet so fast...? and why does ppl just obey to keep quiet when told to...?
Did neither of you actually watch this movie or the beginning of two? They learn pretty quickly that they have to stay quiet, or else they die, what else is there to that? Did you expect to see the main characters screaming their heads off while being miraculously saved by plot armor, until they figured out to shut up?
If you make a noise, you die. Boom, there's you're answer
It is set during a literal attack on the city.
People caught early would die, obvs.
People who _witnessed_ those initial attacks would die.
People who were a biiiit further away and were able to flee......but who would still make noise would die.
The only folk who survived the first few hours/day would be the folk who were already somewhere safe i.e. an appartment and who had been far enough away/lucky enough to get away from the initial attacks.
I'd wager that all those survivors would, then, be hunkered down pretty quietly, at least for a while.
think cause it was such a easy thing to learn. Wnenever a sound was made the monsters would flock to that one sound. person, car, helicopter, boat, etc. Also the military was probably figuring shit out behind the scenes since they were the ones repeating the warning.
Unpopular opinion, this movie was a story of two strangers slowly coming together, through a journey and act of unconditional love, under the disguise of a horror movie.
I completely agree with you ok that😭 horror movie doesn't describe its underlying beauty
i couldnt agree more @Soullyknown777
After the movie I looked at my friend and was like...."This was supposed to scare me, not make me cry."😢
it was rushed and the development pacing was bad,the dynamic couldve been good but it didnt feel organic at all the arc ended right when it started to begin.

No horror here 😂
Not before we get pizza might be the biggest gut punch of a line I’ve heard in a while
Out of context that sounds hilarious.
That's what I was thinking dumb reason to risk ur life😂
as jeremy said, did she really think they'd be open ?
@@radrobd123 I’m pretty sure she knew the pizza place wouldn’t be open, but it being open wasn’t the point. It was about revisiting a place that she had fond memories of before she inevitably dies. I think that the fact that it was burnt down by the time she got there means that everything she wanted to reminisce over is gone. That’s why she was devastated. Not over pizza, but over the restaurant itself being destroyed.
@@SacredHeart18Yep.
Until she finally got to the restaurant she could still hold on to the _hope_ that it would somehow still be there.

Minutes of improv classes that Jahns sacrificed to give us that perfect cat expression was totally worth it and not unacknowledged
Would have been much better if they focused on Djimon's character's story. Love Lupita, but this was a horrible character story, completely unlikable
A quiet place was still my best cinema experience.
Small screen, not many people, everyone stayed quiet. People didn’t even eat whatever food they bought. Buckets of popcorn ware still full by the time credits rolled, Nachos ware untouched. You could have heard a pin drop in that screening.
That first movie was an unforgettable experience in the theater
@bhansen9468 is that supposed to be funny? I'm not even American but the 'hurhur obesity' comments are so tired
I was lucky yesterday with my showing. Very early on into the movie people realized their rustling through food packaging was too loud and everyone remained absolutely dead silent the rest of the way
@@Chibbykins I agree. Its also becoming less true as the rest of the world catches up to us in obesity rates. I read the other day that the US isn't even #1 anymore which is kind of wild

Out of all the impressions Jeremy does, the cat one has been my favourite.
A surprisingly emotional story about two strangers and a cat going to get pizza. I expected a cash grab prequel but was kinda blown away.
it was a beautiful movie, i couldn’t get over how a LOT of scenes were so emotional and really let the audience feel it, great directing (even tho we didn’t get to see some parts like the learning curve) it was beautiful.
Great movie, just didn’t really get the “day one” feel
@@Slow.550 there were no emotional parts. it was cliche most of the time. and how the guy follows the girl is not logical. how the girl smashes the car windows and the creatures cannot get to her? so lame.
It WAS a cash grab---all to bamboozle your ilk.
@@myp0hi think one of the most confusing parts for me was the helicopters drawing the aliens to the safe zone. & that Quiet Place day one was really Quiet place day one for 3 minutes
Yea hate they skipped over how they figured to be quiet. She gets knocked out and boom..she wakes up and being told to shhh. Also the part where Joesph Quinn character went to get the cat with all the Monsters right there. Like how did he get back to the church holding that cat, medicine, and you had to climb down that little later. Like come on, let’s not just skip over main things 🤦🏾♂️
That’s disappointing to hear about them not showing the learning to stay quiet. Especially with the first movie showing New York news papers saying to be quiet it’s noise. Still at least it sounds to be as good a time ad the predecessors.
I loved it. It is better than the sequel in my opinion.
It's kind of instinct, to be stealthy, one must be quiet. I'm sure they saw people getting whisked away who were yelling at others like that lady yelling, "JONATHAN!"😂
The cat impersonation at 3:25 🤣🤣🤣
Cats are predators and very stealthy when they need to be. Not like a Dog who will bark at anything or anyone. Cats are not loud animals typically. They do meow and hiss, but having had both Cats and Dogs my whole life, this wasn't at all out of the realm of believability for me. The Cat is hiding based on insinct and survival. Absolutely works
No. Cat can be stealty for their pray... But in front of unknown animals, they would freak out.
@@bbudimanalqodriI have had cats be quiet in front of unknown animals.
@@Ashbrash1998 ok, I don't think I need to edited it before. But since you asked, it should be unknown but also dangerous (at least for the cat; like bigger animal). And now they met an aliens... You think they would calm facing big weird dangerous monster like that? Even unfamiliat big dog make them freak out.
I don't know but the cat not meowing a single time due to stress throughout the whole movie is kind of a plothole..cats obviously meow and hiss during stressful situations
@@FerdyNabongThey can meow and hiss but not they can be very quiet as well. Not all of them meow or hiss in stressful situations…
Jeremy's cat impersonation should have definitely been the thumbnail for this video.
I know I’m late to this but I just saw this movie yesterday. There were many things that I was hoping would get answered in this movie that the previous two had left open.
But about 3/5 of the way through it hit me. These movies are not about aliens. They are about the human condition. This installment in particular was a drama about life and regret disguised as a horror movie.
That’s it. This franchise is not horror. At all. It’s about being human. And I finally get it now.
Till this day, I still feel A Quiet Place 2 Day 1 opening scene is one of the best sequences in a horror movie ever.
If they don't even cover how they discovered the primary plot point of the first movie, then it's just a rewrite of the first movie. There's nothing new being added.
I saw it last night. They call it “day one” in name but give you exactly what A quiet place 2 is. The thing you want, is exactly what Jeremy says they gloss right over. Bad? No. But nothing new
@@thehalcyonflightand they learned they can't swim to early in the movie
One of many reasons why I'll just wait until it's on Paramount Plus.
I guess they just wanted to reboot the movie with a black protagonist ....
Least with Cloverfield the 2nd movie tried something new that actually worked.
The whole reason I was hyped about this movie was to learn how they figured out to be quiet. Feels like an epic opportunity missed here?

Yes he did say that, congratulations on listening
Sometimes it makes sense to just finish the dumb story instead of dragging it out over multiple episodes. Ugh
honestly it's a huge lesson that many struggle to learn especially these days. People want to argue and bicker over every little thing and record interactions when 9/10 the best way to deal with a karen is to literally ignore them, it pisses them off even more.
Jahns for the Democratic ticket??
They could've done so much more with this movie imo. the script was super weak. The constant talk of pizza, love angle between strangers and the cat being one of the main characters just deflated me and took me out of it. It felt like they were trying super hard to push this movie to be centered around mental health and a forced romance movie. A quite place 1 was more then likley the peak of this franchise. Each movie drops in quality. The 2nd movie was decent, id watch that before i ever watch day one again.
It felt like a cancer patient’s survival story rather than an Alien invasion story! And following just that 1 character arc throughout made this film very dull! They really should have gone with multiple characters storyline .. it is day one, so it would have been brilliant to show how several sets of people deal with this .. like a family with kids .. one with a little baby (which would have been really something) and then one with a mean person trying to prioritise his/her survival over others, maybe also a group of teens who have seen a lot of such kind of situations in pop culture... they could have had soo much fun with day one .. instead we get just one, very sad story arc!
3:25..... head there right meow.

Plenty people were screaming and getting killed, like the one lady yelling jonathan that got whisked away, so yes they did show the learning curve but quickly because people who werent quiet u could see get attacked. Characters were also slowly figuring out what sounds attracted the monsters and which didnt.
Exactly! I totally agree. I felt they did show the learning curve, so I disagree with Jeremy on that one 😊
The whole time I was stressing about the cat and nothing else. Froddo is 1000x more important than anything else
I had to google if Frodo was going to survive because I cared too much about Frodo 😂
i feel like jeremy is underestimating the survival instincts of cats
He did mention being more of a dog person😂
Fun fact. I got in a fist fight during the first movie because the guy sitting next to me was drunk and wouldn't be quiet, so I told him to quiet down, and it went sideways from there.
Oof
Did you win?
I hope you gave him a good SMACK 😊
And you won the fight because you did a BJJ move you saw on UFC and got the key to the city
Hope you beat his ass, my boy.
I missed the first 10 minutes of the film and didn't understand why Lupita was doing what she did until the credits started rolling 😭
I would've loved if they did some more on the military logistical side of things. Like military leaders trying to organize, communicate with other nations around the world. Bases being overrun, carriers just off the coast.
Them trying to figure out what resources they have left and how long they will last, how they will get more.
A count of how many countries have been overrun / estimated dead / estimated creatures.
Hope seeming high the first week, but gradually dwindling as resources dwindle, military becoming less confident.
Honestly, that would be a great book.

Comment of the year so far and I know that from now on I'm gonna be saying it too!
All they needed was one scene, just one where the main character is with a small group of people rushing to get help from some police, or military and nearly everyone is unalived because they're screaming in terror as they run. except her and that's when she realizes the secret. Have it the police officers sees it too, and they die in a dramatic fashion trying to get the message over the CB radio. Slow motion, great music, horrified expression on the heroine's face.... Just one scene.....
Seriously. This movie Had One Job.
Sorry but that literally happens? Just after the bus gets blasted and she’s out in the smoke. People are screaming and getting killed and she doesn’t say anything and survives
I didn't watch the movie I went by the review. :)
@@latenightcoffeeshop7112their point was that the main character should have had a purpose; that purpose being that they were the one who discovered how the aliens hunt and then they end up dying in their sacrifice to let everyone know. Not a prolonged quest to get days-old pizza lol

They can't show a "learning curve" in a monster movie like this because it's PG-13 and what you (and I) want to see is basically just people dying to these aliens for 5-10 minutes straight until they realize silence is the key. That would be a rated R movie so we aren't getting that.

@@dadcanibeagirl The flashbacks in Part 2 occur on the same day as "Day One" buddy
I think Krasinskis`s character hid and kept others quiet, not because he knew that was the way to survive these blind monsters, but just because it was his instinct to be as quiet as possible while hiding so as not to attract their attention. He has this constant awareness and survival instinct. When the first metorite came down, he was the first to gather his family and start moving to safety, and not panicking while doing so.
Thats common sense 😂

This movie was terrible, absolute TRASH. Do not waste your money on this one, it's nothing like the original. There's so much wrong with this movie that I don’t even know where to begin. The main issue is the writing, it SUCKS, I mean why wouldn’t they explore the alien side of things, like what are they, where do they come from, and how were they able to overwhelm the most powerful military on the planet??? Nope, instead we got a movie about a cat and some pizza...GTFOH, horrible choices for actors as well, they made the guy into a whiny, crybaby while the woman was the strong, empowered hero! Collectively, we’re all sick of that!
One last thing, New Yorkers are armed up to the teeth, people would not be hiding like cowards while their loved ones, friends and neighbors are getting slaughtered, we would have fought back with everything we got, that's the movie I wanted to see, how we fight back and still loose!

It was folks just chill-ly eating pizza and talking about how their dads wouldn’t accept they were gay. It was beautifully shot, though.
This actor who also played in Stranger Things 4 would be great if Marvel casted him as Iron Man from alternate universe. This movie is so great that this is where my mind drifted between dialog scenes...

Ok, that cat impression was spot on ...
I really wanted to see the military fighting the aliens. A Marine in the helicopter just gunning down aliens as he does a fly-by would have been nice.

Then you can watch any number of 'alien attackkkk! pew! pew!' films that already exist.

Loved that cat impression Jeremy. Gave my wife and I a good laugh. She agrees with you also
The scene where they scream during the thunder and the one where he performs a magic trick for the “crowd” were just…so good. Pure humanity in totally different ways. It was beautiful
An idiot wrote this movie. A woke emotional driven individual.
I thought it was cringe how every single time "pizza" is mentioned there is like a ten second pause for anticipated laughter. dito on any time the cat did anything.
Also I find it amazing how they do all that work to make a completely photo real cgi cat, but then decide to animate it in a way completely devoid of all surrounding context, thus completely breaking the immersion.
Expensive pizza advert fearturing comfort cat and dei friends. "Plot" and "characters" were flat af.
I like the movie. Especially the cat.
I can’t watch any movie where the cat’s in danger. Tell me please. Is anything bad happening to the cat in the movie? Otherwise I won’t be able to watch it.
@@YanaPetrukSPOILER:
the cat survives.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie is when the mass of people think theyre being smart moving after a loud noise to not alarm the aliens but them being together involuntarily make a lot of noise and all the aliens attack
Sounds like a good movie to rent or watch online! Thanks man. If I was going to go to the theater to see this I definitely would have wanted it to break new ground or cover those things you mentioned!
If they are blind, HOW ARE THEY NOT RUNNING INTO EVERYTHING?
Biden would have survived the invasion because he can't talk. BAZZING! 🤣🤣🤣
I don't know why tf this film was shot at the 1st place.😂😂
Same shit, diff location, diff faces.. nothing else 😅😅
The cat in this movie was trying to get joseph quinn killed over and over. That cat is a secondary villain
it's a shame that it sounds like we don't really get to see people learning they have to stay quiet; we could have had some great sequences where groups of people try to reason with / stand up against the aliens using words, and suddenly they're piled on from all around by hundreds of the things
....stand up to the aliens...using words???
Alien invasion movies have to check the following boxes: 1) The arrival 2) The devastation of humanity 3) The moment we figure out why they're doing it to us 4) Showing their Achilles heel 5) Getting defeated by resurgent humanity. War of the Worlds was able to accomplish all 5 of these box checks within one movie. Independence Day was a bit weak on #5 but still managed to cover all bases. Here we are three films in to this Quiet Place Franchise, and we sill don't know why the aliens are doing this, and we still haven't seen humanity fight back despite knowing the how to fight back in the first movie. Unless they will very clearly wrap up #3 an #5 in the next movie, I'm out.
