When I think of a quintessential old curiosity shop this is precisely the type of establishment I envision. And three cheers for new feline friends and American flags! What a fun shopping trip, Scott!

Thats what we call a good old fashioned junk store. They have a little bit of everything and you never know what you might find. I love a good junk store when I've got all day to poke around. I think you made some great finds there. A bit smitten with the kitty weren't you. Good score on the Christmas lights.
Nice finds. Wow I did not realize you had such an older kitty!! Fantastic, my mom has a 19 yo kitty. That just says kitty has had a luxurious life and is very happy!
Once again I agree with many of the comments. Your interaction with the cat on the flag was worth watching alone. I appreciate your comments about the fox- this will be something I will remember when I go thrifting. I will add Vintage Dave to my channels watched.

Beautiful shot of the kitty sleeping on the flag. When she briefly looked at you & flexed (kneaded) her paws she was acknowledging you as a friend. That place reminds me of an antique store (although a smaller one than where you are) in Washington called "The Black Cat Antiques". They look very similar. It was named after the resident cat btw.😊

Loved this video. I’ve often admired Patrick’s quarter sawn oak piano behind him along with the antique crocks on top of it( but shhh you’re my favorite you tuber). Love the ship you took us to in North Philly. Reminded when I was a little girl so long ago and I’d go off with my Dad in NYC and we’d go thrifting. Often we’d look at old brass fittings and shops with guy stuff ( I didn’t care I’d go anywhere with Dad). It he’d also take me to used book stores and we’d ply our ways through the stacks. Love the former feral cat. I used to feed some feral cats which had resorted to living in a restaurant parking lot. With the pandemic the restaurant closed and I and a friend trapped them and found them a home with a barn and the owner is a vet tech. Medical care in site. Ferals can be tamed if you’re patient. I have two at home... one a tiny tuxedo with three legs. The fox you discovered is fantastic. Made me do research on these Hungarian figurines. I always learn from you and I thank you for that. The motto is just great. Stay well & be safe.

This store has so much stuff. The fox goes winggoo, from that song The Fox Goes! That store is stuffed. Love the skeleton in the dryer. Most of my cats have been feral, bit and bit became tame. When you showed the little fox figurine I said "Zsolnay" right away. There was an artist that worked for Zsolnay who designed pointy-nosed foxes just like that one. I have a couple of Zsolnay Eosin glazed figurines and hope to find a little fox to add to them.

Those stained glass windows up in the sanctuary! I would have stood there a very long time looking up. Stars and Stripes kitty knew you were a good soul. As we all do. What a find that magnificent Fox was. That was exciting! 👍

This building is just my kind of place I love the woodwork anyone that puts paint on wood is a little crazy. I find a lot of things thats painted but I know I will need to strip it down and that's a job.the table I would have to take it home we had one as a kid it was red and white sad to say we didn't have the chairs just some odds and end. Nice classic high-top sneakers, Scott! You can never go wrong with classics.Those shoes do give good ankle support. I've had a pair of boys' Chucks for over 30 years, black cloth with black leather trim, for over 30 years, and they are still in reasonable shape. (Had to buy big boy sizes because women's sizes were too narrow for my wide hobbit feet 🦶.)
That antique store is a gem. I'm glad they have store cats. I especially loved your picture of the cat catnapping on the American flag. My favorite hardware store has 2 store cats, and one never knows where they will pop up, maybe playing jungle cats in the garden department, or perhaps lounging on top of a stack of boxed window fans.

Lots of bottles are sold as is. I dont know why unless it proves they are old and dug up. But I have bought dirty bottles before.

Errrg, those Christmas lights...one goes out, they all do. Still they are beautiful and they have a wonderful glow. I remember my father hopping the bulbs around the string to find the burnt out one.
The dapper crow was the mascot/logo for Old Crow.

My oh my....loved the old church stained glass windows...my (pastor) hubby was just chomping at the bit to get upstairs and see the church auditorium and of course he would have been up to his chin in all those books. Dallas City Vintage Yes! I loved her too. My husband used to go to thrift stores in the 80s and find me wonderful Asian figures like the lady on the lamp. He would put them in the kitchen cupboards for me to find ♥️
How long were you in the old church looking around? I would’ve been in there a very long time. So looking forward to seeing the old oak chair when you’re doing it, or when you’re finished. What a find. And boy do those earlier Christmas tree lights make me think way back. Those were the lights my folks had when I was a little girl. I love Christmas lights on the tree, in the windows, and any place else I can put them. So cheerful. But, I have to say I love the green depression glass coasters! I’d love to have even one to use in my bedside night stand for mugs of Ovaltine when the weather is cooler here in SoCal. Been drinking Ovaltine since I was a little child. Gosh but you have the neatest places to look for “stuff” there in Philadelphia and environs. Makes me happy to see you shop. I’m always talking to my iPad at you when you do these saying things like, “No,don’t pass that by!!” Or, “Oh!” And “Wow!”. Also, loved the kitty in the old church. Too bad you didn’t see the other one of the two. Can’t quite imagine Halloween this year, with the stay-in-place going on. Wonder if any kids show up. *sigh* Blessings, and stay safe.

I do not know where you found an old shop like that. They are a rare thing these days. I would drive the half hour to Philly to find that place. I was screaming at the screen when I saw the big Santa. I have never seen a second one! I have the one from my parents and it is a bank. I do not remember if it has any marks on it.
A lot of motto prints were done by Buzza. Buzz like a bee. If it has a mark it would have Buzza Craftacres MPLS, USA.> They were in Minneapolis.
In Delaware County, at my end at least, there are no shops like that and they closed the bigger and better Goodwill in Boothwyn. I have a house stuffed with things to sell (hence the name) but I still like to hunt old stores like that. I will be watching for that chair. I love it!

wildcardgal I remember my dad would take the old bulbs from the radios and bring them to the drug store to test them on this machine to see which one was burnt out in the 60s. Would do that to tv’s too

Am I the only person who wanted to use the fire screen as a headboard for a twin size bed? I was coming up with a design in my mind where the screen could be clamped on to a frame with a post on each side and not harm the fire screen. My kids do say that I never use anything for its intended purpose. There were some beautiful items in that shop. That green table had me drooling, LoL

We have a donation box at our church called S.O.S. “Save our sound”. And it’s a fund that we use to try and fix/restore our organ. Not sure if it’s original to the Church, I believe it is; as the church was built in 1858! St. Patrick’s Catholic parish in South Bend, IN. Very beautiful building!
Fossil-bit Next time I am in South Bend I will find St Patrick’s and donate to SOS. My church in Grand Rapids, Fountain Street Church, was finally able to save our sound.

Scott, The Old Crow was a Kentucky Bourbon advertisement piece. We used to joke about, “Do you know what goes into a birdbath?” Why, Old Crow and water. Jim Beam distillery distributes the current version of Old Crow. I hope it is better now, because I called it “Old Croak” in the past. Just a bit of our Kentucky wit and humor.

Oh, Rachel! I'm sorry about kitty. I do hope he comes home soon. We had a cat go missing once for at least 2 weeks and then came home well-fed and looking like nothing ever happened. We think someone found him and took him in. Then he had to wait for the right to opportunity to escape.
