Hi, Dustin! It was great talking to you at Goodwill. You're one of my favorite reseller channels and certainly work hard at what you do. Continued success, and hope to run into you again!
I found what I thought was s keyboard for $7 at the thrift store. It was called an omnichord and was a synthesizer from the 80's put it up for $300 on offerup and my phone started blowing up. I pulled the post down and instead put it on ebay for $500. Sold within an hour. Always on the lookout for another one of those
i have been collecting and reselling for 30 years. before reselling was so common. i did it as an addition to my income from my job. i started selling on ebay when ebay was brand new. before that it was prodigy. i couldn't begin to tell about how many amazing finds i have found over the years. i mostly sell vintage doll items.
I did this for a long time and found myself going too quick through the aisles and narrowing my view. Changing that and slapping down makes this enjoyable again
I picked up a nice, heavy bottle the other day for the grand sum of 50c. Sells for $170 :) Also a plastic bag full of scout woven badges and other items, made quite a bit.
Back in the 2000s I built up an amazing Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters collection from my thrift store finds. Sanrio was my ‘thing’ as well as Star Wars books.
i follow " thereignmakrrr " and he talks about how much he makes every month from what he finds at the salvation army and goodwill. you should check it out.

Kinda shocked how clean and well organized the media section was. Nice. I like the step stone mosaic you passed by. So true about the phone cases. I have two that were brand new that I never got to before I got my new phone 🙄 Couldn't even give them away.
The map... lol maybe I just have a thing for maps, but I didn't look up prices so what do I know. Great for decorating and crafting. USPS has tubs I believe.
I love thrifting! Hey at 0:42 there is an orange cat piano toy worth $26.99 at target. I don’t know if it’s worth it with shipping costs but thought I’d let you know. 👍🏻
I always get excited in these videos when yall come across wooden boxes cuz I've found I really enjoy refurbishing jewelry boxes. Also, when you were looking at that last cart I lowkey hoped you'd find out where the lady got her sparkly hat.
As a bargain shopper and an avid shopper I’m shocked that people pay those prices for some of those items you list. But they must, or you wouldn’t be in this business right! So more power to you. Enjoyed the video.
Yes, you can make a small fortune flipping things from Goodwill! That’s why I love it so much! But please don’t tell too many people-things are getting competitive. 🙁
The ducks you keep finding might be a picker thing. I follow another picker who always seems to find them everywhere she goes. She also seems to find a lot of swans.
just do it, usps. wont know. they wont open the package to check. save yourself some extra money. i follow " thereignmakrrr " and he talks about how much he makes every month from what he finds at the salvation army and goodwill. you should check it out,
That’s valley thrift!!! I just flipped on your channel and we used to live in Dayton for 22 years. You walked in and I’m like wait!! That’s valley thrift!! Looks like they reversed the store a bit... lol!
Vinyl is definitely hot right now. There should be a little bit of money depending on the albums when it comes to the johnny cash. It really varies depending on the album though.
I would give a 100 for that fender squire all day.I play guitar and these can be made to play like a thousand dollar guitar if you know how to do the frets and insulate the electronics.I find an upgrade in tuners and pickups is not necessary. As long as the neck is fairly straight and it is not road rashes I would give 100 all day long for a Fender Squire.
What is your target number for volume as far as how many sold within how long of a period of time on eBay before you decide to pick something up from the thrift store/FB groups, ect..?
It really depends on the item, size of item, and the margins. I would say typically I want at least a 40 to 50% sell through rate on an item in the past 90 days. The closer to 100 the better.
@@propicker i keep reading and hearing "sell thru rate" which is an area I've overlooked as a reseller... are you able to briefly describe this for me? Thanks to the Pro!! Xo
@@Nvm-_-Ricky basically how many items are sold versus listed. So, if there are 10 listed and 10 sold it has a 100% sell through rate. The higher the percentage the better.
@@propicker thanks for your time! That was my understanding of it, thank you. I wasn't sure if there was more to it or not. Definitely makes a difference if thr market is flooded. I can't believe I neglected this detail for so long (being impatient and in a hurry never pays off). Blessings to you today 🙏
All my local thrift stores are stripped to the bone, you go into them and see like 20 people walking around with their cellphones doing the reselling thing and there is nothing to find. Guess the word got out somehow...
i follow " thereignmakrrr " and he talks about how much he makes every month from what he finds at the salvation army and goodwill. you should check it out,
I like your videos and what you do for us I’ve asked a question in the past if you Frankenstein boxes I’ve been doing it for the priority boxes haven’t had anything returned yet as long as they pay priority I’ve been doing that do you do it and you have any hints or tricks or know the rules
Hello! I’m sorry, but what did you say you were using when looking at the towel thing in the beginning? It sounded like you said comp this but I’m not sure... thanks in advance!
Off the top of my head I use the 6 x 6 x 6 box for those. A fair amount of bubble wrap and a touch of brown paper to fill any void. Of course I make sure to insure the package. Priority comes with $50 in insurance by default which covers most candles. Hope this helps!
Thank you for a very nice video explaining why and how you are picking up things.Very helpful when you pick up new or almost new things. But are you reselling things that you have paid you really money like $30, $40 and trying to resell it. What is mark up if any? Do you have any video to show when you ar3 putting th3 things on action and how does this work. I am new to EBay, trying to learn all the tricks of the trade. You are doing a very professional video, thank you.
Hey Ada, on my Instagram from time to time I share numbers. Recently, I did a what sold segment on the back half of my March 14th video. I also have a what sold video playlist which goes over mainly highlights of my Q4 sales last year. If I bought something that ships Priority for say 12 bucks at a 30 buy cost I would at minimum expect to get around 100 bucks shipped or I probably wouldn't buy. I also would expect a quicker flip with anything I have "real" money into as opposed to like a 50 cent yard sale flip. Hope this helps. Sorry I missed your comment earlier.
Great video, but I'm starting to realize that resellers who do not have these palace-like thrift stores available where the shelves are packed from top to bottom with valuable items in great condition, neatly stocked and sorted, those resellers don't tend to make 'Look at me making a ton of profit" videos. :)
Honestly, I do have good thrift stores overall but I am there a ton to make the finds I do. These are highlight visits and not hours long live streams of all my picking. I source all over the place, yard sales, pallets, bin sales, estate sales, fb marketplace, thrift stores, and more. Even if you have no thrift stores or bad ones in your area most people can succeed as at least part time resellers if they are willing to put in the work.
exactly...all the thrift stores in my area are stripped clean by every grandma, teenager and middle age person doing the same thing, you can't make money at most thrift places anymore
Be sure to look out for the discontinued Dr Seuss books! They can be worth close to 300 dollars each
Hi, Dustin! It was great talking to you at Goodwill. You're one of my favorite reseller channels and certainly work hard at what you do. Continued success, and hope to run into you again!
Thanks James for the kind words. It was nice meeting you!
I saw a Cabbage Patch doll on the shelf! Those are expensive!! I bought an old one for $40 at an antique store!
Oh yeah, I've sold quite a few of them in a past. Thanks for watching!

Awesome flip!
Goodwill make hundreds of Millions of dollars a year in profit. This is a great video my friend.
I got lucky hit up a good Will picked up an antique mirror vanity thing and paid 10$
Flipped it for 1000!!!!
Literally wow !!!
Awesome!
Every thrifter I watch has a “thing” lol so yours is ducks, you gotta embrace it and make it a game ;)

Sorry I’m late but what advice would you give someone getting into reselling on eBay and what are best sellers in your opinion that are common
You passed some quilts (10:45). It would be interesting to know how they are priced.
Get a case with a wrist lanyard for your phone. Game changer.
Thanks for your videos. I just bought my first printer ink yesterday to flip! Literally watching every video I can find on how to list and ship.
Awesome, good luck with the sale!

Where do you sell your items please? Thank you 😊
I liked the thin wooden duck😊
This is so wild. I used to thrift at Valley back in the early 2000s to sell on eBay. This makes me so nostalgic!
Headed to valley again today actually. I make it a weekly point to get over there. Definetly a unique thrift!
Always fill your store with good merchandise. I consider it as important as good listing habits. It took me awhile to learn that.
It took you a while to learn that good merchandise was key to selling items?
Back in the 2000s I built up an amazing Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters collection from my thrift store finds. Sanrio was my ‘thing’ as well as Star Wars books.
Goodwill’s in my area have seen me around so much scanning barcodes that they’re starting to directly put their price tag over the barcodes.
Would love to know how you pack and ship your items 😃
Same this is what I find difficult to do with all this I’ve done it for years made some money but not enough to live off hard to ship cost is insane
I would have loved to have had the lanterns. They are beautiful
You should have kept the bengals glasses they're going to the Super Bowl again! Those are probably worth a ton now! Lol
That place is HUGE!
I'm looking for duck stuff!!! Especially flat ducks I can hang on the wall.
Crazy you’re from Ohio same here good video !

Omg I love tht store.prices getting alittle high but I still shop there..I'm from Springfield..great video TFS..glad I found ur channel..
Whoa!!! Valley Thrift is my favorite thrift at all time! I moved to Chicago and really miss it!
So glad I found your channel! Thanks!
I loved those little round fake trees at the end I’m looking for stuff like that for my new apartment I def would’ve grabbed those 😅
These videos are so relaxing 😴 I haven’t been thrifting in over a year with the whole pandemic. I miss it so much! Gonna have to get back out there.
I want that snowman stand!!
Cincinnati here. Great content.

I found this video and really liked it. Thanks! I gave it a thumbs up and I subscribed. Looking forward to more of your videos. I am in Maryland
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you found the channel!
I love your channel. It inspired me to start my own channel The Thrifting Twins
Good luck with your channel!
Great video!
Thanks!
Thrift stores are much larger in USA then in Australia
Noritake is a brand that sells for great prices!! I am always on the hunt for additional pieces for my set.
And it costs me a ton per piece.
My set is the Noritake Colorwave green & & the water pitcher alone costs an average of $90 new.
Is this a brand of ceramic/ pottery?
Awesome video. Learned a lot.
Hey, I enjoy your videos! Just wanted to mention that Squire is a Stratocaster model.
Big shout from your newest subscriber in Scotland 😉
Welcome, glad you found the channel!
Good tips. Thanks!

People collect all kinds of things.
Thanks for another great video! I think I know your thrift stores better than the ones in my area - because of your videos.
Yes, you can make a small fortune flipping things from Goodwill! That’s why I love it so much! But please don’t tell too many people-things are getting competitive. 🙁
I found a army train ho size sold it to a friend for 50 it was probably worth alot more
Omg shape ups 🤟
Love your channel and the education you give us all. What is the best way to find comps while shopping? Scanning on eBay? Thx
Ebay scanning or searching and then filtering by sold listings.
The ducks you keep finding might be a picker thing. I follow another picker who always seems to find them everywhere she goes. She also seems to find a lot of swans.
Great video! Does anyone know if media mail applies to video games? It didn't explicitly list them as a yes or know when I looked it up
Video games can't be shipped media mail.
@@propicker Gotcha, thanks for the super quick reply 🤓

Be careful with shape ups. A lot of them have dry rot. Push on the foam to double test them.
This is so true. Same with Dansko sadly.
The older Yankee candle items sell well on ebay uk
They have a LOT of shoes!!
Have fun tomorrow on your resell journey 🎶✌❤🍏
Thanks James!
Fellow Buckeye And picker here. Enjoyed your video!
Thank you!
Do you think I could flip kitchenware? Also how would I list stuff so they would sell faster?
Yes, if it's the right type / brand of kitchenware. Take good photos. Decent titles with keywords. Solid description noting any defects.

Oh for sure it's a solid price on it. I just typically don't like selling and shipping them after a bad experience with a jaguar bass.
My thrift stores has nothing like this. I can't burn candles I'm allergic to all candles. But I know they are expensive.

I think GW is usually a bit overpriced. However, if you have a St. Vincent near you, they are a lot better and more reasonable.
You should see FedEx employees throw boxes in the semis and trucks. They’re pushed to hurry. It’s amazing anything makes its destination intact.
Yeah, basically any carrier will eventually bust something you send out due to harsh performance metrics.
Now I would of opened the door for that older lady, but I'm amazed how most people don't even think about it.
I like this!
Clean white tennis shoes with a magic eraser
How do manage your inventory? Bin system??? Racks??
Bins on plastic shelving with custom skus.
You gonna make prices go up for us thrifters who really shop for survival (fixed income) showing your hustle
Awesome finds
Is copper pots something you recommend?

Valley Thrift Mondaze!
I know exactly where your thrifting! My sister and I went to The Valley last summer! I was looking for Breyer horses!
Curious, why ship that salad shooter Priority vs. First Class? I'm always conscious about shipping prices depending on the product I'm selling. Thanks

I use ebay. I will look up sold listings if I'm uncertain on something.

Gopro hero 8 or 9 black depending on the video.
