Very nice review! Thorough and informative. We got this doorbell because our wiring was a bit wonky with the original Wyze doorbell cam (that now sits out back plugged in using the "secret" micro USB port, so it worked out!). We really like the Pro, but I was wondering if you could expand on what the power/battery saver mode actually does to conserve battery or if it's effective at all. We sorta just kept it enabled out of the box and battery life seems good, so don't want to mess with it, but the nerd in me is just curious. :) Thanks again!
It lowers the PIR triggering and takes a little longer in sending out a motion notification. But nothing that I saw made it any worse for ware and I like saving battery when I can.
I just bought 2 of these for my front door and back door they are awesome video quality is great I got 90 day subscription cam plus free if you pay manually 1.67 a month is great deal bought cameras off Amazon for 67.00 each they had them on sale do uou think screwing bracket is better than adhesive? I did adhesive first to try my outside is brick so guessing screws will be better lot of info from video thanks
Thanks for the video! I decided to get the Wyze doorbell v2 since I did not need a battery powered doorbell and the Wyze doorbell v2 is less than half the cost of the pro. I don't believe the pro has any real advantage other than the battery.
I always run two doorbells. One powered one battery. Right now I have swapped my power to the wyze doorbell v2 and have not looked back. They wyze battery pro I swapped with a eufy battery camera.
Thank you for this review. Has the camera improved in any way since? Perhaps after an update etc? Also is it usable at all without the subscription or is it completely useless? Last question, did you wire this to the mains eventually and what transformer/adapter would you recommend where there isn't any existing doorbell wiring?
There have only been a few quality of life style updates for this doorbell. The doorbell is usable without a Wyze subscription, however in my opinion being notified of only motion for a doorbell kind of breaks the reason for getting a doorbell like this. I never did end up wiring this doorbell. The place where I could is too thin to support the size of this doorbell.
@Wanderer001_Reviews Thank you so much for your reply. I purchased the Wyze video doorbell Pro and a transformer/adapter to power it alongside the Wyze lock with keypad. Just thought to go for it since I already invested in quite a collection of Wyze home products anyway. Here's hoping it serves its basic purpose well enough. Thanks for your review anyway. It helped and I'm subscribed to your channel now 🙂
@@garden0fstone736 the doorbell is working very well so far and I did have to tape the overly bright blue light around the doorbell button. Battery life is currently 85% after 1 month since installation. Decided not to wire the doorbell even though I got a compatible dc adapter so it's secured right on the door. So far so good 👍
Are the chimes on the Pro different than the ones on the original doorbell? If so, it'd be nice if you included those like you did in the original doorbell video.
I did not think anyone actually liked that part. All I got was comments about how it was wasting time. That's why I skipped it this time. There are a lot of chimes that the two doorbells share. However, as you might imagine there are those that you can only find on the pro.
Hello my friend. I bought this 2 weeks ago & today date is 07/23/23 because of the information that you provided. Internal Battery that last 6 months. I had set it up exactly the way you recommended. Unfortunately, the battery didn't last more than 4 days. I recharge it again, but I monitor the screen the way it decreases the battery. It's no way in the world it's 6 months unless I am doing something wrong. I need ur response. Please 🙏 respectfully, what's going on?
It is very dependent on how you use the doorbell, but it should last more then 4 days for sure. Are you leaving the video doorbell feed open a lot to watch what is going on or do you use it just for clips? Also did you dial it in to keep track of just close to the door?
You did pretty good, but you are incorrect when it comes to using the existing doorbell wiring it does not charge the battery, but will run the doorbell
The video doorbell pro does only charge while using a wired connection via the documentation from Wyze's web site.: Can I use my existing doorbell wiring to power Wyze Video Doorbell Pro? Yes, compatible wiring will allow the doorbell to charge while it’s mounted. Having constant external power will allow your doorbell to record an additional 3-6 seconds of pre-roll video before an event, allowing you to see more context for a video clip. (www.wyze.com/products/wyze-video-doorbell-pro?related_selling_plan=41618559008930)
Maybe you can look into it because I think it gives you a different notification for your doorbell I don't know because I don't have the doorbell but that's what it says in the app if you try it out let me know what's it about please.....thanks. and have a safe and happy New Year
I really am not liking the circle view. My other complaint, is that it is not very consumer friendly to have to have the consumer take it in too charge it, rather then bring a battery out to recharge it. Nothing pro about having to do that, I have the ring, but im looking to switch to wyze. Also sucks that they try and push subscriptions on a device you own, to access your footage.
The circle view did bother me at first, but I did get used to it. I think part of needing to bring the doorbell in to charge is to help cut down on the size of the doorbell. I do agree that it is disappointing that Wyze doorbell need a subscription to actually be useful.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews I mean, I have the ring, and it's not that large. idk how so in comparison. But if it was no larger then the ring for instance, I'd be fine with it. I think enough users simply need to speak up for them to do something about it since they aren't some big tech thing, they might actually do it if enough speak up.
Thank you. UA-cam does offer the optoin to slow down a video if a person like me talks to quickly. I have a bad habbit of speeding up videos on youtube myself.
I can get that. I am a one man show and tend to focus more on getting as much information into a video as I can rather then having pretty transitions or B roll.

Personally where I am I would screw it into bricks. In my area the temp. changes would over time make the adhesive less reliable over time.

That doorbell is massive
This is actually one of the smaller battery powered doorbells that I have tested.

This same exact comment was posted on another channels review of this doorbell. Seems fishy.

So if I had 2 door bells (front door/ back door) could I pair them both to 1 chime or do I need to use individual chimes
You can not. One chime per doorbell: support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403860279067-Can-one-Wyze-Chime-work-with-multiple-Wyze-Video-Doorbells-
I have a Wyze base that came with my Wyze battery outdoor cam. The base has a memory card slot can I use it to capture the door bell video content?
You can not. That base station is designed to work only with the outdoor camera.
So this only records events right? And how fast is the notification whether somebody walks up to the doorbell or pushes the doorbell
That is correct. I generally get a notice in 3sec ish.

How long is the event clip? I hare the original only records 15s
There are ways to change the cool down and recording length: ua-cam.com/video/UwD-j3xJjGQ/v-deo.html
Blue light will drive you crazy there is no option to configure it do not buy for this reason. Telling you based on my own experience.
I feel the lights on the original were worse.
Does it record a few seconds before an event gets triggered?
It does not.
Didn't you miss a very important fact and feature, that you can tie into a wired doorbell to trickle charge the battery if you like?
That is a very good point. Which is why I mention it here: ua-cam.com/video/UwD-j3xJjGQ/v-deo.html
Sorry about that! I missed that somehow. 🤷

As with most battery powered doorbell there will be a little lag between speaking and when the other party hears you. It is not to bad though.
