- This video teaches you how to make an Exploding Box Album.
This tutorial is made by Katia from Lunar Sun Creations with our "Whimsical Fairy Village" kit.
Of course you can use other papers to make this craft project as well.
And you can use these printables for an infinite amount of other crafts as well, like many of our other tutorials.

TOOLS & MATERIALS USED
✂ paper trimmer
✂ strong flat magnets (neodymium)
✂ scissors
✂ wet glue
✂ double sided tape
✂ Tyvek - for example pieces of a tyvek envelope (alternatively: book tape, duct tape) - for example: amzn.to/3wQAfev
✂ heavy weight chipboard (2mm at least - Katia glued two pieces of medium weight chipboard together)
✂ scoring board or scoring tool / mat / ruler
✂ bone folder
✂ cardstock in preferred color (Katia used 80lb cover - 215 gsm)
✂ design paper print on cardstock (Katia used 80lb cover - 215 gsm, a bit lighter will also work fine)
✂ ink and ink blender (optional)

Wow, I had no idea what can be done with paper, ink and gesso. I'm new to working with paper products. I've always have been a material girl, yarn, sewing fabrics, etc. I knit, crochet, make clothes, quilt plus other crafts using material. The things you can do and make in this (paper) craft, is amazing. It's only been a little over a year since I was introduced to paper crafts and I have a lot to learn. I loved the video and will try some of the techniques shown.
The paper arts are pretty amazing in thier diversity! I've created more explosion boxes ( you can see those on my channel-Lunar Sun Creations) but all have been a bit different.
Having gorgeous images to work with is certainly an inspiration!

This is fantastic! I’m at the point of putting on the patterned paper and can’t figure out how to size it to fit the different panels. Any suggestions?
I usually make the panels 1/4 inch (6 mm) less high and wide than the part I put it on. This way you'll have a nice 1/8 inch (3 mm) border all around. I think Katia did the same in this tutorial.

I couldn't find it on Amazon. I really think it will look the best with that kind of finish
What is score tape?
It's a brand name of double sided tape. Just good sticking double sided tape will do :)
