- In this video I (Tinne) will teach you how to make a Year Long Journal Set. I made it with the printables of our "Vintage Botanical" Crafting Printables Kit, but you can use our other kits as well.
You can also just make one journal, or three or more and adjust the slipcase to the amount of journals you make.
Of course you can use these "Vintage Botanical" printables for an infinite amount of other crafts as well, like many of our other tutorials.

This is terrific. I had an idea while you were creating this,,, I have 8 grandchildren that I could make a journal significant to each of them and write notes to them, share my memories of their younger years, and include pictures that we've taken. This would be for me now, but one day,,, they'll each get their special journal as a keepsake. I’m off to creating time. I’ll use different kits and colors of cardstock specific to each kiddo,,, oh the fun is in the creating! THANKS for another great tutorial.
Yes! Awesome idea 🙌
Oh my goodness-what an amazing gift to leave behind for them. ❤❤❤❤❤ Be sure to put things about yourself as well, like your reactions/feelings as well. And photos. I’ve always hated self photos, and now there’s hardly any for my grown children to see what I looked like throughout the years of them growing up.
@@elib7311 thanks for your encouragement. I actually cut some packaging paper into proper size signature papers yesterday for working on these.
Wow, I'd love to do this too! I also thought it would be great to make a set for baby's first year!
❤❤❤ love this so darn sweet 😋 😍 💖

Enjoy the kit, Louise! 🥰
Such a beautiful set of journals.
omg absolutely stunning!!!! You are so talented!!! This gave me the idea to make memory journals for my kids, add an entry for every milestone or event/adventure etc. as they grow up, then when they are older, they can read through them, kind of like a baby book.

What a great graduation gift, rather than monthly pages, you could do pages every year of school (pictures and notes). They could be tagged as Kindergarten, first Grade, Second Grade, etc.
Awesome ideas!!
Just beautiful 😊

I want to make a set with your new "writing " paper printables! I love all the new writing sets, so I'm off to get them now! ❤

Beautiful I love your tutorials especially this I have made three of your other ones. Thank you so much for sharing this
I absolutely love this project. Thank you for the tutorial.
Love this!!
I'm glad that you made a box that is perfect for storing the journals. I have some smaller journals which will fit in a box the same size as the month journals. I'm going to make the box first and insert the month journals as they get finished.
A very beautiful journal set! TFS
Thx for this Inspiration
This is amazing!! I may buy this kit because it's gorgeous, but it occurs to me you can dedicate each month to a particular theme you like. Say, in January a New Year's theme; in February Valentine's Day; in March Spring... The possibilities are endless! Thank you so much for this beautiful project, and the freebie labels! ♥
Great idea!!
I love it😍😍😍😊
Hi Tinne, what a great idea and so beautiful. Definitely want to buy the kit but as I do everything from my mobile, I'm worried about trying to unzip to get access 😕
I have always loved your ideas! I would enjoy seeing some else made with this paper. I will make me one but am going to do one for my granddaughter. I want to make room for pictures and other goodies. I’m guessing to wait and see how thick they end up being and then make the outer holder. But what would you think would be a good thickness for each journal without getting carried away?
My "rule" is twice the width of the spine = big enough :') But that's not a scientific answer.
Wauw 🤩
♥️♥️♥️!
Prachtig
Wil je van dat papier ook eens een voorbeeld maken om een kaart te maken????
WOW! This is such a lovely journal idea! Thank you! ❤️
Hola!!! Que bonito kit 😊🤩 me podrías decir en que gramaje lo imprimes? Es que quiero hacer este proyecto porque me ha gustado mucho 😊🌼
I printed the papers at 160gsm and the journal pages at 120gsm
Love this idea. Question: I noticed on the printed pages there are four ‘rings’ down the center of each page but you made only three holes to do the binding. Is there a way to do the binding with those four preprinted holes?
Yes, there is, you can definitely do a 4-hole pamphlet stitch. You can find tutorials for that on UA-cam or diagrams on the internet.
👌👍🙄
🥰🥰🥰
Hi Tinne I just bought the journal set on Etsy and I’m gathering supplies. Silly question but what size and color teardrop bead did you use? Love the way yours turned out!
It's half an inch (1.3 cm) high and 1/4 inch (6mm) diameter in the widest part
Tinne. this is amazing. Truly beautiful. You are so talented. I did try and access the free download, but it just wont work for me. I flicked you an email xx
I really want to make this. But can't print this yet till get a computer ect set up. This is just up my street
Hi 😊
What is the name of the tool you use to remove the backing from the double sided tape?
It's the "spatula" from the Silhouette brand. Cricut also has one I think.
Tinne, if buy the mini version of this will I be able to make the whole kit shown in the video or do I need to get the deluxe kit..? Thanks
Hi Valerie! The tutorial is made with the standard kit. You can definitely make the project with the MINI kit as well, but you’ll only have half the choice of papers, journal pages and embellishments to make the project pretty. You’ll have to choose other papers than I’m using here and there and you’ll have more repeating journal pages.
Ok thanks for responding, have a great day.!!
I have a question Tinne. Does the glue stick last down the track. I know Ive been making cards and scrapbooks, journals etc, for years now, but everything ive done with double sided tape is all falling apart now. Do you know if the glue stick stands the test of time. Its so frustrating when I see a great project falling apart because a year or 2 old.. Maybe I should try this glue stick....
If you want your crafts to last long I would use a "strong" glue stick or even better a liquid glue like tacky glue or fabri tac. The reason I use a glue stick in tutorials (I usually say that, perhaps I forgot) is that it's just super fast to make tutorials. On the other hand, my projects aren't falling apart yet.
For some reason I do not get the pdf.
Write to support@vectoriadesigns.com and we'll help you out.
Thank you, I love all of your kits, and I have tons of them. Just my opinion, but the fake binding/rings on the pages are not my favorites. I don't like the fake look. I think it takes away from the authenticity of the journal, and your beautiful artwork. Again, this is only my opinion. Of course it is still beautiful.
I honestly loved the project, but I confess that the cost is high for my pocket.😒😒
You can make this project with (scrapbook) papers you already have and for example use tea dyed paper as journal pages
…’very irritating 3/16 of an inch’….😂😂😂😂 Side Note: the warping gives folders an aged quality.
Correct!
