- I remove the Audi rear subframe mounts and replace them with #034motorsport billet aluminum mounts. Say goodbye to slop!!!
The parts installed: www.034motorsp...
My mechanic: germanautospec...
This gave me all the confidence needed to do this mod myself! Thanks man.
My gosh didn't know the old ones were literally that... just ordered them I'll tell my shop 2 put em on with the 034 springs . Thanks for sharing I'll be sure to show them this too so it's ez pz for them 😊
I felt the same way! Can't go wrong with 034.
I think you are going to have to do an Angeles Forest Highway run and really test that out!
I think that can be arranged.
Thanks for this video. I have the tranny mount, sway bar w/ end links and rear diff inserts already installed and felt quite a difference. Thanks to @StreetRyde and you now Ill be benefitting from these in a couple weeks,
Congrats! Happy to help. Can't go wrong with these 034Motorsport parts. Significant quality upgrades.
Based on where the 2nd set of mounts are in the video, it seems like it would be good to do this mod at the same time the rear sway bar is done.
Very good observation! The installation instructions actually suggested dropping the sway bar for this install, but as you could see, my mechanic worked around that with some wrench adapters. So to your point, doing the sway bar and subframe mounts at the same makes sense. Also the rear differential mounts could be included in that bundle. Thanks for watching!
i have an A5 Sportback 2018..... very inconsistent and really irritating noise.....mechanic said it was my front sub frame's right side and its some type of a defect.....happened when i had the car on a lift.... still researching to see what is what..
Audi slopped us hard on this.
Love the effort you put into these videos
I appreciate that!
FYI, subframe bolts are one time use only. They cost like 5 bucks each? You have beautiful S4 with lots of hp and torque. I just wonder, how a "specialist" shop allows to use the same stretch bolts again.
Thanks! According to 034 Motorsport, the same hardware can be reused. Can you point me to any literature about this? I do know the rear differential bolts are one time use, but I didn’t know the subframe was.
@@midlifemods If you mean this sentence from 034 motorsports site:
"Please Note: The four factory rear subframe bolts can be reused at the torque specified in our Installation Guide. If you wish to purchase new stretch factory hardware, you will need QTY: 2 of N91228001 and QTY: 2 WHT004756A."
Btw, the shop didn't use any torque wrench on the video, just impact (air) gun? What's up with that..
Yeah, they can be reused and ppl have reused them. This doesn't mean it is advisable especially with your 500hp monster :) It is a risk.
Once stretched bolt never returns to it's original size. This weakens the bolt, and if you try to reuse it, you take a risk of snapping the bolt in two, leaving the threaded part in the chassis. Also, reused bolt could damage the chassis threads, but safety first I would say!
You can google stretch bolts or TTY bolts for more literature. Also if you have access to ELSA, VAG states something like ""Always renew after removing."
Just my 2 cents.

Awesome video! I just bought these along with a bunch of other goodies from 034 Motorsports. I was curious did you buy new subframe bolts or reused the ones you took off?
Thanks! I used the factory bolts.
cornering with stock parts is pretty sloppy for a car like this. I was a bit disappointed.
What issues prompted you to change the subframe mounts? Can you elaborate? Thanks.
Hi. I didn't have any issues on my OEM parts. I simply learned about the upgrade and saw that it replaced the plastic audi parts so I thought it would be a good idea to prolong the life of the car.
Is this what fixes that clicking noise when you are slowly moving in reverse or going over bumps
Hmmm... not sure what clicking noise you're referring to.
Need this for my 4g
Mine didn't come with the differential. Is it still worth it? I have already done the rear sway bar.
Do you mean it doesn't have the sport differential? Because it should have a rear differential if it's all wheel drive. These subframe mounts aren't going to be a drastic handling improvement like the sway bar should be. Worth it depends on what you're going for. For me, I'm pushing this car pretty hard and taking it to track days so I want all components to be as solid as possible, even if they don't directly improve handling. So if you want your parts to be more solid and thus last longer, it's worth it. If your casually driving on the streets, it's probably not necessary.
@@midlifemods Sport differential, correct. Ok thanks for the feedback. I'm not really a track guy. Maybe once I have a job where I'm not traveling so much!
@emirh.9376 happy to help. Safe travels! Hope you make it to the track some day soon. Even if you're renting a car :) it's a lot of fun.
On my S6 I first installed trans mount. Then I did the Diff mounts. Than lastly the subframe mounts. Each install was one at a time. The first 2 installations, no NVH. But after the subframe mounts I can hear NVH. I barely felt the difference and the NVH, which sounded like gear noise, was a bit irritating. Anyone get NVH after installing the subframe mounts? The trans mount and Diff mounts I felt a difference. As for the subframe, barely noticed any difference.
I don't notice anything.
Got the same issue on my b8 s4, seems to be rarely common unfortunately only the removal of the mounts will get rid of the noise. I first thought I fucked my diff up
How many hours of labor was this? Looks like it shouldn't take a shop more than 1.
You nailed it! It was about an hour. I'm sure I probably slowed them down a bit with my camera.
@@midlifemods Thanks. My shop charged me a full hour for just the transmission insert. If I go back to them again for other inserts/mounts I want to make sure I get a more accurate and fair quote.
@@voop00p its possible theyre charging for a minimum of 1 hour labor. id double check if that is the case, but they should also be forward about that
@@voop00p I did transmission insert in < 10 minutes with ~$25 of new tools 😂 they loved u for that invoice
A bit confused at why you didn't just install this your self?
A lot of people could easily do this installation at home. But my friends at German Auto Specialist are happy to help me out. And I'm happy to visit them. But in the future, if there's anything I can do or want to do myself, I will. I hope you stick around to see 🙂
@@midlifemods For sure man sorry if that came out a bit rude. I have a 2022 s3 and I love the car and I really like your channel as well man keep up the good work
@@midlifemods One thing is I can hardly find any TCU tunes for the 8Y 2022 s3 not sure if you could point me in the right direction
@Luke A Not at all! I'm learning as I go so I feel more comfortable taking it to the pros for now. Support your local mechanics! 🤣 Thanks for the support!

What do you think about Subframe for Audi Q4? Are they good?
I'm not sure. Even if they're not good, I'm not aware of any performance upgrades for them.
I don't appreciate your talking about my sloppy rear subframe.
Bro... everyone is talking about it. I'm just the only one real enough to make it public. Nobody wants a sloppy rear subframe. Please clean yours up asap so we can all stop talking about it.
