I have always tried to do precisely this, but the problem is that there simply isn't enough time to follow this method for my difficult subjects... I barely have enough time to learn the chapters once for every subject... I am too swamped by projects
My thoughts exactly! I literally have to study for exams while learning new information for other classes all while attending labs and clinicals aside from lectures!
This. Unfortunately
I hive up looking at tips and look what fits me. I am not a routine person or have diffrents shift. So I can rely on certain times. Everyone is different. Everyone has diffrent lifestyle and needs
Idk if this will help but in learning websites like quizlet there are usually study sets that other people make that are quite useful. But u will need to filter out the bad ones and probably, this is only useful if you are learning general subjects.
Many people have previously said... Learning stuff in med school is like drinking water from a fire hose.
That's how I learn everything. I used to be the best and fastest learner in class, and then I had to give a short lecture about efficient studying. It didn't take a month until I was on the lower-average part of my class because they've implemented this technique. I am now proud of being on the lower-average part of the class, because it shows how efficient it really is.
Idk what kinda class you attend but it's a damn weird one if all the the class gives a crap about both the presentation and implementing an "efficient study technique"... And even more if the majority are motivated, and diligent enough to successfully implement this "technique"...
@@JeremyBach-m4h oh it was either this or being stuck in school for (at least) two more years. After being at school for 12.
Can u like type out the things u said? :/ I would like to read it
@@puttunammu4220 same 😭 like if they have a docs or smtg...

Repetition & consistency is key!!
Yasssss for y’all learning about sickle cell!! As a sickle cell patient who is hospitalized frequently I approve and appreciate this!!♥️♥️
Praying for you!
My problem at school and then university was that there isn't anything I'm passionate enough about to put even half this much effort in lmao
Lxl same
Honestly same
I really am going through this.
If you have any tips please let me know
So true about CONSISTENT STUDY TIME & ACTIVE STUDYING! ❤
I’m not in nursing, although these tips are really good for studying in general.
To those who may be in nursing or using these tips for test taking, I hope you the best! 💜
Yeah I never had that in school 🤣 we did the old fashioned record our notes on a tape recorder and put the headphones on 24hrs in hopes of retaining something. And don't forget those 10,000 note cards my hand cramps thinking about writing all those formulas down during pharmacology....but one thing is true always stay consistent with your study routine try to resist drinking and eating bad foods. Dha people dha. I got and maintained a 4.2 because I dedicated myself to studying
4.2 is very impressive!
Yes that how I had to do my Nursing too!! We didn’t have what they have today and nursing class was way harder back in the day. They even dropped classes for nursing school today so that they can get more people in the field. Sound a little scary to me that we have half learning nurses today!! Lol
@@KERRIESCARINGNURSERY yes I started noticing a difference when they could no longer take a manual blood pressure. 😀 I was like what happens if we actually have a power outage?
@@michellerains2732 thank you I was young 17 and I was already interested in medicine by the age of 9 obsessed maybe haha I firmly told my mom I wanted no more dolls only medical journals. She complies even putting me into a indigenous medical course at 10. But it was tedious after the easy classes like ap and terminology. I almost quit in pharmacology almost. Haha
@@crazymode341 I know right haha if the electronics are not telling them what is going on or how much to give then they are lost!! lol Sad but they could NEVER work on a battle field or anywhere that didn't have electric!!
8 years ago I dropped out because of depression. I was missing 2 classes to graduate but just couldnt do it anymore. This week I enrolled again for a 2 year HBO degree, and wow I have learned A LOT in 8 years. The material seems LOGICAL to me now, that I have lived a life and experienced things. Usage of technology helps (didnt really have knowledge of that back then)!!! I feel young and full of hope again😂 I am only 32.
May I ask what is this HBO degree..never heard of it before?...Is it some foreign country degree classification?... Sorry if my question seems rude or ignorant to u.
@@vivek27789 Its a Dutch school system. Internationally it's called 'the university of applied sciences'. We have different levels of difficulty when it comes to education over here. MBO is focused on learning practical working skills, HBO towards applying science to be able to apply that in the workfield while our universities are focused on research and statistics. Hope this helps! :)
@@familievk6447 So is it equivalent to bachelor's or master degree?
@@vivek27789 Bachelor
@@familievk6447 Ok ...and is this MBO also of bachelor level?
Instead of reciting you can try writing all the concepts down, just the concepts and try explaining out loud using key words and even make diagrams or mind maps to make it easier to explain and thus better for learning. I also create a time limit or urgency, so I can study something with more focus, concentration, speed and just better.
Props to you guys for taking on such demanding careers. Me, I'm just glad I'm not in school anymore. Like, SO GLAD.
Yeah, and don't forget the emergency cramming in case you hadn't had the chance to study the material beforehand.
Pro tip for this is quickly reading presentation/notes and just focus on certain words that will trigger a sentence in your head.
Yaaaas that was me on the bus to school 🤣 flipping those note cards muttering under my breath
@Somatic Death I've been cramming my entire life, everything works you just got to adapt to it.
Active recall is key. I use quizlet and I’m killing it in nursing school.
How is it I feel that if I had this information during High School, I might have performed better. Great tips!
I’m a huge fan of active studying. When I was in college, we had to do “drop the needle” exams in music history. There was a list of questions that we needed to answer, and then an essay to write for each piece of music that was played. I always studied by writing out my answer ideas (or lists of possible answers depending on where the needle was dropped) giving myself the test over and over. I also go together with friends to quiz each other. It was so much easier than passively reviewing information.
Last year of whats technically my country’s high school but i am taking the “hardest classes”. Advanced -chemistry, -physics, -math and everything else.
My technic: use your time in class. Pay attention. Talk about what u are learning with friends in your class.
(Not much, dont go overboard, though it can help u with remember some stuff more because you get another association)
Before a test, start practicing the week before. It does not need to be very intense right away. Warm your mind up to the fact u have a pretty big test in 2 weeks or something.
I make notes on formulas and definitions and hang different places.
- on my wall
- this will become wallpaper
- bathroom (if u are brave enough)
- i live in a dormetry but the fridge would be a great place so u still focus on test while making food the days before the test.
Basically i look at them while getting ready and doing routines. Also when
I am tired and not feeling for it i am still able to somewhat practice soemthing cause they do be everywhere in my room.
Also when actually reading and doing tasks, i wonder something and turn around cause wasn’t that formula right above the mirror.
The 1-3 days before the test do tasks. Just do a lot of tasks. It depends how big the test is and how confident you are you know the subject.
- This tip is probably one of the best as when i talked with the other ca. straight As students they all expressed the importance of this.
When u get on the test u see a lot of tasks but u are able to figure out what to do because u have done so many similar before.
Also get hold of previous tests if u can.
Did like 3 different exams the evening and 1 in the morning before my last chemistry exam.
Before i used to just pay attention in class and not study at all before on my spare time or do homework and still pull of A or B+. But times change, dont get to cocky.
Also write up all your coming test for a reasonable time forward in a spot you see basically every day.
On point!!!! As a retired RN is so true!!
Finally something informational for others
If I needed a reason a reason to love you guys any more than I do this is it. I'm behind you guys in whatever you both do!!
This youngman has gotten so good on camera 📸
I just finished my prerequisites. 🥺👏🏻👏🏻 FINALLY. I start the nursing program when it starts next semester.
Never seen a better doctors handwriting
Wish we had such resources last time. The only resource we had was asking the lecturers questions… youtube wasn’t so expansive back then. So there wasn’t much visual learning aid.
Though I'm Bangladeshi and not a medical student. I'm a business study student.
But your tips will work for everyone...
Thankful to you guys.
Love the pink scrubs
one life hack to memorize something in depth is to get a basic understanding of that topic take some notes and pretend you’re teaching a class about that topic.
Kev's handwriting is so nice
Please more videos like that!!!
Thank you for your method, not only can we use it in this subject but also more ones.
A Doctor with a great handwriting.
Thank you for these tips
Anki is the best for spaced repetition !
Nice shorts useful for all students, miki🧚♀️🧚♀️🇮🇳📿
She's perfectly adorable
This is best. Please share more info like this regarding how to focus. How to make routines and how to be in decipline?
Spaced repetition was my secret weapon in college lol
Wanna apply this to myself specially the consistent study routine but my schedule is 7 Am-11:00 PM and aith that, the only thing I did in my free time is slept
What free time?
Thank you guys, that really helped.
Starting classes next month thank you

This is helpful :)
thankk youu so muchh
Kevin Jubbal is smiling right now
Thank you
As an engineer, I almost never showed up for classes and only studied before the exams. I got a lot of A’s, but a lot of C students are doing better than me at real engineering problem solving
So many great tips 👍🏾👏🏾
Awesome!!
As soon as I study, I fall asleep 🤷♂️
This was what I was planning to do before starting nursing school, but now I just cram literally everything, and now I'm f*cked up. :D
I badly need this 🥺
You guys are too cute !!!! ❤
Your makeu looks cute miki
Edit: your hair too🤗
i was absolutely not made for studying but you go!
THANK YOU AAAAA
POV
When the most distracting thing isn't ur mobile but ur own thoughts.
For exams I basically just write down important informations that would be in the exam and repeat them to myself again and again
Thanks
I know this wasn’t the point of this video but I love your handwriting. LOL
I just talk to myself or in general like I’m giving a lecture. Sometimes I even wear a lab coat to set the tone.
Quick question : I wanna persuade the medical career, I just wanna know what kind of doctor Kevin is and maybe some tips on this topic. I am in 11th grade
I believe he is a general surgery resident, so a general surgeon. He may specialize in a particular field of surgery in the future though.
I wouldn’t sweat about studying for surgery specifically now. Hell, I just graduated college (applying to med school now) and have yet to study anything that specific on surgery. Just take it a little at a time. Right now, you should focus on college and what premed courses you need to take. Then taking the MCAT.
Become a anesthesiologist or radiologist the pay is top notch and it's less school. Or go for nursing she isn't lying about the pay and now there is levels to nursing degrees in two years you could be in a hospital while working towards the next level learning in the job training as you go getting laid $50,000 to start hell even MA in seattle get paid like $45,000 start and you can get a MA certificate in 8 months at no cost to you at a vocational school
That'll just make me me more of a perfectionist
Not that I'm already not
Actually we should understand the concept not memorize but the tip is effective
Our nursing school actually made us lecturio accounts to us eit
Thank u
Well done
Thanks ✨👍🏻‼️
Thank you (:
Ive finally seen a doctors handwriting which I could understand
Yey! I lol try it thanks 💜
I wish I can do this but I don't have much time. Our medschl curriculum is hard af
That's true

Wow... 👏👏👏👏
Oh we just watched an ad and I’m not mad
Mnemonics. Periodt. Hahah.
This is the first time I’m hearing Miki’s boyfriend speak with no accent 🤯😭🤣

How did this get recommended to me at 2 am when I have a medical biology test tmrw that I had no time to study for earlier because of OTHER tests I had...yeah I think I need this but I have no money
