Paulino Caracuas It took like 2 minutes after watching this video, but I tried to do it on my own about 2-3 months before this video was uploaded and got close a lot of times. But this video is all you need to land your first heelflip. Hope this helps!

This is prolly one of the best heel flip tutorials ever. I’ve landed it before but wanna get it consistently rather than every like 20th attempt. The flick after the pop was so key and I ended up learning that myself from slo mo lol. Either way great vid this helped a lot.

Omg finally someone talking about the heel not being involved, I recently learned this trick and I was so confused as to why everyone has there toes hanging off. I fully flick it with my toes
I'm surprised people don't talk about it more. I think it is fine to hang your foot off, It just makes the trick much harder.
Theres a benefit tho because you it rips the side of your shoe less

This was the first flip trick I learnt. Which was back December. I then lost the ability to do for 5/6 months. Apparently it was because I forgot to pop then flick (Tried doing it at the same time). Thanks to this video I got it back pretty much. 👌👍

I’ve had heelflips for years, but occasionally lose them with a new deck until muscle memory comes back through. Not good enough. This is the best heelflip trick guide I’ve seen on UA-cam, as it addresses the common misconception of hanging your toes off of the board. Very nice man, thank you for taking the time to make this. ive been super inconsistent with heelflips and have lost them many times, hopefully this video helps. the tips for hangtime, jumping and the flick definitely helped remind and point out flaws

I’ve grown so accustomed to doing them with my heel and flicking straight. However, I found that I rocket flip just about every time and they are not coming off the ground much. I have a pretty good kickflip and I like the idea of treating this trick just like a kickflip essentially. I find that many people who have a great heelflip follow this method. I’m going to try to learn it through this method.

This was an amazing tutorial video for heelflips. I've always had trouble with heelflips. I've landed a few, but it's definitely one of my most inconsistent tricks. This video really showed the foot placement and the timing and foundation of the trick. Really broke down the components and was a really well put together video. Heelflips are my only flip trick. However, I can only do them on a bank to fakie. I haven't landed it on flat or up the bank yet. I just keep putting the work it.

This tutorial has really helped me a lot! I've been able to do heelflips but not consistently. The part about not hang the toes to a side and flicking it with the pinky really got my rotation and the board centered under me. Thanks to you I'm sure this will be as consistent as my ollies soon. A lot of the people that know how to heelflip, do them with the back foot on the pocket and the front foot really on the side of the board, I wanna learn how he does them because they just look so clean every time

I hang my toes off the end and it works just fine. Often times, if I don’t do that, then I can’t get the board to rotate. But, your explanation makes sense, I’ll try to do it that way too to see how it feels.
Hanging your toes off works for sure! I think you can balance better and get more pop with my setup. Doing them with your foot hanging off is just fine. Thanks for watching!

Literally spent almost a year trying to heelflip by sticking out my toes over my board. Never got better. Took the advice from this one and kept my foot more on the board like an ollie and got it in a sesh. Thanks a lot man.

I finally found people to skate with today but they’re a lot better than me so I don’t think they’ll stick around but if I learn these and kickflips I think I’ll be good enough for them👍🏽
Hopefully they will still accept you either way. They were on your level at some point, keep that in mind. Its really good to skate with people better than you. It will help you progress much faster!

Thanks for the most helpful and in depth tutorial, I hope with these added tips I can land my heel flips. I’m having trouble with my back foot landing on the board. I can flick it nice and over flip it but my back foot wants to plant on the ground immediately
This is one of the most common things I hear with most tricks. It takes some effort to make yourself pull your back leg up. I always say to pop and pull your knee up towards your chest to get it back above the board. Let me know when you land it.
