- The magical girl genre started in Japan, but the West has its share as well. I’ve found 5 obscure magical girl series from the US and Europe: Rescue Sirens, Sleepless Domain, Mystical, Girls of Olympus and Fantasy Patrol.

Western magical girl shows aren't really imitators. They just get inspired. They have their own identities.
Take ace attorney and danganronpa for example. Similar yet different ideas.
Total drama and survivor both have some similarities but manage to have their own identities

Chris Sanders! That alone made me instantly look up Rescue Sirens as soon as I heard the name. IMHO the man is a legend in animation and character design and I'll always give his work a look.
I'm glad I was able to find something interesting for you. There are a lot of talented creators out there and they deserve attention.
As an spanish person that has read Mystical, I can tell you that mystical and dark mystical(following series) is really really good. It is not really story driven since it centers more on the relationships between these girls from really different backgrounds which will make it hard to cooperate each other, plus it has a bit of "i don't want to be the chosen one" cliché in one of them and that keeps things interesting.
The story is also good. Considering I enjoyed being a grown adult and it is a book series for 8 year old kids, even thought it could have been more deep, it's fantastic
I gotta say that I haven't read dark mystical yet, but it is for teens so maybe what I have commented does change in there
I do wanna try reading it myself but I don't speak and read Spanish and this series kinda looks better than Miraculous to me.

Adorned by Chi and Princess Love-Pon are also two virtually unheard of magical girl works outside of Japan. Although the first one is made in Nigeria. But still! It makes my heart melt to see more Black magical girl leads! Just like Sleepless Domain, we need more of it!

W.I.T.C.H. is certainly less well known than some other franchises, but it still has a following.
Justifiably so.
I still have my W.I.T.C.H. Happy Meal this from around 2005, so I wouldn't say it's obscure! definitely less popular & well known than it used to be though.
@@ThePrincessUmbrellaI own all six McDonald's W.I.T.C.H. action figures. The tv show received bad ratings in the USA despite Disney hiring Greg Weisman to show run Season Two. He stated in a interview for a British podcast that bad US ratings prevented Season Three from being created. It was bad distribution and poor time slots that doomed the show. Plus, Disney failed to properly market the property in the United States.
@@StupidPrivate913Any chance you could review the W.I.T.C.H. tv show one day ? It isn't on Disney Plus yet but is available for free on UA-cam. There's a graphic novel reboot available in the fall but so far only in Italy and France. The art style doesn't match the quality of the original W.I.T.C.H. artstyle.

Find old cartoons TV series I remember watching this show with Danny phantom in Same channel, I only watched a few episodes and would love to find it again I don't remember the whole story because I haven't seen it all But it's about a young girl who accidentally have magic boots, It helps her to fly this is almost her full ability, accompanied by a hero suit resembling a bee With Yellow and Brown on the shirt, blue jeans, and a black and yellow cape Her face looks like a hood covering her hair with a mask, her name is The mysterious girl or girl flying or something like that, she have a master/ teacher form Chinese Sometimes he give a lesson about magic or destiny in every episode, Like every show at the time It about secret, The heroine hides her hero Identity with her friend and fights the villains every episode, She fights an underworld leader with him wearing a skull mask to hide his true identity, every screen time of him often have a blue or green flame on his back, He's a magician who wants to steal the magic from the heroine's boot I remember there was an episode where he hypnotized the hero to force her to marry him and give the boot for him, There is an episode where he creates a clone of the hero and the two fight To see who is real. If anyone knows the name please tell me I've been looking for it for 4-5 years, I wish when I was a kid I wrote down the name of the show.

Girls of Olympus is on BBC IPlayer right now. No idea how long for or if the BBC ever showed it on the kids channel and I missed it but it's there.

Sleepless Domain and Mystical looks dope. TBH, Shoujo genre has been having a hard time making it into the anime industry and Mahou Shoujo is one of them.
I do wanna see a Shoujo anime that has magical heroes that breaks stereotypes like including Magical Boys too not as a ridicule but as one of the heroes.
Very true. Thankfully they've made some more Shoujo anime, like Sacrificial Princess, Vampire Dormitory, sugar apple fairy tale and a few others. And in terms of magical boys, precure finally gave us a proper main male cure in Soaring Sky.
