Thank you very much for this video. I just recently contacted Lenovo for this exact problem and was told exactly what you said they would say. I have purchased my LAST Lenovo product, however thank you for the modified fix. Other than the poor quality hinge, the laptop works great after only a few months
Thanks for the message all of the laptop brand have a hinge problem crack etc,, even the gaming laptops it all depends on the after sales service. For experience on Lenovo you just have to adjust the hinge so the laptop would not crack/LCD crack even the keyboard assembly. Thanks for watching, stay safe.. gladly help.

Is there another similar laptop -also touchscreen and 15.6" size- that you would recommend? Thanks very much for this video, by the way.
@@DianneJ.B don't go for the touchscreen they are problem with Lenovo I don't recommend buying touchscreen for laptop. Every unit has defect with hinge.

Hi thanks for the message. You will have to disassembly the unit first. First battery comes first always. Just go with the process 😁 no shortcut method on this.. don't remove the mainboard.

Hello sorry for late reply. Thanks for messaging this laptop model 320-330 you cannot short cut the disassembly procedure on this.. all will dis-aasemble first thing to do is the battery remove first so that flex cable don't short and motherboard also is safe..
Thanks... My Ideapad 520 was disassembled and the outer edge of the battery was bulged upto 3-5mm (this model has 2 cell battery) should I replace it??? Or is it safe to use?
Hello thanks for the message replace it with same model of battery. You can use without battery.
Replace the battery. Don't use it throw it properly.. it's unsafe to use it may burn your laptop..

Yes you can use adhesive. How come you broke your hinge cup? or it suddenly remove from the unit. No shortcut method on this unit when forcing on the LCD panel. Thanks for messaging.
@@jakobstech5028 i just forcefully pull it out without sliding it. But I have fixed it, thank you for this video... Most of the high viewed video have shown the wrong method. U did a great job👍

@Dr. Sajad Ahmed Badvi I put some hot glue on the broken locks and in voids.. But don't put glue on hinge screws.
@Dr. Sajad Ahmed Badvi dont put hot glue directly on the wire. Put the glue on the cap only and then settle it down on the screen's hinge..

Hello Jakob my hinge is also broken and my screen display does also not turn on. Is this because my hinges broke ??
1. Is your laptop has no display or you can't open because of the hinge?
2. Is your laptop has no power?
@@jakobstech5028 one of my hinges has been Detached and when I turn on my laptop it turns on but the screen does not display anything dpi think I have to get my screen replaced too ?
Dis-assemble your unit and maybe check the flex cable on the LCD panel and on the mainboard. Before you do that remove battery first, safety first

1. If your unit has a warranty don't open the laptop(it has warranty seal on the mainboard) if you want to adjust the hinge you don't remove the Mainboard with seal or else NO Warranty..
2. If your unit has no warranty you can DIY to adjust the hinge on.. ty hope this would help

This was the worst purchase I ever made back in 2018. I had nothing but issues with that piece of junk machine. It was the slowest hunk of junk I have ever owned, lagged more than actually did anything and eventually ended up getting cracked in half across my knee with very litter effort, and is on its way to the landfill. I even tried upgrading the RAM and did nothing more to increase performance. My mother recently upgraded her laptop, and gave me her old one. I am using a 10 year old gateway NV53A from 2010 that has more power and stability than that POS sorry excuse for a laptop. I installed more RAM and bought a new battery pack for it and it works fantastic! I will never own a Lenovo product as long as I live, THAT is for sure!
Hello thanks for the message. Will you know laptop now require more ram/memory and ssd. You can try to upgrade SSD it will boot faster. You know laptop this days if you did not upgrade that is a piece of junk because of the windows 10 requirements..The series of the Lenovo is the Thinkpad of course ram will upgrade SSD/m.2 nvme more power to laptop now adays.. thanks for the message..

I did not understand how to do it :( My left hinge is "trapping" the cover, so when I try to open or close, it pushes the plastic cover away ( I have to push with my finger to keep it in place). I dont know how to fix it and watching this video confused me soooo much

If you don't do anything on your laptop and if it's your first time don't try it or try to DIY repair your unit.. But if u want it is worth the experience repairing your own laptop.. in the future you want have any problem to take care of ur own Laptop. Hope my tutorial u can follow.. thanks for watching
Wish I had watched this video before shattering the screen on mine thanks to those faulty hinges. What an awful laptop, I swear I've never seen anything like it. Hot air vents blocked by the hinge cover when they could've put them in the empty right side, an awful screen that lacks color, specially red and can't be calibrated at all and a terrible build quality 🤦. Can't believe I paid 600€ for it
