Great video! Bought a replacement LCD on ebay for ~$100. Lenovo repair center wanted to charge me $350 with labor to fix. Just a tip: for anyone trying to buy a replacement screen, make sure it says that it is Touch/Stylus compatible!

Beginners!! ALWAYS remove battery cable from motherboard FIRST before attaching new display. i"ve fried 2 motherboards during my PC repairing career... Expensive lessons.
I wish I could leave a yelp review or something. 10/10, this video was a lifesaver. I am absolutely useless with computers and now I have a crack free screen and it actually wasn’t as scary as I was anticipating! Awesome video!
Very helpful, thanks for making the video! One issue I ran into is that the screen didn't come on after swapping in the new one. I tried going back to the old screen (that was cracked) and it didn't come on either. Uh oh... As a troubleshooting step, I tried plugging an external monitor into the HDMI port to verify the laptop was working otherwise. For whatever reason, both the laptop screen and external monitor fired right up at that point and everything was good to go going forward. I also had to do a Windows update as mentioned elsewhere in the comments to get the touch screen to work after the swap.
Thanks so much for this good instruction. I have a Flex 5, two years old, that has been having some display-issues, most notably some 'foggy' appearance around the edges of the screen and vertical green bars that come and go depending on what's being displayed, but none of this appears in video that goes out the HDMI to another screen, indicating an issue with the screen itself rather than the video processing, although recently using the HDMI connection has started making the video freeze altogether on both screens. If I can at least fix the hardware problem with the screen I'll be happy enough to avoid having to buy a new laptop for a while. It also has issues with the battery apparently not holding a charge, but that's another discussion and I can live with that for the time being.
Hi Thank you for watching the video, sorry for stating the obvious have you installed the latest drivers, i would also go directly to the manufacturers website and update the graphics drivers from there, please let me know.
Hey man. I can't express how appreciative I am of this video. I have been bombarded with issues regarding my screen and touch screen digitizer and getting a complete run around from multiple repair shops. Basically, I paid for a repair, first store did not move the touch control board/digitizer and place it underneath the bezel as you have here. Resulted in that part breaking, and heat escaping and damaging the case. Of course, I don't know any better, and a different store (same company) requests a new quote for a repair. I said no, bought a part online and found your wonderful video. Thank you so very much for taking your time on this and uploading it!

Hi, had the same problem with the Lenovo touchscreen driver(showing a yellow warning triangle in Device Manager). Have tried looking everywhere for the correct Wacom software but no luck. The laptop was originally win 11 so I even tried a Win 10 download, still no luck!. Was the driver on your laptop a Wacom pen driver? Any info would be greatly appreciated as it's driving me nuts :))
Hi Thank you for getting in touch, I would recommend you do a windows update and click on optional updates and check all the boxes then update. I am sure this will work. Apologies for the late reply, please let me know how you get on. good luck
I found a fix for this issue (the touchscreen stops working after getting out of sleep or hibernate mode): 1. Go to "Device Manager" -> "Human Interface Devices" 2. If "Wacom Device" has yellow warning triangle - right click on it and uninstall the device, then choose "Scan for hardware changes" by right-clicking on any other device or from "Action" tab of the menu 3. "Mice and other pointing devices" -> find and disable "HID-compliant mouse" (the one that has Location set to "on Wacom Device" in its properties) 4. Restart your laptop (this step is necessary) Please reply or like if this fix worked for you. Thank you.
Too bad the original gravity sensor isn't applicable to the new screen... so now we need another driver. Oh well. Maybe the last driver wasn't compatible that's why it ended up breaking 😊😊
