Interesting test, thanks for this, it really showed the effects of using the compound first. I wonder what the results would be like if polishing by hand? Stay safe
Generally by hand is fine. But requires a lot more effort, and can result in uneven polishing since you likely wont be putting in the same amount of passes everywhere. Plus, a random orbital polishes randomly. Whereas by hand, you tend tk do similar strokes which can show in the final product.

@@quickspoolgarage Thank you so much for your reply.
Most of the hood already lost the flaky clear coat leaving the exposed oxidized paint.
I’ve seen videos where people wet sand and apply 2K clear coat. I would appreciate to know what you think of this method. Would it work?
@@yonosotros8 wash the car, use degreaser on bad clearcoat area, use clay bar and iron remover for contaminant removal
you need to wet sand off the clear coat then respray new clearcoat but your paint will be uneven due to uv damage and unbalanced clearcoat deterioration
you will need to garage your vehicle for 24 hours while the clearcoat dries to prevent orange peel effect from wind
What goes after the compound & polish ? Wax ???
Yes follow it up with a hood wax to help preserve the shine.
Great video thank you so much for sharing 👍👍
Thanks for watching
Could this be done for a first time learner?
Absolutely
Great work thanks 😎
Hola, muy buen video, aclaro mucho mis dudas
Thanks for viewing
So on a vehicle with no oxidation do I need the compound ?
Lots of variables but I’d say all you need the the polish and then follow it with meguiars ultimate wax
It looks both works Good
I think so too!
Interesting test, thanks for this, it really showed the effects of using the compound first.
I wonder what the results would be like if polishing by hand?
Stay safe
Thanks, this hood was extremely oxidized. I could see this polish working very well by hand on a more maintained vehicle that is not uv damaged.
Generally by hand is fine. But requires a lot more effort, and can result in uneven polishing since you likely wont be putting in the same amount of passes everywhere. Plus, a random orbital polishes randomly. Whereas by hand, you tend tk do similar strokes which can show in the final product.
