Does the front camera continue to work while you share your screen on power point? so that everyone can still see you while you are sharing your screen, within another app?
Assuming things haven't changed in the past few months, the iPad camera turns off for other people on the call as soon as you switch away from the Teams app to a different app. This happens on the Zoom app too.

We share calendars, files, contact information etc. But as soon as I open up a spreadsheet for example, the screen sharing immediately breaks. Why wouldn't sharing an excel sheet be seen as a completely necessary function for this platform? I am asking rhetorical questions in my frustration but to this day I am puzzled as to why people praise Teams so often when it fails at something I consider to be fundamentally necessary.

@@aphroditechic9002 What you suggest should work fine. The only thing to watch out for is feedback between the two devices. To avoid that, just make sure the iPad speaker volume is turned all the way down to 0, and make sure the iPad microphone is muted on the Teams call. Then, you're listening to the call through your laptop, participating in the conversation through your laptop, and sharing your screen on the laptop. At that point, the iPad essentially serves only as a way to see the rest of the meeting--it's like a second screen dedicated to the Teams app.
@@aphroditechic9002 Alternatively, you can turn down the speaker volume on the computer, mute/turn off the mic on the computer, and use the iPad's speakers and microphone instead. That would also work just fine. Basically, one device needs to be used for all audio/microphone input, and the other device needs to be completely muted/no volume. You could use either device for video/webcam.

Hi, when you broadcast to Teams using the technique I've shown here, the iPad doesn't actually produce a recording that gets saved anywhere. It simply uses the built-in screen recording functionality and repurposes it so that the screen gets shared with the live Teams video call. A recording isn't made during that process.
Once I'm sharing the content through the ipad with the screen recording option, how do I view my students to be sure they are following through with the work?
The Teams iPad app doesn't offer that functionality, unfortunately. If you're a teacher sharing your screen on the Teams iPad app, you'd need to log into the call on another device to see your students. (You can log into the call using the same account on two different devices.) Just a note--if your students are on the Teams call using an iPad, then their cameras will automatically turn off as soon as they split their screen or navigate from the Teams app to a different app.
Follow the instructions to share your screen. Once your screen is shared, hit the home button on the iPad and open Excel. Others on the call will see what you're doing and will be able to view your Excel workbook.
From the Teams call, you can tap the screen to view the main toolbar near the bottom. Click the 3 dots, and you should see a 'raise hand' button. If you don't see this, then you may have an older version of the Teams app.

Some schools restrict students from downloading apps and control which apps show up on students' iPads. In other cases, if you delete the app but have an old iPad, you may not be able to install the newest version of the app. Definitely talk to a technology specialist at your school to find out how to get the newest version of the app.

I found out that powerpoint sharing is possible if you have a non-basic account.

Is there any way to Share screen on ipad WITHOUT recording? In iPad OS 13.2.3, there is no option to Share. The only option is to Start recording.

Go to control centre in settings and enable screen recording from there

Shashi Shukla is right. Unfortunately, Microsoft hasn't built the functionality to allow iPads to share their computer sounds/audio.
