Ok, every podcast I watch that has yarn shelves are always Ikea. I think it might be a good marketing idea for Ikea to start having a yarn storage section!!! 😂
I so appreciate that you discussed your Musselburgh hat problem. Shows me that you are human and not all of your projects finished perfectly! I feel better 😊
Love your sweater and seeing your sweet Elvis 💜
I LOVE Dionne's whole approach to her craft - the organization, the rules and her use of color is mind-blowing! So fun!!
Thank you. It’s a lot of fun and I love how the scrappy project all come out. ❤
❤thank you. It’s so much fun working with scraps and I love how all my different projects have such a different look to them. ❤
It’s so good that you had that time to rest. Your friend seems lovely
Lovely to meet Dionne and see her lovely stash which was so kind of her to show us around, love her little dog too! Really loving how your Hexie blanket is looking! Take care x
Ok LOVE DIONNE! And would love to see more house yarny tours 🤩
❤❤you are so sweet! Love your patterns. And I agree I do hope Natalie does more yarn tours!
Dionne is a gem! Thank you for allowing us into your home, and letting us see your stash and your projects.
I love how every gram of yarn has purpose.
(Your sweater is just stunning). ❤
I agree! She was so sweet to allow us to see her stash and then she nailed it with the tour!
Thank you so much. It was great fun visiting with Natalie and sharing my yarn stash and projects.
Hi Natalie. It was lovely to meet your friend Dionne and see her stash and the projects she is creating. The scrappy blankets are lovely. So great you and Toaster have had time to recharge. Drive safe.
I have the same arrangement (Ikea Billy + glass doors) as Dionne, it's really nice!
I loved Dionne’s craft room organization. What great ideas. Very inspiring. Glad you had such a great visit and had some time to relax and wind and unwind.🙃💖
Thank you so much!❤ it was such fun getting the opportunity to share my stash and my projects.
I am really loving your hexie blanket.
I think the cloud stitch marker refers to a song lyric that states that it only rains after sundown in Camelot.
A little bit of musselborough physics:
First of all, since the two crowns will always lay on top of each other the top crown will be a few millimeters further from where the “fold” is than the bottom crown. This means that the hat will never be able to “fold” at the exact same place on both sides.
(by “fold” I mean the place where the hat goes from being the inside to being the outside).
Second, when you want to move the “fold” you need to knit double the amount of rows you want the “fold” to move.
This is because of how the hat is knit.
Imagine folding a peace of 4 inch paper I half. Now you have 2 Inch on each side. If you add 2 inches to one side of the paper. Now the paper will have 2 inch on one side and 4 inches to the other side. If you want the two edges to meet again. You will have 3 inches on each side.
The point: you add 2 inch to the unfolded peace of paper. The folded peace will then only have grown 1 inch.
Sorry if this was confusing, Engelsh is not my first language ❤️
I love how you have so many lovely friends you can stay with! Loved the update! Dionne seems like a doll! Glad Toaster is having a fun doggy play date ❤ Love watching all your adventures!!!
It was such fun having Natalie come stay and Toaster and my dog Leon had an absolute ball!
Dionne’s yarn stash tour was so fun! I’m so glad that you and Kent had time to exhale 💛
Wow, Dionne's sweater just sent me down a path studying Sidsel Sangild's designs. She is a truly amazing crochet designer!
She’s a fabulous crochet designer! I’m glad you got the chance to discover her patterns. I love them!
So love watching your episode and you did look rested and happy. Your friend Dione has the best yarn collection and such a beautiful collection of knitty Natty yarn.
I’m So glad you enjoyed the PNW and I can’t wait till you come back to Portland, OR and we can maybe meet in person 💖
If you add a few rows there is gonna be more of the stockinette visible on the rib side. The fold really takes a few rows, so you'll never get the smooth transition both ways like you want to.
Love Coastal Yarns!! Was just in Cannon Beach for a Women's Conference and of course had to visit the store and get a skein to make a hat. 😍
Wow! Those scrappy blankets are beautiful! Love the “rules”! Dionne and Natalie thanks for sharing ❤
I loved the section with Dionne! Always so fun to see more crocheters especially. And I love watching people use circular sock machines, so it was fun to hear about that too. It would be really cool if, in future there could be more stuff like that in the podcast. I know not everyone wants to be on camera of course, but it would be so cool to see a segment of rotating guests and their projects/stash if you're staying at someone's house and they're comfortable filming with you.
Thank you ❤ I love crochet and my CSM best so I’m glad others found it interesting
I love seeing our Coastal yarns crocheted up in your hexis! Wow, you’re love in stitches member/friend was so accommodating I really enjoyed seeing her organization!
Thank you. ❤
Love Dionne’s shelving set up.
Thank you!❤
OMG those scrap projects are AMAZING!!!
Thank you! I really do love working with scraps.
I never saw such beautiful scrap blankets !
Thank you ❤
Love your podcast so much! Dionne did a fabulous job and was quite inspiring.
Thank you ❤ It was such fun sharing.
I am super intrigued to hear what you think of the fit of the strong heel. FWIW i like the look of the ribbing continuing in the gusset area.
If you come through Oklahoma again you should check out Yarnatopia in south Oklahoma City. It’s my favorite LYS, it’s pretty large and the ladies who run it are super nice!
I just did 5.5 inches of rib so that both "sides" were the same. I love the rib because it gives me a better fit. BTW my first one had stripes on the brim which I give you credit for, since your video gave ideas on how to modify the pattern. Hope you visit Skein Yarn Shop in RI and Driftwood Yarns in CT.
So nicd to see Dionne's yarn stash and scrappy projects!🥰
But in the rainbow scrappy blanket, where's the colour going to go after purple?!😱
Thank you! After the purple I’m going to start over again with red. So in essence it will be a very colorful stripey throw.
@@chooseyarnyt I love it🥰
Love the color of your musselborough hat! Once you have it exactly like you want it, it will be a favorite for sure! Your persistence will pay off! I’ve never regretted the time invested to make a project like I wanted!
Your Musselburre is so so nice pattern I am also busy with one for my daughter. Ribbing turn over busy to prepare for winter. Knitting in around so nice
Cammelot box so beautiful yarn and Stitchmakers so pretty
Redstack new yarn look so wonderful. The manor collection look so interesting
A privilege to can buy non superwash in South Africa not available
Beautiful yarn collection of your friend. The glass look amazing.
O my heart the scrappy bottles so pretty
So surprised to see you’ve been in Marysville. I lived there and raised my kids there , 27 years ago!!!
Did you go to any other yarns stores in Wa ?
@Genia Davies I love all the projects that you show. My favorite is the Hexi Blanket. I have enjoyed all the states and yarn shops and other places that you, Kent, and Toaster visit. You have motivated me to make a Cozy memory blanket. I am doing one knitted and a crocheted one. Mine is using the left over yarn from blankets that I have made for family and friends so I will have a piece from their blankets.😊 I'm enjoying doing both.😊 Can't wait to see more of your adventures.
Hi Natalie. Love the yarns you've chosen and the stitch markes are cute (looks like a cloud with a rain drop). About the hat, when ever you feel like giving up, just think about Edison and how many times he had to try making the light bulb. Glad you and Kent are enjoying your travels. as for your hostess, I love her collection and the sigh in her display 😊. I've also been knitting a yarn cozy in colors based on Hogwarts house colors. Thought I'd make all four of them to help with stash busting. (I'm a ravenclaw.) Stay safe. Happy to see Toaster having fun.
Oh you must read Braiding Sweetgrass. It is incredible. Love your Cozi!
That Camelot yarn is gorgeous!! Loved seeing the beautiful yarn collection and great inspiration for using scraps and micro skeins. Travel safe!
So pretty right!
I love that green Oregon yarn 🧶 hexi !!
It's perfect for the Ducks!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
I love your updates. I know absolutely nothing about blocking but couldn’t you block your hat into the shape you need? Idk if that’s even possible and if so it would probably increase the blocking time. I am glad you’re fixing it to your liking. I have so many finished crochet pieces that just don’t fit perfectly because of a tiny design flaw or going rogue with the pattern. So I understand your need for it to be absolutely right in your eyes. Dionne is a beautiful soul. I’m definitely going to organize my scraps now. Safe travels and enjoy your continued journey. So happy you were able to rest and recharge while accomplishing some things you can’t do in the road.
One question… did you try to take your knitting to the hockey game this time? 🫣
I’m curious how many miles you have put on your van since you began your yarny adventure? 😂
You were only an hour South of me!
I don’t get why the mussleburgh hat needs the ribbing and not just do the whole thing in stockinette?
Can you tell us how you get your mail? Those two purple skeins you showed us that were a gift. How did you arrange for them to get to you?
If I signed up today; would I get the Camelot yarn?
Natalie which size pattern did you follow for the yarn cozy?? I have your patterns. I just don’t know which one to follow. I want to make one for holding my yarn like a yarn bowl. I love the stripe look. Did you hold the fingering weight double?? Thanks so much. Thanks for getting me hooked on crochet. I love it.
A half month “advent” is not an advent. I wish we would normalize calling them countdown kits. Advent is a specific season in the Christian calendar and I think moving to the “countdown” term would be more inclusive of people who practice other or no religion.
Thank you for pointing this out. Honestly, I never really thought about it before and used advent for all sorts of countdown yarn products. I’ll try to be more accurate moving forward! ❤
#Question is anyone else noticing sound issues with the last few episodes? Mine cuts out every few words for a word or two.
