- We are continuing our journey along the River Walk of Marikina! After playing some epic carnival games and exploring the Marikina Riverbank Carnvial, we decided to keep hiking down the river park trail and see what we could find! We were met with so many friendly locals saying "Hi" and wanting to talk to us, a lot of friendly kids who after talking to for about an hour we got to do some buying filipino kids ice cream in marikina content, and once again we met another viewer! After all the excitement through the park and seeing so many animal statues, real animals, and zumba classes.. we got absolutely poured on by what seemed like another super typhoon in the philippines! We finished the day off with a trip to the mall and all was said in done in Marikina! We will be back to explore the city another day!

Filipino mostly kids are curious to see you both as foreigners strolling around their neighborhood and one of the reasons they are approaching and looking at you because you are both a good looking guys. You are both “Pogi” in english means handsome.
16:58 that kid just said "ingat kayo pag uwi n'yo" which translates to "take care when you go home" aww that was so sweet 💕🤣👍
It's cool that you both are candidly generous to give your time to let these kids take a pic.
That is so sweet! Those kids were having fun with you and wanting to speak in english. They were excited and curious they probably don’t encounter foreigners and bec you guys look different from them. Some were shy, some eager to speak whatever english they know. You guys are so kind to entertain and treat them. Made me smile while watching 😊
Just to add… don’t worry they didn’t say anything weird or rude. They called you KUYA out of respect it’s addressing an older brother. One of them asked where you live 😁 They ask for money bec they want to buy a treat like ice cream or candy 🍭🍬🍦🍨They wanted to say your nose looks nice bec probably they have flatter noses (Asian) they were pretty much just curious bec you look different and wanted to speak in english. Thanks for doing that for them I’m sure they went home happy and excited 😊
It's ok to say no to people asking for money. Many would try to ask money, especially when they see that you are vlogging, because there are content creators who do some sort of "poverty porn" to attract viewers, since there is a market for that kind of content in youtube. The effect is that, when people see vloggers, they associate them with giving money to random strangers, so they try their luck.
Treating those kids to ice cream on the other hand, is alright and is really a good gesture on your part. I enjoyed that part when they were really thankful.
I always look forward to your uploads! :D
Here's a rundown:
You guys walked the entire Marikina River Banks meet some lovely kids brought them ice creams, NICE!
Saw some kids doing Zumba or Tiktok dances.
Saw some basketball games.
Got soaked again with the rain waited for 30 minutes.
Went back to go to the Ayala mall and never bought the Reeses Puffs 'coz it's expensive.
Saw a dead cat while walking back to the Santolan MRT station.
You had a very long day. I'm pretty sure you walked at least 9 miles/ 14 kms. VERY EPIC! 👍
18:52 "kuya" is a respect for elder brother. can also be used to someone u dont know
Im impressed how you understand them knowing nothing about our language 👌🇵🇭
The way you bought those kids ice cream puts a smile on my face. Even just a bit of ice cream can make those kids’ day
Imma translate what some of them said:
4:43 she was asking “is it cold in the US?”
9:26 the boy asked “Where are you from?”
9:43 i think they said something about the kids not understanding English? I couldn’t hear them properly. All I heard them say was “kids”, “understand” and “English”
13:45 a rough translation: the man was thankful to you guys and said that you gave him a good Christmas gift?? I also couldn’t hear him well 😅
Thank you for sharing your blessings with the locals.
nice to see you interacting with the kids, but be mindful and alert always, keep safe! anticipating your adventure in maginhawa street 👍💯
I love how all the girls were having difficulties speaking english and there's this one girl who can easily do that!
Thank you guys for the kindness.
My day isn’t complete without seeing these two young men. Enjoy your ride
Girl in bike with adult guy asked: “is it cold in the US?”
Boy in red: “saan kayo nakatira?” “Where do you live?”
Adult guys in bikes afterward: they’re just talking about needing to speak in English to understand.
The ice cream guy basically asked for extra for Christmas. Basically asking for a tip. He did mentioned you have a lot of money in your wallet.
The kids are still talking with respect using “po” as a sign or respect and calling you “kuya” means older brother.
Finally! I was getting scared that the daily vlogs would change. Your videos always make my day!
Woww amazing.😀
I'm from Marikina . Marikina River Park is under construction. They are currently rehabilitating the park . More dredging has been done on the river. Its not the usual Marikina River .
Oh my gosh! I feel sorry for these kids who are asking money. What a shame. Their parents did not teach them good manners. But im proud to these kids also who are friendly. Antway, there are more Filipino kids who are polite, shy first but friendly. Filipino here watching from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Naah! Greater Manila(Or even highdensity urban cities) is really into Husstle culture thats why.
Don't judge those kids bonehead you have no right
The Marikina River Park is usually clean. But because of the recent flood, the trash from other cities usually end up in that part of the city. So the local government are dredging them out the river. I hope they transport that soon though. I do love my city because it is chill.
The timing of this video is just so perfect. I just commented last video asking if you 2 are brothers and now, question answered bc of those kids. Lol thanks for this video!
Bless the both of you for providing us the content we all need during these difficult times. You guys just bring out the joy in all of us, really. I hope the best of luck to both of you in each step of the way.
The kid (boy) asked you where do you live hehe. Very sweet of you buying ice cream for all the kids. OTTO is a shoe brand, Marikina is the shoe capital of the Philippines BTW :) Oh and btw all that walkway are you went to gets flooded during typhoons. The the big heaps of garbage are actually landfill. OOOH and then it rained!! hahah At least it got cooler lol. OOH and AYALA MALL! I think you made it to Felix! Very epic!!!! hahah Fun video guys!!!! Enjoyed it from start to finish!! 🤩

It’s always nice seeing strangers sharing something to kids. Glad u epic guys enjoyed the friendliness of kids in their most genuine and innocent ways. PS: it’s kinda normal to some households for kids to ask for money to older men - like brothers, uncles, fathers, kinda used to that gesture as well :)
Asking money from people they know. Not from total strangers.
Man, this is so nice. Such a hidden gem. Love your interactions with the people!
Most Filipinos especially kids want to take picture with good looking foreigner like you guys. But I don’t like when they’re asking for money.
You’re so generous for taking picture with them.
Pinagbigyan lang sila Kasi makukulit sila.. tapos naghihingi pa Ng Pera. Yan Ang Hindi magandang TURO NG mga ibang magulang dito sa pinas.. nakakahiya

OMG!!! You've been to Marikina!!! I'm from Marikina, I should have known.
When the kid said “welcome to the philippines” then asking if they have money 😂 very Filipino kid HAHAHAHA
You should visit Antipolo City at night time, overlooking the city lights, while eating in some restaurants up there.
i’m really impressed on how much you walk in most of your videos 😱
God bless you 🙏 guys 👦 🙏 ❤ 🙌 stay healthy ❤ and stay safe guys 🙏😇
Welcome to Marikina City, thanks for visiting my hometown, thanks for coming to the Philippines 🇵🇭, keep safe always.
Filipino kids are always curious. Or should i say, kids in general. They always ask for coins. Simple joy. Trust me, they always do that even if you are not foreigner. I got that alot, especially in family reunion, i was always asked: do you have games on your celfon? Haha. But since you are foreigner, they are more curious. After that, they even brag about the encounter 😂😂
