Besides great reactions/entertainment this channel is great for discovering new bands
Night Verses and Fever333 for example..!!
I also found so many good bands through this channel. I love it!
Exactly. I started getting into the whole "prog metal" thing with Animals as Leaders and then started finding new stuff under reactions to Rüdinger's drumming.
TOOOOOOOOOOOTALLY
Brother! We totally don’t mind you expounding on things you enjoyed after the drumming video is through - we love hearing your thoughts!
As insane as this playthrough is, the 40 minute solo he did with meinl is even more insane
That one is pure bliss. Even for non-drummers.
Holy fucking shit dude, you weren’t kidding I’m like 5 minutes in and my mind is already blown DUDE HAS TO REACT TO IT
This!
Saw it live. Mind blown...
Thanks man ... That was a trip
In terms of groovability and varied tunes, not just songs about eating dead baby corpses, this guy is probably one of the best I've seen so far.
Unbelievable ambidextrosity.
What other kind of baby corpses are there? 🤔
Totally, fell in love with his drumming since his guitar center drum off
Aric Importa is truly a modern day drumming innovator.
Never heard of this guy, to be honest...
@@mcmlxxxviimcmxcvi8641 He's fairly new to the scene, he's a young block. You can look up his bands Night Verses and Fever 333. Won't be disappointed
@@yousefabudaqar6728 I knew his name sounded familiar! I heard of him with Fever 333!
@@yousefabudaqar6728 Fever 333 is garbage though
i agree, i follow drum stuff and do drum. maybe not as excellent as these guys but i love to have some good fun and understanding. needless to say, aric is no doubt an underdog in the community and very different. he literally drums to his own beat and comes up with things and its amazing. his creativity reminds me of how i need to be, open. anyways, he has a big channel on youtube and is a great person.
“Do you know how fucking hard that is?!” is all of us who’ve ever played drums when we watch some of these dudes play. Love it.
I can also attest to Aric being one of the friendliest musicians I've ever met. I got to see Night Verses at a small venue and was chatting drum stuff with him after the show. He ended up signing and giving me one of his broken sticks from the performance. I'm glad you got to witness his absolute crazy genius!
Christ on a bike, this guy is frenetic!
Thank you so much for the reaction-video! With your help more or less I constantly descover new great drummers/musicians. Keep it coming! :-))
Sick drummer and great band
Have you seen the drum chain videos Aric has done where he gets multiple great drummers to compose parts and then he stitches them together into one song? I really love those.
My fav drummer. Period.
Yes
Yes finally aric!!!
That spinny hemiola text. Definitely love it. All for little improvements in production.
One of my favorite albums of 2018! Whole band is amazing, but the drummer is insane!!
You should really react the MEINL solo that he did called "Blur-Lights in the Videodrome" it's really impressive what he accomplishes not only in technicality but in creativity and soul. A true innovator on the field.
I cant remember how I found your channel, but when I did, you had just over a thousand subs at the time. Now you’re up over 40k, and you totally deserve that and more. There’s something very endearing about your videos. A lot of “reactions” by more popular channels really just ham it up as much as possible. Where as you’re completely genuine. You’ll see their kit and make comments about what you’d like to see, what you think they’re going to do, etc. They’ll do something and you’ll be like a kid in a candy store, literally asking for it to happen again. Something will amaze you and instead of just leaving it at “that was dope!” You’ll add to it. Why it’s dope, why you like it rather than just liking it. You’re actually engrossed in what you’re watching, and it’s just really refreshing and entertaining. One of my favorites for sure. Keep up the solid work, my guy.
It's always interesting to hear people talk about metal technique from a different perspective with an open mind.
I once had a teacher (an acoustic artist) in a Bachelors of Songwring and Composition that refused to even acknowledge math metal and honestly it put me off the whole course. Your videos are the opposite of that and I love it. Please impart the jazz knowledge to us metal folk.
That being said, Id love to hear your thoughts on Clay Aeschliman and Polyphia. I recommend the OD playthrough.
Okay, that stick click groove is next fucking level. This dude has blown my mind in under a minute.
You've now discovered Night Verses. As a drummer, you're not the same anymore. Transformed. Born again.
Aric is hands down my fav drummer
Danny Carey "Pneuma" by Tool (Live in concert)
Finally Aric 👏 do more🙏
Danny Carey playing Pneuma. Awesome video quality
Chris Pennie playing Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin is something I've been wanting to watch you see for a while now.
Go check out some of his "Attention Deficit Drumming" videos on his channel. Dude's on some other shit.
Dude, this was awesome, haven't heard about this band until now and I love it already. Big thanks for that.
Hella - Been a Long Time Cousin (live)
What a song. Shame it's not the best quality!
Yes! Finally you did a review on this guy!
Fuckin love Aric's work, could watch those vids on repeat
0:04 -- That was fabulous, that's what that was.
If it wasn't impressive enugh, he draws those trippy heads himself!
I just realized that... I could of sworn he had made a comment at one time about being “inspired” about one of the members of incubus with those drum heads. I just wish he would of made one for an 18in floor Tom... not that I don’t mind doing mandalas myself. Having it between the two 7ply layers really keeps things together lol they are some amazing heads though!
Thanks for sharing that gem 🙏
I like how you don't pause it every other second. You point out the cool shit I can learn from and move on. Thank you.
Man I've been looking for this guys name for ages, thank you. I remember seeing some sort of demo of his about 8 years ago and loved it but forgot his name.
This dude is fucking amazing... I know most of the drummers you check out, but this dude is soooo awesome, like holy shit...
Love you, man :) You're always making my day!
Awesome!!👍
Remember having the same reaction first time I heard (and saw) the sticks clicking haha
Love this channel for the content!
The Mike Mangini drum solo he did for Drummer World is a fantastic thing to watch if you haven't seen it yet, incredible technical skill.
also his faces are priceless.
Inspiring to say the least. Thank you for bringing this to the light.
Glad this finally found you! Aric is fantastic and this is my favorite Night Verses track
One cool thing about your channel is that I'm discovering a lot drummers/bands I haven't heard of and it's introducing me to some new, good music, which is always awesome.
What a machine! 🙌🏼👏
He's so freaking good! I love him with Fever 333
Bro just stumbled across your channel love the drum reactions subscribed
Love your videos man. It’s so awesome how you break down some of the things the drummers are doing, just by watching for the first time; & i love your excitement & even surprise, at much of what you see in this genre. It (the genre of Metal in general) welcomes your incredibly talented Self. Thanks for your very informed portion. Wish we could hang. Cheers my fellow DrumDog 💎🤘🏽🙂
This guy bleeds groove ... wow and the crossovers are sick. So fluid and groovy. Amazing drummer.
Thomas Pridgen: Drum Play-Along - ’Hypnotized’
WORD
Finally! I’ve been waiting for you to watch Aric. Check out his solo called “Rocket Lost” it’s incredible
Aric Improta is the most dynamic drummer to hit the scene in years. I had a similar reaction the first time I heard this song. Night Verses is SO DOPE!
that was dope. definitely gonna check out more of Night Verses
I've literally been waiting for you to watch Aric play since I found your channel. He's probably my favorite drummer of all time. Doing shit NOBODY is doing and KILLING it! Also Night Verses is just fucking Stellar! Love everything they've put out.
My dude! Finally! Thanks
Very creative very much enjoy this video never heard of this guy until this reaction video neat little suprises all over the place
Actually adding to my own comment- he sorta reminds me of Luke Holland in his approach at times yet strong with his own identity and adding little percussive surprises makes for a fantastic video .Very entertaining
Just saw these guys live touring with the Faceless, Night Verses is FUCKING AMAZING!
YES!
Been waiting for you to check this guy out
These are the kind of reactions
I tune in for dude. Up there with the Mesuggah Clockwork and Snarky Puppy ones x
That was some super fucking tasteful and creative drumming.
my favorite band lately
This album is phenomenal!!! I can throw it on and it's a soundtrack to whatever I'm up to at that time. These guys are tight and this dude is a MONSTER.
We were digging to too bro. Thumbs up
Danny Carey | "Pneuma" by Tool (LIVE IN CONCERT)
Rad indeed!
This dude just blew my fucking head off.
I have not seriously been so excited about a new musician in a very, VERY long time.
Ho-LEE FUK!!!
From the Gallery of Sleep is a masterpiece of an album. I stumbled across in last year and it's been on my favourites list since. Trading Shadows is something else, as is Leviathan!
Finally! 🤘🔥🤘
I saw him perform with Night Verses a month ago and was lucky to meet up with him (again).
Such a great spirit, such a humble guy. I've known him from both Night Verses and Fever333, and he''s currently workin on a tattoo design for my girl (based on the trippy drum heads) :) Just an awesome, awesome drummer (and band).
I was just about to type
"Buddy Rich used to do stuff like the stick on Stick stuff outside of the hi-hat..."
Then you said it! 🤣
Aquilis Priester. I'll keep doing this ^^
Aric is one hell of a creative drummer, following him for years now.
I'm not even a drummer but I absolutely love your input on the techniques and stuff of the drummers you watch :P I'm totally okay if you do that more
There's a decent live video of danny carey playing pneuma which vic firth uploaded a couple of days ago
Nice, Aric Improta is the man!
You need to watch you some Marco Minnemann
ua-cam.com/video/R00MCrCf-dg/v-deo.html Paul Gilbert and Marco Minneman - The Jackhammer
Should definitely check this out if you watch any Marco. Perhaps not the right genre for a video on this channel, (I see it's mostly technical death metal) but just a bit of fun to watch. There's spacesuits, fog machines, and a fun tune full of guitar wankery and crazy drumming.
@@TheBeeFactory everything from that DVD fucking rules
bro, ive been telling him this for like 40 videos...i feel like hes not doing him because i annoy him so much!
@@buckfuttler2877 Might be hard to find metal song performances. Perhaps the Culture Clash tour drum solo. Tiny bit of distorted guitar at the start of that video haha
@@Manbagdeluxe Garrett has done lots of non metal drummers on here. But i agree, culture clash tokyo solo is the one!
That was pretty fire
Man that was fucking sick
My friend I know that is difficult to you to be able to make all the videos and watch all the drummers but mike portnoy does deserve a video for all his history on dream theater and even sons of Apollo or liquid tension experiment . Cheers dude and keep the good work
Love that star trek poster
his Attention Deficit Drumming videos are insane too! a lot of random stuff he is creating and working on. really inspiring and really really good in my opinion! :)
Damn, that was tight.
"WOAH WAIT A MINUTE HAVENT SEEN THAT!!"
welcome to Aric lmao
I have to say one of the best things about this channel is hearing bands I don't know who are fucking wild. haha
I love this series. It's like with every new video, he hones in closer and closer tip his preferred styles of metal music.
The whole series started with something like "I hate this stuff, but I respect the talent," and has evolved into "FUCK YEAH BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA THAT CHINA!" and things of the like
Good video, as always sir! I'm suprised that noone recommended Nic Pettersen (northlane drummer) yet, he went from a very energetic playstyle (Genesis/Scarab or Rot) to a very relaxed smooth playstyle (Leech or Hologram), and he is very fun to watch. The other one i would recommend to check out is Tobias Schuler from Der Weg Einer Freiheit, in Zeichen OR Ewigkeit (Drumcam live at Summer Breeze 2017), he has incredible stamina, and he does blastbeats like it's the easiest thing in the world. I would like to see your take on those two.
He draws those drum heads himself. Widely talented dude.
I have his drum heads... they are Remo emperor clears and the art design is in between the layers of the heads. The toms are all clear emperors (10in, 12in, 13in, and 16in) the snare is a Remo coated reverse controlled dot. They all sound amazing and I’m an evans ec2 player... only thing that sucks is they don’t make them in 18in. But hey not everyone is rocking an 18in floor Tom. Didn’t you know he has the China in quarantine!?
Wow this guy is fucking nuts! Inspiring and nuts!
I never would have noticed him looking at the next notes he was playing. Very cool observations.
Probably top 10 modern drummer right now. fuck name another that tops him.
This band, Night Verses, is awesome!
All of Night Verses kicks ass. All of it. From The Gallery of Sleep is one of the best instrumental rock/metal albums of all time.
Dude, you gotta see Blur Lights in the Videodrome by Aric Improta. It's a 40 minute drum solo, and it's amazing! Even if you don't do a video on it, it's still worth checking out.
Aric is such a good drummer. I love seeing reaction to drummers that have top notch writing abilities. The blast beat drummers are cool but these drummers are way cooler.
Enjoyed your review. Did you ever do a review of the drum solo by Aric Improta? Keep up the great work with the videos.
YEEEEEEEEEEEES YOU DID IIIIIIIIT!!! PRAISE THE LORD
nathan camarena from Chon please
His 40 minute long drum solo is insane I recommend watching it
React to aric improta's drum solo from guitar center
I think you should see japanese noisegrind band sete star sept. That drummer insane . His improvisation skills will leave your jaw open.
