    Jamaal Williams wasn’t a bust… the saints management is the bust because the FA signing wasn’t well thought out. His 17 tds weren’t going to translate over with our rushing scheme, lack of oline talent, and poor coaching. The lions big brained everyone because they purged their RB room and it got better and the teams that got those RBs got worse. Swift had a decent season but the eagles running game was worse.

    This had to be Mickey’s vision when Payton left and DA had to be the only head coach interviewed on board with this plan….any self aware head coach being interviewed probably pitched to Mickey to rebuild with the aging roster and lack of QB talent at the time…once we fail for the third year in a row without Payton I really hope Mickey steps down and admits defeat because this vision was trash from the get go…trying to salvage a roster that was against two years ago now trying to triple down for the third straight year with draft bust after draft bust

    When you know your job is secured as GM you have no urgency to start over nor make better decisions 🤷 rather you agree or not if MRS.BENSON don't care this will continue to go on because she's the only one who can fire them DA and micky

    Today, Lamar showed exactly who he was. If he is staring arcross from Patrick, or Joe Burrow, or maybe Josh Allen, that dude truly didn’t show up...at all. That was over in the first quarter.

    • @ZSmiles8080
      @ZSmiles8080 8 місяців тому

      That’s some revisionist history. Lamar showed in big games all season long and only lost to what is the best team in football. That game, btw, was very close throughout. Lamar definitely should have run the ball more and that pick into triple coverage is unforgivable, but let’s stop with the Lamar slander just because he didn’t get it done against the best team in football, something that only three teams in the playoffs have done btw (two of which were led by Tom Brady). Also, don’t talk to me about Josh Allen until I see him show up against the Chiefs.

    What can we learn? We learned that the Lions GM is good at drafting and that Mickey is addicted to drafting bust linemen. Marcus Davenport, Payton Turner, Trevor Penning, Foskey. All busts. Even Cesar Ruiz is a poor guard but he’s out there starting out of necessity. The best lineman by far Mickey has drafted in the last 6-7 years they let walk in free agency (Trey had 18.5 sacks in the 2023 season btw).
    Just wait until Mickey trades Lattimore to the Lions. Contender team whose cornerbacks are far and away the biggest weakness on the team. Dan Campbell is already very familiar with Shon, and the Saints->Lions pipeline is there. Hopefully Brad Holmes doesn’t fleece Mickey too bad.

      The fact that Mickey can only trade up in drafts speaks volumes as to his intelligence on draft day. The saints are too busy trying to look smart and get projects at the positions of need instead of just taking the best players early.

    Problem is majority of roster is old so I'd rather tear it down & start over. They do have a few younger guys but if you draft well straighten out the Cap, this team could be back in business in 2 yrs however that's asking alot based on the direction of team right now.

    New players are Carl Granderson stepped up, Bresee, Honey Badger (played decent never really was in a situation to show what he has left or be exposed as a liability), Isaac Yiadom and Paulson has developed pretty good, mostly defensive players. Offense was a scratch this year for obvious reasons.

    Just want this team to get youth across the board. Also if they could hit on these earlier draft picks more often unlike Penning, Turner, Davenport, Peat and Ruiz. Dline and Oline have to be top priorities in draft and free agency. Use Jordan as strictly a rusher on passing downs and get a younger guy to take over full time cause Jordans not a three down rusher anymore.

    The lions rebuild came from the trenches, they have a way better o line and d line, carr and goff are similar but carr is more physically talented, there are throws that goff missed against the 49ers that carr wouldve made and there are throws that carr makes look easy that goff just cant make, the difference is that one was playing for a top 3 o line and the other was playing for a bottom 5 o line

    • @arvinkundu2103

      Carr held on to the ball too long. I am not someone who watches much film but from what I hear from fans who watch film is that Carr holds the ball too long so our o line becomes worse than it really is

    • @eduardopoceros7737
      @eduardopoceros7737 8 місяців тому +2

      @@arvinkundu2103 I do watch film so nah, there were some throws that he was hesitant to make when he wasnt healthy because he didnt trust his receivers, once he settled into the system and got healthy he was throwing receivers open and ended leading the league in tds for the last 6 games.
      The o line was simply bad for most of the year, every 3rd and long (obvious pass situation) carr was rushed or sacked, goff wouldnt have even ended the season with this o line

  • @jessegardner134
    @jessegardner134 8 місяців тому

    Carr is absolutely capable of carrying an offense. All you need to do is look at the last 6 weeks of this season. He lead the NFL in TD passes. He's the entire reason saints ended up with a top 10 scoring offense. The run game was well below average in scoring TDS. That was all Carr.
    Ppl see Carr as average bc Raiders didn't win with him. That's the only reason. Raiders didn't win with him bc they had the '14-'16 saints defense, but it lasted from '14-'22.....aka Carrs entire career. Raiders never had better then the 20th overall defense with Carr. That's terrible. It made backup QBs look like Brady, every time. Gave up the most 3rd and long conversations. Gave up the most 80+ yard drives. No QB has ever been able to keep up with a defense that bad. None. If Mahomes was in Carrs place with Raiders, they gave largely the same record, and Mahomes would be seen the same way Carr is now.
    Carr isn't mid teir. He plays at a top 5 level when given what all top 5 QBs have. The teams he played for just couldn't sustain it. That's not the same thing as Carr being average. I really hope the saints get this OC hire right and Carr finally gets the stability he's needed for a decade now.

  • @neugey
    @neugey 8 місяців тому

    Nailing this OC pick is going to be the most important thing this offseason, probably more important than our 1st rounder. I know the Lions lost yesterday, but Ben Johnson's playcalling was outstanding, scheming guys open on 3rd and long consistently! Would've won if not for those untimely Reynolds drops. The way they shift formations and use motion to setup the look they want while disguising it until the ball is snapped is fantastic. I want someone that can innovate and bring their own ideas to the table. If we interview one of these Shannahan or McVay clones and all they want to do is just parrot the system they know, not tinker and find new ways to succeed, ain't interested.
