I had a twin otter but had to get rid of it, every time i spun up the props i would get this uncontrollable urge to stick my tongue in the props 😒 should definitely come with a warning about this.

Said it before: get a small camera like the Go 2 and get smooth on-board footage with planes (would have loved to see this mad tumble from the plane's perspective), but also with cars, boats and even copters; just a thought.

I really enjoy mine. I put packing tape all along the bottom of the floats to be able to take off of the Geo-Tex at my R/C field. Love that plane.

I love this plane and I’ve wanted glassy smooth water like this all summer. But it’s either too windy or too buggy!
We usually have wind on the water when we fly, but woke up super early to make this one happen. Glad we captured this rare moment on camera 👍😁😎⚓️
Full flaps, power, high pitch attitude, and when horizontal stab stalls, it makes the Otter a tumbler!! Lots of fun, but give yourself plenty of altitude.

@@TheRcSaylors the only way to recover from the tumbles is by reducing power. Once the elevator is stalled (Tail stall) the thrust somehow keeps it in the stalled state. My brother and I figured this all out through lots of test flights lol
This would be fun to try with all the water around me. Especially a shot from a waterproof camera that goes from underwater to in the air

Another fun float flyer!!! I put floats on mine new, day one. And lost the terrain landing gear! Seriously, never had wheels on it!!! A solid plane that is fun to fly. Turns out it's a little underpowered for pulling out of a dust devil, but keep the wing level and throw it back in the water for another flight!!!😜

One of these days, I'll have to try flying off of water (not that there's a lot of lakes here in Southern Arizona to fly from). Until then, I'll have to practice on the simulator. Nice flight, and a great airplane!

If you watch the slomo of the first splash, you can see that you lost your left side coverage of the float mount 🤣 nevertheless, I flipped over my Twin Otter short before airborne as I hit a small wave and catched a gust... the plane is also able to swim upside down with submerged motors 😅

You can turn those stall spins into some neat looking tricks if you play with the throttle. I did it all the time at my flying club before I got too cocky and crashed it :) just need a LOT of falling space. Also this plane does inverted flat spins really well!!!

Yeah, I wouldn't try that again - you were lucky it came down on the floats, one more and you might not be so lucky.. land upside down. Then you would have to yell at that fisherman, or try to power it to shore. Had to do that with my Cajun Commander it flipped (log I didn't see) and it was close to shore and it worked! Ran it out of water for a while to help 'dry out' everything. I'm a bit more aware of what's around in the water now.

I wonder if that tumble stall is something that is seen in the real Twin Otter. BTW, I was at the Ottawa-Gatineau Air Show a couple of weeks back, and they had an RCAF Search and Rescue (SAR) Twin Otter, and it had the black & white props on it! It was funny, when the Twin Otter went into the parking area, it had stopped in the middle of it to do their post flight checks, and the air show people got together a bunch of people to push it back into is display space...but just as they started to gether, the engine revved up, and they reversed the proper pitch, and backed itself into the spot! Cheeky pilots! LOL!.

Yeah, been trying to get one of these for about 6 months now. On backorder from HH. They keep moving the date back. Now it says Nov. It used to say Aug. Pretty sure these planes are discontinued👎

Hi guys, first of all I watch all your videos, and you are very informative about equipment, and plane's jets, cars, ect... but I have a question about radios... I am pretty new to the hobby, and I have several planes, some of which I won't fly for a while, ( I have the e flight 80mm blue angel jet, and the eflight airshow hero , along with the fms 1100mm typhoon, I also have a fms 1450mm red tail p51... I have two of them hanging in my home office, I also have a little sport cub... Anyway, I currently have a spectrum dx6e radio which I know I can use for these planes, but I want something that has the voice alerts that I hear in your videos.. I really like that feature... can you give me a little insite as to which spectrum radios have that feature... Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work, I really love your videos, they are inspiring me to get my butt out there and fly these planes...
Hands down, you’ve gotta check out the NX series of radios. If you have questions, please post them as a new comment. Much easier for me to find! 👍😎⚓️
On the contrary the NX line of radios are some of the worst spektrum radios ever made. I have quite a few friends sell them off becuase of the unreliability and low quality. If you want a good radio, and have the money, check out the futaba 16iz. If not, have a look and try and get a DX8 or dx6. They are great radios.
