I remember starting my dads 56 ford in February snow in Roswell, NM. You pull out the choke, pump the gas twice, and start. After about ten minutes slowly push in the choke.
This was 1959 I was thirteen, Bananaz was playing on the TV.

Man I love your channel, Dan. I’d love to see cold starts of the carbureted ones from inside showing us the full procedure with the gas pedal. You’re a master at cold starting and it’s so fun to watch.

Diesels just don't like the COLD . At least you didn't have to build a FIRE under it . Cool video .

You should make or buy a set of pallet forks for the bobcat, so much handier than trying to do everything with the bucket. Then you could store stuff on pallets, super useful.

Cold starting that Bobcat reminds me of my Diesel Rabbit! As long as I gave the glow plugs 2 minutes it was good for 20 below!

I was destined, back in the early 70s to have a passed down (2nd oldest brother, to sister, to me) 55 chev 2dr, but my sister crashed it.
The result, my dad gave me a 62 chev impala SS. ;-)

Just a thought, if your going to leave the bobcat outside you might want to invest in a heater for it. It will make a big difference, as long as you plug it up.

Great to see all three years of the Tri-Fives lined up in the driveway! You ought to add up all the time spent starting and moving cars each year and see how much time that takes away from working on them. That would be a good consideration for if it would be worthy of moving to a warmer area with more land. As much as I enjoy starting all of mine and moving them around, it is a big consideration for me in moving to my land in Montana. I like the plans you have for all of your cars! Keep up the great work and I will keep watching! Take care and stay warm!

I've been wanting to tri-five forever but some reason here in Mississippi I can't even afford the four doors now to do a conversion for some odd reason 😆 they want $10,000 for a roller, 5 years ago a friend of mine that has an antique junkyard was going to sell me 56 Chevrolets for $2,500 both of parts cars make one now he wants $10,000 for the two parts cars both of them are rollers one has no front Fender or Hood the other one has good fenders and Hood no rear truck section from the back glass to the bumper......
