Beverly (Turner) is the perfect happy homemaker. Along with her doting husband Eugene (Sam Waterston) and two children, Misty (Ricki Lake) and Chip (Matthew Lillard), she lives a life straight out of Good Housekeeping. But this nuclear family just might explode when Beverly's fascination with serial killers collides with her ever-so-proper code of ethics - transforming her from middle class mom to mass murderer! Soon, the bodies begin to pile up… and suburbia faces a horror even worse than wearing white after Labor Day.

This movie, as well as "Death Becomes Her", are some of the most criminally underrated movies of the 90s!
"Do you remember where we parked the car" XD lmao
So is “Dracula-Dead and Loving it”! It’s a silly funny but is one of our favorites
and we are always mimicking some of the lines. Such as “I SAW everything!” or “We must get to the village by sundown!” and “What on Earth are you doing to the furniture?”😝
@@crystallinds8077 That ending really unnerved me when I was a kid, now I love the morbid humor of it all.
@@Dfender67 Ah, a fellow fan of Dracula: Dead and Loving It I see here. I’m happy that Shout Factory released it on Blu-ray recently. 😊
@@tonymata8070 oh yes! My husband and I love that movie! Oh and “Give that man an enema! And another and another until he comes to his senses!”😜
I went to a convention once and met Kathleen Turner. She told me she had a great time doing this movie. I also had her sign a poster of “Serial Mom” for me. Nothing better than having one of your favourite movies of ALL TIME personally signed by the star herself, framed and hanging on your wall. ❤️
jakemusictvs serial mom is my favorite movie too
I have a dvd of this movie that’s signed by John Waters😂😂
Wow That’s awesome
Such a wonderful story! I believe Kathleen is the sweetest person 🖤
@@alexfrzn4 Absolutely, I have always liked her.
Anyone ever notice how almost every comedy movie in the early 90s had the song "Bad to the Bone"?
Probably because it was used in Terminator 2.
I first heard it in Problem Child which came out in 1990.
The Parent Trap= poker scene!
So glad they only played it in the preview and not in the movie.
Man they must be rolling in money to this day!!
This movie was under rated, wrongly marketed, and is one of the best movies that only gets better over time. If we only knew back in the 90s!
Definitely, I rewatched this for the first time in a while and I laughed harder than the first time
Hilarious movie. Great cast. Fabulous Kathleen Turner. One of the very best of black comedies.
One of the few movies I can watch over and over!
I absolutely agree. I watched it again for the umpteenth time last night and just about passed myself laughing.
I was 10 years old and in the 90s I knew it was gold!
I want a serial grandma sequel to come out
I want the sequel for her to be in prison manipulating the whole system. Lol
Best idea for a movie ever!
OMG
Look up Keeping Mum! 🤣 you’ll be surprised who is Mum
Serial MeMaw
20 something years ago, I thought this was a horror movie the whole time.
The most horrific moment in this movie is when a dog licks a woman's barefeet on command.
Me too
It is! 20 years later and white people are still killing people and getting away with it🤣😭
same!!!
I use to be terrified of this movie years ago... just to realise it's a comedy movie
When I was 9, my mom cursed at a kid who was bullying me.
I'm now 29 and I just saw this film. I immediately thanked my mom for not killing that bully XD
This is the most underrated film ever!
One of my favorite movies of all time
Note-John waters is the greatest filmmaker
I love this film. Many childhood memories coming back from being a kid back then.
Kathleen Turner was both sweet and psychotic in this. And Sam Waterston was sweet and innocnt, defending his wife xx Loved this movie xx
My late father loved this when he watched it after work RIP dad xxxxx 👤🗣️👥🚴
"Beverley I've read all about this, is it menopause!?!?"... Lolololol..
Yeah, cheers, we all just heard that too.
Sam Waterston was so sweet and naive in this. Who would have thought he would play the hardest prosecutor in TV history the following year. xx
Damn son I’m miss the 90’s I swear y’all can’t beat our generation
Who wee 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My personal favorite John Waters movie! Had the BIGGEST crush on Ricki Lake...Hell, she can still get it now!
I remember being scared when I watched this as a kid
And now it’s funny
WHY ARE YOU WATCHING IT
I remember my dear old mum belly laughing so hard at this film she still tell me she's "got it on cd" ❤❤
Serial mom, she's armed and fucking nuts. One of the best lines in the movie.
A family movie about a serial killer. Lol! I love this movie when I was a kid.
The family screaming in the car next to theirs had me and my friends laughing for over a minute. We just couldn’t stop.
I remember watching parts of this as a 7 year old and thinking it was supposed to be a serious horror film lol. Now I want to rewatch it as an adult after it randomly popped up in my mind
This an insanely crazy dark comedy. It has been my favorite comedy since I was a teenager.
what if u found a new favorite comedy? for growth? u can't stay static. xx
I didn't do any research prior to watching this so I really didn't know what to expect. I watched it for the first time last night and it was so good and so funny. How I never watched this before is beyond me. Would HIGHLY recommend.
I actually think that Kathleen Turner was the best choice over Susan Sarandon because of *Who Framed Roger Rabbit?*
Fun fact: Matthew Lillard’s first film role is not Serial Mom but in fact Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College.
A lot of people never heard of that one.
Probably because it wasn't a widely available movie. Looking into it "Ghoulies" was a franchise set up by Charles Band and he ended up being forced out of his company. Then his films were released from another one and they probably thought that "Ghoulies" was a lost cause so they sold the rights to any future installments.
@@Father_of_Death Lionsgate are the current rights holders, and I recently found out that the OG creators want to make a reboot of Ghoulies.
one of the funniest movies i have ever watched
Kathleen Turner is such a great actress. Definitely doesn't get the credit she deserves.
0:57 Traci Lords alert.
Is that a young Matthew Lillard?!
Yep. Two years before Scream.
OMG look how young Matthew Lillard was (he was the son named Chip)😂😂☺️
His first movie.
@@MrParkerman6 Actually it was Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College but he’s credited as Matthew Lyn (his middle name), so yeah that film and Serial Mom are his first films. 🙂
One of my favorite movies
She is one of my favorite actresses great movie
I saw this in the theater, the weekend it opened --- hilarious
really ? how was the experience? i’m always curious to know how it feels when ppl went to go see movies in the 90s because i wasn’t born yet lol 😭 like was it any different from when you go to the theaters today ?
@@ABC-sz7rd it's the same.
the same only the movies are shite nowadays
@@neilg2640 yeah. i was 14, so i loved it
The perfect prequel to 'Scream' LOL
Love this movie so much!
One of my fav movies.
That music in the beginning is the same score from beetlejuice
damiandadmn was just gonna say that.
I think it may also be in Edward Scissorhands.
It isn't in Edward Scissorhands, dumbass. Danny Elfman doesn't repeat himself.
@@MrParkerman6 Your..the DUMBASS!!!
That music in the beginning from Serial Mom is used in Beetlejuice is the same score from 1983 Christine
This film reminds me a bit of that darkly comic Blumhouse thriller MA with Octavia Spencer. Hilarious but violent/disturbing at the same time.
Molly Ringwald as Mary Andrews
KJ Apa as Archie Andrews
Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
on Riverdale
I really love "Serial Mom" (1994) - Official Trailer I have this on DVD. It's pretty cheesy, campy, corny, quirky, silly & still a great 90's Black Comedy Movie with a young Kathleen Turner, Sam Waterson, Ricki Lake, Justin Whalin & Matthew Lillard. R.I.P. (Suzanne Somers) It's a great 1990's classic in my library. It's got some twists & turns. Great cast....SSSSS.
Ever notice how movie trailers sometimes appropriates music from other movies? Cause the song that plays at the beginning is from Beetlejuice
Holy crap. I never knew that was Rikki Lake.
I love this movie!!!!!
nobody noticed the infamous Patty Hearst. Killer Queen.
R.I.P liliane from Toulon Fr Born 12-21-1039 departed 9-11-2021
good movie
The best!
Forgive my pun, but she totally KILLED the part : D
One of the best films ever 👌🏻🩸🔥
Classic! 💯 Loving reminiscing on the Legends and Good times. ❤️ Gotta have a sense of humor through the glimmers. #heartchakraopen
This movie is hilarious to this day
I’m surprised in that she was found not guilty
As crazy as it is, this movie is hilarious.
Great movie!
This was such a good movie.
This movie is iconic. 😂
People born before the 90s: "ha, Ricki Lake got top billing over Matthew Lillard"
People born after the 90s: ( no idea who these people are )
Surprised John Waters didn't consider Bette Wilder or Kathy Najimy as Beverly!
Dear Jw, one time i said if he came to see my family what would a movie he make . he made it. My sister and the hummel figures to. did not meet john until later than this maybe not sure when he was part of artist in a gallery i worked for. a few years later... i cant remember but it was around that time.
فيلم كوميدي وجريمة جميلٌ ورائع وسعيد جداً ومميز جداً وأبداع وذوق راقي جداً
1:07 My humor is broken why did I start laughing at this 💀
As a kid, I loved this movie as an adult I don’t know if it’s good or not
Love the tone of this movie. Oh, the unfathomed joys of b cinema.
misses puff is in here lmafooooooo
came here because of Trixie's reference to Kathleen Turner's bird imitation 😂
I remember watching this as a kid and I didn't understand why she kept spreading her back and forth while on trial. Now I know 🙄😂😂
The face when you realize you cannot resist the beauty in the eye :D 1:28
Walks in bathroom holding a Shiskebab sees dislikers...
*Makes fist and scream a Howie Long Scream*
Steven don't act all innocent 🌹
There are times that actually did find her more scarier than Freddy Krueger and by now would have Serial Karen.
The O.G. Karen
The L7 cameo as "Camel Lips" fuckin classic.
This movie is satire done right I never laughed so hard at a movie before
That background music is from Beetlejuice, another classic
Remake please
What a strange approach for the trailer- why did they make it look more like a mystery than a comedy?
Very funny ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😁😁😁
Anyone know of any other slasher's that are more comedy where the killer is having FUN like this movie? The only other movie I can really think of is Sleepaway Camp 2
mathew didnt get an introduction in the trailer???? wtf
*Fuckin' Don Knotts, he's the coolest!*
Zapatos blancos en otoño noooooo 😂
I'd love if this turns out to be Jack McCoy's wife.
This feels like an SNL sketch
Suzanne Sommers RIP
Kathleen Turner oh my god!
Vicky Gilbert
Durrell Kitchen
Ronda Donley
Hell yeah sign me up
Beverly i read all about this, is it menopause ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quite frankly, I only checked around this movie because I thought bad to the bone was on the soundtrack listing. It’s a very popular song, but I guess I was wrong. It’s only in the trailer at stinks like a skunks, butt
John Waters Best Film.
John Waters, Kathleen Turner, and L7- dynamite good time movie 🍿❤️🤟🏻
1:07 1:08 1:09 1:10
You meant Beverly (Kathleen Turner)!
americas #1 mom.
i thought she was Chandlers worst Dad
There’s even a kill count on this one
Love that the trailer blatantly used Beetlejuice's score.
i have a sisteer who is trying hard to kill me to shut me up and make sure i dont have a mouth to speak. i esdape 11 years of hard core abuse and a invisible person terrorize me . however my friends did come to thanksgiving and fear for me. and i escape my family and livd 24 years of happy life and then things were go happen as i was also rising. like my boss and his wife died and two friends who are also famous , and people who all of htem were pro me not abusers. i cut off my family and moved and travle and the sister who i never saw but to be insuloted and abuse snot nose and cold. came to my door only when i began to make friends not hwen the abuse went on l=only when i was with lucky or good people. and then to my job and my boss and his wife died.. and then as i was outwit winged monkeys and all evil. sent to try to make me mentally ill to make sure i had no talnet or voice personality or other. i was hit by a shark attack by a man who hand picked as having some name in buss and also some manipuilative qualitiies like my father and a whore fucking guy who is lead by evil but .... and i was put into his hands in a altered state induce a stroke on me and then beaten to death and induce a fatal case of every mental illness and drive to homeles with my sister stalking me to make sure i can speak or idenitfy who is up and control and this pesron making sure no one hears me and to induce the worst case of mental hostage and abuse on me 24 years after i removed her them and got to live. they did not make sure i did not become mentally ill from what was done to me care to much of what went on but 24 years after i put some damaging sick people who are not able to see themself as toxic or change and want you to be the sick one. did a bang up job to take my life to hell and i am a horror story of abuse. This is how it is. she is the perfect cup of tea in a perfecit tea pot and a little bit of witch and aliar and no place i go move wihtout this tentacle stuck to me making sure i cant speak and laughing like that too.. but worse..
The music at the beginning is from Beetlejuice.
