Beverly (Turner) is the perfect happy homemaker. Along with her doting husband Eugene (Sam Waterston) and two children, Misty (Ricki Lake) and Chip (Matthew Lillard), she lives a life straight out of Good Housekeeping. But this nuclear family just might explode when Beverly's fascination with serial killers collides with her ever-so-proper code of ethics - transforming her from middle class mom to mass murderer! Soon, the bodies begin to pile up… and suburbia faces a horror even worse than wearing white after Labor Day.

Honestly don't know what's funnier: beating someone to death with a leg of lamb or doing so perfectly in beat with " tomorrow" from the musical Annie...
Be glad she wasn't singing staying alive from the movie Saturday Night Fever🤣🤣
I love how Beverly feeds the dog and gives it a little kiss before she kills its owner.
Hardtechnoboy And then the dog starts gnawing on the leg of lamb.
Least she cares for animals
Even maniacs like her have decency to feed animals and care for them
Nah the owner was abusive she had the dog lick her feet the dog deserved freedom
The way she chased him was pure determination! Then she looked both ways before chasing him across the street! LOL
"WEAR YOUR SEATBELT IT'S THE LAW" LMFAO!!!!
tipofmytongue1024 as she stabs at him, which made it even funnier.
LOL!! 😀😀 😆 .......
lol😏 ........ and that guy that she stole the van from said yes ma'am! ........ when he saw that knife🔪 ............. He didn't want any trouble. lol😃😄😏😏 .............
🤣😆😂
2:33 - such a great little touch - Beverly safely looking both ways before she crosses the street
😂😂 Everybody always focuses on the murder. That lady was singing her heart out! Changing keys and everything 😂😂😂
The Kathleen Turner acting in this is one of the best female performances in movie history.
Best performances not best female performance
The dog ate the evidence.
Well ..... They still knew that she killed her with that leg of lamb though. ....... That one man in court went over all of the different ways that she had killed people. ....... He said 1. a speeding car 2. a fire poker 3. a pair of scissors 4. a top hold air conditioner 5. the leathal flames from an errasal can ...... and yes .... 6. even a leg of lamb. ............ lol 😛😜😜😝😝😁😁😁😁 .... 😊😊😊😊 .............
Can't decide which one's better, this one or the one in road Dahl's original story 'Lamb to the Slaughter'.....the means of destroying the evidence that is
2:20 that’s great form. She hugs the turn to say close, nice arm swing, very efficient looks relaxed, Beverly must be runner.
I'm really glad Beverly does not harm the dog.
Dogs don't rent movies on VHS tape and return them without rewinding.
True, one of many wonderful canine personality traits!
She loves pets and would never harm them, only their masters
lol! 🤣😂
For YEARS, every time we rented "Annie" to someone, we'd follow them home and bludgeon them to death. Good times!
VHS or DVD?
REWIND!! The blood splattering on the TV as Mrs Jensen gets whacked with the lamb always gets me😂
I swear the line is "Rewind, bitch!!!"
@@ThePorpoisepower No, it's just "REWIND".
at least she let the dog live
Well the movie explains that she loves animals, so it’d be out of character if she did.
Funny after this Matthew Lillard did Scream lol
It's funny his charctor works at video store and Jamie Kennedys charctor works at a video store in scream
After he did scream he then did scooby doo as shaggy.
@@ashleysmith8402 After Scream he did Senseless, SLC Punk, The Curve, She’s All That, Thirteen Ghosts, THEN Scooby Doo
After Serial Mom he did Hackers
You got to admit the death scenes were creative and not your usual stabbing and slice. Lol
This movie is a classic😩🥰
This movie is so bonkers I love it.
Leg of lamb. Andy’s favorite dish.
Hahaha!
Kathleen Turner running like the terminator at 2:22 hahahaha
Hah -- yes, the glare, the run, the stabbing weapon through the ceiling... She can't be bargained with. She can't be reasoned with.
Is it wrong to love this scene 😂
Especially if the speed is 2x
REWIND !!!!
1:24 😠
You're only a DAY HUH A HUH WAY...... REWIND. EPIC😂😂😂
The gore on the tv!
0:52 Roald Dahl style - I like that extra tribute.
Beverly sure had a passion for killing people but at least she was kind to animals except that fly in the beginning of the movie. Was cute seeing her play with the dog.
It’s pets she cares for
It's funny you mention the fly because believe it or not the ASPCA got on John W about that part, and you'll never guess what they
made him do....
You have to feel bad for Beverly how psychotic she is🤣🤣🤣
🙏💝 ~ This movie is a blessing to the world. Deserving of Oscars and all the praise imaginable. I don’t remember how I ran across this movie about 15 years ago, but I’m glad I did. 💕b
I mean death is the appropriate response for people who don't rewind tapes.
And she made her dog lick her nasty feet.
@@romerjusu3804 That, in my opinion, was much sicker.
It takes some damn SKILL to sprint in heels. 🔪🏃♀️
1:24 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 REWIND! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
old favorite movie as a kid
At least she got creative with her kills lol
lol 😊 ........
Nowadays the old woman would still alive nobody hat VHS anymore
but she also did call Chip a Son-of-a-psycho.
@@farrellmcnulty909 that lady deserved it
It be dvds
Poor Scotty if he just wears his seat belt he still be alive too bad he's was fired Literally 😂🤣
Kathleen was one of my boyhood crushes for 36 years since age four with romancing the stone and roger rabbit in theaters.
I saw this at age 12 on video and thought it was a funny horror comedy with creative kills even the leg of lamb
This film is absolutely something else! My goodness!
Well you are supposed to rewind the videos after you watch them - whether you own them or need to return them to the store.
Love serial mom so much 😂
This movie is so bad yet so hilarious! 😂😂😂😂
1:34 Like the T-1000 spotting John Connor.
1:24 youtube every december
Once again, John Waters knows how to stick his finger down our throats until something comes up.
I wonder if John Waters got inspiration from the old story Lamb to the Slaughter. Woman killed her husband with a frozen leg of lamb, then covers up her crime by having the investigating police eat it.
I think he did. Could be wrong.
LOL!! I love this movie.
She didn't rewind her VHS tapes...
That’s the price for not rewinding video tapes
Beverly really stood by her values -- rewind (VHS before returning it) and wear your seatbelt (don't break the law).
You mess with Beverly's family you have a date with death!!
is this from the dvd master or a new one made for the blu ray? i have the 2 previous dvd versions.
You're only a day away. Take that Mandela Effect
"Rewind". My favorite scene in this movie. That woman really deserved to die. After this, she says "Wear your seat belt. It's the law!" Beverly only wanted to teach people how to respect the rules.
Respect the rules? How that's when she killing people 😂😂😂😂
Or harrassing them by phone?
I love how the woman is bludgeoned with a leg of lamb because she refused to rewind her tapes.
Glad I finally watched the movie today after rewatching the kill count. But I don’t get why they want you to rewind the tape.
Meat is murder
One of the best scenes ever in a movie. But that look at 1:34, Mrs. Turner is quite the looker!
I love kathleen Turner 💋💋❤️❤️❤️❤️
REWIND ⏪️
REWIND!
2:37 the window is down ans she reaches the car- i don't see him have time to roll his window up- yet somehow she can't stab him through the window she can only stab the canvas 😂
Watch his shoulder then hand. He rolls it up then hits the lock. Most 1960s cars had manual windows. It's a '66 or '67 Pontiac.
What’s funny is that Beverly didn’t even see an open window of Scotty’s car in order to kill him. Look closely at 2:36
Look closely. Watch his shoulder. He rolls it up REAL FAST before hitting the lock button. Manual windows on most cars back then (That Pontiac is like a '66).
‘67 Pontiac LeMans Convertible to be exact
Gotta love the lamb to the slaughter vibes
REWIND!!!
She didn't rewind her videos and watches Child's Movies...So...Serves her right...lol
Family movies
Mrs Jensen sings very well.
this is the same master that universal used for the overseas blu ray, the only good thing is the bonus
2:42
1:31
That's a beautiful '67 Pontiac Tempest he's got there. Too bad Kathleen Turner had to ruin the soft top with stab marks.
Actually it’s a LeMans. It’s got the LeMans gills on the rear quarter panels.
@@JacobSeed_2018 See, little stuff like that I didn't even notice. Literally the GTO, Tempest, and LeMans are the exact same car aesthetically. It's very easy to get all three of these confused.
True, when I was little and didn’t know much about cars I thought it was a GTO. Didn’t know it was a LeMans until paying closer attention to it during the movie.
Great car regardless though, super reliable too. Sucks they are so expensive now.
I love how in the most random of comments sections you can find people who notice tiny details like this
Killing is bad
My mom taught her how to be überpsycho.
0:17, 1:01 and 2:18
1:10 1:22 1:33 Kathleen Turner is so cute awwww
J I love she just like kills her while she's signing. Annie them song 🎵 I love this movie 🎥 serial mom we need a reboot I what would she look like 👍 in 20 22 Joe Michael givargidze age 43 1979.
😂
1:05
1:34 you're next
Kathleen Turner is a fantastic actress.
What kind of serial killer would go from a butcher knife to a leg of lamb?
Beverly Sutphin apparently!
Unlike some others have said, this part
wasn't the best or funniest, but it was
pretty clever, and she captured the
beat of the song perfectly too!
Even though this movie for the most
part imo is darkly and wickedly funny
as I've already said, two murders
went a little overboard and other than
being a witness, I don't feel that
Scotty deserved what she did to him
and I'm sorry folks, but Jury #8
wearing white shoes after Labor day
was a ridiculous motive for murder.
They only worked with the dark humor
because Scotty was killed in that
twisted concert and the Verdict had
being aquited moments before.
Hope I didn't spoil anything but I'm
sorry I did folks.
In one of John Waters interview for
this film, he commented on it cashing
on society making celebrities out of
killers, which I won't argue with.
Sometimes w/ out meaning to, we
do that. I see it all the time now
and satire or not, this movie was
kinda ahead of its time, but I'm
referring to real life serial killers not
the fictional ones.
She is basically the ultimate "Karen".
