I have nothing but good things to say about WE Honest on Ebay. I lit up more than half my layout with their LED building light fixtures. Like you said, some are a tad big bigger than I wanted but for the price and the ease of installation you cannot go wrong!
Very true, WE Honest does make some great lights at affordable prices. I was surprised how fast the shipping was this time around as the crossing signals came in two weeks unlike the two months the last time I ordered.
That gap causing derailments … try cleaning the paint off it then fill with some solder - then use a file, even a grinder bit on a Dremel to shape it to the rail. I had to do that a couple of times and it worked great for me. Save you the effort of track removal and such.
Thank you for the advice! I actually went back yesterday after seeing your comment inspected the solder on that joint. I actually found that when I soldered it and partially filled it in I had a small spot of solder that stuck inside the rail and that was what was causing the derailments!
Don't worry too much as tall grass and cat tails will be going back in that spot. The main reason I want to re do it is there is roughly 3 layers of scenery in the spot all stacked up as I didn't really know what I was doing back when I did that scene. It looks decent in videos but looks terrible to me in person and it only makes sense to fix it while I will already have the track pulled up.
Always a treat to get an update from u Steve. Your progress on current projects seems to rolling right along. As far as the asphalt on ur road, it does look a little rough. The signal light looks great, especially when u showed off the lights in it. To bad about that short piece of track that is not playing nice. Well from what I know about u from your videos, it won't be a problem long. Again Steve, as always , will be looking for the next update. Ted

Thank you! The magnets for the air hoses I originally bought off eBay a few years ago. I have some new ones ordered now from Amazon now to try out. The main thing is to get the smallest size available ( 1MM x 1MM). If the new ones from Amazon are good when they arrive ill come back and post a link to them here but I want to see them first before I recommend them.
For the locomotive roofs I generally start with a coat of Vallejo Model Air Rust Acrylic Paint and hand paint it on the tops of the roofs. I then use Bragden Enterprises Dark Rust weathering powder brushed on rather heavy over top of the paint. Then clear coat over the top of that.

I kinda like the grass area you are going to tear out, lots of areas around me in the CR days that had high grass and cat tails between tracks.

How did you do the
Rust on the locomotive of roofs ?

Use pastel chalks on softening the ass-fault roads .....
