Excellent explanations. I just upgraded to RX6 Standard (from Elements). This thing is like magic. RX is going to take my location audio to a new level. The online documentation is a bit sketchy, but all the izotope videos are fantastic.
Oh MAN this was super helpful! I’m still trying to figure out where background traffic noise is sitting in my recordings (got LOTS going on with c/u horse hooves hitting dirt and weeds etc) but this vid can maybe help me learn to isolate certain sounds. If anyone has tips please do let me know!
Thank you for this great tutorial! It will definitely come in handy when I have to delve deep into a sound file to remove the annoying nose and mouth clicks.
At 8:30 he highlights the portion to remove, which includes the visible vertical lines (which I think is a clicking sound), but then after he deletes the gap, the vertical line is still there. Can anyone explain why?
this is always just in rx advance? i had bought rx standard just to find out that the settings you showcase are just available in rx advanced, do i had to throw in another 500 $. 😢
So this functions as a stand alone program? I'm not a pro, just an audiophile who owns a few records and tapes that were never released on CD, and I have some old band recordings that have a lot of audio problems. This seems almost miraculous, and for $400 anyone could buy this, if you count music as important in your life.
The spectrogram is only available in the standalone application of RX Elements, not as an insert in a DAW. However, several DAWs allow a user to communicate with the standalone editor. Learn more here: support.izotope.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032981013-RX-Connect-FAQ
It's called 'RX connect', to destructive edit, click 'connect', highlight the text, then hit 'send' and it pops up in the stand alone. When you're done, you send it back and embeds all the changes.
For an audio mixing software company, the level ratio of music to dialogue has a lot to be desired in these videos. I have to turn the speakers down on music and back up to hear speaking. Very bad mixing.
This is incredibly powerful. The most user friendly spectral editing tool I've seen by far
Great tutorial, especially the part where you used spectral repair almost like a photoshop eraser tool! Thank you

It is stand alone as well as DAW integrated.
How to just freaking delete the entire spectral wave i have selected instead of removing it a little bit?
I bought rx 8 elements. It says it comes with the spectrogram and stuff. How can i open the spectrogram in my DAW?
