I was just near Hessel yesterday. It was 40 degrees. What a nice treat to see 2 deer eating grass along side the road. Just love the UP. God bless y’all.
I used to fish Huron Bay in the fall when I was a kid. Lots of outdoor fun to be had up there! You may like this video too. ua-cam.com/video/646y-_mhoVI/v-deo.html Stay in touch and let me know how your move to L'anse goes.
Hello Dave and Marie ! Love the winter vud eh. And really love that I see you have an Aussie as well. We have a two year old Aussie what a trip we love her. Cheers !
I love your UA-cam channel. I make my quick strike rigs like you now because I can tell you know what you're talking about. They work brilliantly. I have made up at least 20 or more of them with varying sized treble hooks and leaders. Thanks again!
I think I came up with those rigs because I catch so many smaller pike and they give me good hook ups with those smaller fish. If I was catching 40 inch fish all the time it might not be so important to get the hooks to the ends of the dead bait As a large pike will suck down a smelt or herring entirely and a small pike will sometimes just bite the ends. Small pike seem to rob the bait more if you don't get the hooks to the ends. Then they will keep bothering you unless you catch them. Although I have had many fisherman tell me they work great with bigger fish too. I only wish I was the one catching those big pike LOL! Thanks for that comment and thanks for all the support!
Not much so I would bet this past winter! I live in metro Detroit, our snow we get is wimpy compared to the up. Amazing how much a difference winter can be from one state
This year up in eastern Ontario the camp has seen roughly 140inches (362cm) so far this winter. Our record is 174inches or 444cm back in 1971. I think a snowmobile will be in order as i get older lol 😂
Looks like you guys got clobbered with snow up there. Still haven't had to break out a shovel down here in Coldwater. It snows one day & melts away the next. I'm not complaining either!
@@KnettersPracticalOutdoors it snowed here last night but the driveways & sidewalks it didn't stick to them just the grass. Got maybe 3 inches. At least I don't have to shovel it!!!
CODE BROWN ALERT!!!! you ought to see our yard with snow on it, too many stink pickles to count! 2 weimeraners are guilty scoundrels of this crime! keep up the family fun and videos Dave
I Absolutely love this channel. I love michiganders
Thanks a lot for that and thanks for the support.
Snow in the UP is never ugly or bad. It is beautiful, and keeps away the sweat, bugs, and riff-raff.
Very true

Thank God for the 4 big thaws this winter. We got LOTS of snow. Without the thaws we'd have snow up to the eves this winter.
Very true!
Your dogs love the snow as much as the kids.
You know it!

Eric, am I right in assuming that we share the same hometown from our high school days? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes, it can be like a different world at times.
Where ya all at up there in the yoop? We travel 12 hours to come riding...I didnt think there was this much snow right now! Thanks and great channel!
Marquette and Alger county still have plenty of snow to ride and we're getting another 12 - 18 inches this weekend. Thanks for watching!
100k on the way!
We're headed in the right direction, thanks to viewers like yourself!

@@KnettersPracticalOutdoors spring is just around the corner, enjoy the snow while it lasts 👍
After watching this video, miss the snow. I recently moved to Mexico, no snow here in Veracruz, just hot and humid.
Just remember the driving, shoveling, plowing, cold days and nights and maybe that will help Dave!

You have a point. I fo not miss the shoveling, plowing, driving in the stuff
owning a camp is a lot of work but fun.

I just keep thinking by the end of May it will all be gone? Hopefully!!
It should be gone, but May isn't always the end of the snow storms right Mike?
It snows just like it does in Pyongyang, North Korea!

We got the same thing, but it's confined to a fenced area. Except for what you saw in the video!
