Man, you take the long way to the jetties. You should stay on Hwy. 37 then exit to get on 358 and stay there until you get passed Flour Bluff, then take a left on Hwy 361 and stay there until you hit Port A. Anyway, another great video! I've learned a lot from your videos about jetty fishing.
Yeah I do take the longer way to the Jetties sometimes, I stop along the way to check out new spots for fishing and for throwing the cast net for bait. But you are right That is definitely a faster way to get there. Thanks for checking the videos out I’m still learning myself. Might head out there Monday if plans don’t change.
@@Fishin4Trophies Ahhh ok I got you. You're right about that. I see people tossing nets all the time, and I mean almost daily right after that hotel on the left right as you are about to get into Portland. I have never tried it myself. I went to the surf yesterday but it was so windy. Good luck
Awesome ! I also saved a turtle at the port A jetties. Havent lived in texas for many years. Miss fishing down there. Once saw a manta ray at tha tip . It was huge.
@@Fishin4Trophies very cool experience. I made a few casts near it. Sometimes cobia or other game fish hang underneath or around them. No luck though. Take care tight lines bud.
Gaftop, or Sail catfish ....very good table fare after filleting off the dark meat(blood line or sensory tissue),as some may call it - I think minimum size on Gaf top catfish is 14" .good eats.
I don’t have any recommendations on shoes, honestly just use my old Running shoes and hope I don’t slip. And i have slipped many times. I know there are some shoes out there with spikes for the Jettys but I don’t know what brand they are.
Hahaha that same rod your using my friend bought and once he used it caught a 3foot shark and instantly hooked up on another on his 10 footer and broke that rod cause numb nuts jammed it into the rocks with the shark still on it
I agree with you. There must have been hundreds,, maybe 1,000’s of Spanish mackerels that day in front of me jumping and chasing bait. I send lots of fish back into the water. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👊🏽

Can you eat that little shark?
Depends on the shark type. But one per day and the have to be 24 inches at least.
