every trip should be adventure....nothing dangerous ...just a good adventure. and to have a bull red show up......magnificent! A bucket full of fish, a single bull red, or even an occasional "skunk" it all shows as being a real life fisherman like the rest of us. Its what makes this channel so watchable...keep up the great work....
I love seeing you catch fish on the rods I built it really makes my day when I see a new video drop. If the rods break on monster or a guppy, don't worry I got you covered.
Thanks Andrew! I’m saving my pennies for the 7’ UL spinning rod that I want to pair with my little 500 series spinning reel. I’m going to test it on the Bull Reds soon.
Audio was really quite good for the conditions, another great video but I'm surprised you didn't lose him on the jetty. You have to be able to horse them in at the very last or your in the rocks.
I stop at that Whataburger every time I head to Corpus! Also the gas station at the beginning of the video-is that at the intersection of Harlem and Beechnut???
Great video Mark I have a question I been using 30 lbs braid no leader for a while... I just tried a 15lbs leader Fluorine carbon I did a blood knot and it’s getting stuck on the guide or micro guides.. what type of knot is a good and strong one? Love the videos
Micro guides definitely pose a challenge. I’m sorry but I don't know any other knots. I’ve tied many of them but they always failed me so I go back to the blood knot.
Love your videos bro! Hopefully one day we shall meet in a fishing spot! I always fish the galveston area and in the market for a kayak. Maybe you can show me the ropes on how to edit videos and best gopro gear you use and how to use artificial (never used any). Keep catching those fish and looking forward to more epic videos!
at (1:14) into the video he says "its 5AM in the morning"... I thought that was funny but idk if anyone else caught that... The video was badass tho!!! Keep going
If you are interested in a rod my contact info is in the video description and you can look at some of my work on Instagram @Mtzrods or www.apollosworkshop.com
Thanks for serving our country! You must not be from Texas. One does not say Port Aransas and Corpus Christi in the same sentence. Complete different towns. Also, Don't pronounce the "g"in Refugio.
Definitely a Texan, just not familiar with the area. Give me a little more time time and more school lessons. I’ll look back at these videos and cringe when I see myself get it wrong. Thanks for not being afraid to say what’s up!
First of all great video! Secondly, Here’s the true, genuine and bona fide definition of “Wey”, annunciated Guey, from a genuine and bona fide proud Mexican. Its true and original definition means a Bull without its testicles, used metaphorically or indicating a person who is an idiot or who is ignorant. It’s a shortened derogatory noun or adjective used by Mexicans to signify ignorance. It can be used either way by most Mexjcans today as a slang term in an informal way like What’s up dude or hey buddy? Or used as an slang insult like Look at that @$ idiot!!! Personally, I don’t like that word at all. Why, it shows no class and there is nooo way it could mean as buddy. If one is a word for buddy, then there are better words used and substituted for that. To me it’s an offensive word and shows no respect to me when it is addressed. I tell you what, if there was a friend or buddy who would address that word to me, I would personally ask him not to call me that, or simply, he is not nor worthy to be my friend neither! Just NO CLASS in that word at all! Again, this is from a person who grew up around Mexicans who had no respect for you. Hope this helps sir!
When you fish the end of the jetty, you've gotta get wet to get the whole experience! Nice fish!

Thanks for this comment! I’m always worried when I have to post a skunk video.
Hey Mark thanks for your service to our great country. I really enjoy your channel
Wow 28 mph wind sound like fun haha
I got skunked Sunday morning at SPI Jetties throwing Spoons, cut mullet, live pinfish, EVERYTHING...
I hate those kind of days.
Jetty's are always tough to land fish from, nice job getting him in on a light rod no less.
Those waves oh man and catching that red good counts double 👏👏👏👏👏 be safe on the way back home
Awesome job on your videos, I've been like some of the fish you catch hooked on them, good work and fish on.
Thumbs up after 1st minute. Funny stuff. Tight lines brothers!
Keep pushing the limits I want to see how far those rods can go. Great video as always.

Great vid, I'm planning on going there soon with a boat to go off shore!
Come back after the issues but you need to fish the north jetty.
awesome jetty action!! i need to get back on my saltwater filming
Refugio! Awesome good to know :)
that was a really strange echo in the audio but it was so windy I am surprised you could even pull it out. Great video brother.
I wonder how the rest of port aransas is? That's our usual spot in the summer but Idk where to fish now beside the jetty
keep some heavier spoons on deck,Mark..... nice vid. ty
I was throwing a 3oz all morning with no luck. Then switched it up and got lucky.
Guey does mean bull !!! Its a bull with no nutts
Get you a good jetty spinning rod and reel 4000-5000 series reel with a 7.5-8 foot rod that's light, especially in the wind
Good catch!! Try Port Oconner Texas Jetty sometime.
what type of camera are you using; video is very clear. Great video.
Hero 6
he said hold my beer. lol. you are from Tx!
joapps LOL
I stop at that Whataburger every time I head to Corpus! Also the gas station at the beginning of the video-is that at the intersection of Harlem and Beechnut???
Just saw the video again, it’s definitely the gas station!

Give an Alberto knot or FG knot a try, they are slim usually work for guides size 4.5 or bigger
Micro guides definitely pose a challenge. I’m sorry but I don't know any other knots. I’ve tied many of them but they always failed me so I go back to the blood knot.

Hey man, did you get the 2019 outback in yet? Ordered mine this week from Delaware Paddlesports. Chris and Billy are awesome there!!!!
Hey Mark! Hold my beer.

South
Wind is a constant in CC
That’s what it seems like 😂. Can never catch a break when I come down.

Rrrreyyyfoohio or refeerio
You should come out sometime bro, but you’re gonna need you yak.
Do not like catching Jack Crev, they destroy your tackle and gear ( unless your a fishing guide and nothing is available ).
Lol fun fact “wey” actually means a bull with balls...so a steer.
actually nick is correct guey those mean bull ... its a term used by ranchers and breeders in mexico
Yeah, that was funny. But Nick is indeed CORRECT!
I picked up a few words here and there living in Houston LOL
Thanks for helping me out guys! Always learning new things!
Sorry but thought guey direct translation was oxen and torro is bull
@@jhuntnfish6872 technically it's Buëy when referring to ox/steers but you know time and accents change a few things over time
Does this guy work? Lol

Love this!!! Always learning something new, thank you. I always knew it as an insult when being used.
