    Thanks, this helped me take out our old, broken dishwasher in a very short time. My only suggestion for installing the new one would be to put the water back on and check for supply line leaks BEFORE putting the circuit breaker back on.

    I'm removing my old dishwasher and installing a new to me dishwasher today. I like the thorough, yet straight to the point instructions. Water, electric, and drainage. I should have ordered a garbage disposal to install at the same time. Oh well, thank you.

    I would have never thought about attaching the discharge hose to the clips on the side of the washer in a way to prevent back flow. Thank you!

      You're welcome. It's also best to have your hole in cabinet going to dishwasher drilled towards top to prevent backflow. I see them routed through the lower all the time. Not much of big deal as a lot have built in check valves. But those fail sometimes and leave you with a stinky dishwasher

    The electrical connector is not called a pigtail. I used to call them Romex connectors.

      @@lytnin88 yes my mistake, you're right the romex connectors/strain relief connectors for romex. My neighbor an electrician always calls them BX connectors

    I subscribed because your flooring is just like my moms and i need to remove her current dishwasher and install a different one.
    Then i need to figure out why her gas oven (that is older than me and I'm about to be 46🤨) doesn't seem to be getting any gas to it🤔. Its almost like the gas line to the oven is shut off. Which is weird because the stove is getting gas and the oven is above the stove top.

      Thanks for the sub! Yeah those old stoves usually arent too tricky if it's basic gas range. Does it have pilot light or igniter? If igniter maybe bad

    Helpful video, but it did not show how the drain line is suppose to mounted up high in the cabinet before I gets clamped on the garbage disposal to prevent anything going back in.

    Ok This video is great and cameras angles ate perfect ‼️ my problem is ., Do i have to remove the red tips from power? Am i not able to de-attach it and push through?

      If youre talking about the red wire caps, you turn off power first then unscrew them from wire connections then unscrew clamp and pull out

    Thank you for the video! Do you recommend purchasing a new dishwasher install kit or just the drain hose?

      You're welcome. Yes if the kit has the water supply line you need. But sometimes just easier to piece together what you need since each plumbing job so different. Dishwasher will usually come with new Drain Hose. You'll need a power supply cord as well if this is a new install or just use old one if replacing 👍🏻

    How would you remove one on a nice new hardwood floor without scratching it up upon removal??

      Screw the feet up and lay down a scrap of some thin wood or carpet or moving blanket. Just take time and carefully shimmy it on to it. Or if you have some plastic bottle caps you could tilt dishwasher and put feet in them and then itll slide easily without damaging floors

    The " washer " for the elbow is a seal/gasket.. the "electrical piece" is a romex connector

    I want to disconnect my old dishwasher. I have to wait for my order for a new one comes in. Do you have to leave water turned off until you install a new dishwasher? So no water supply to the faucets until you have a new dishwasher connected? I need water supply for my faucets.

      Yes you will need to turn off your hot water faucet valve under sink. Thats usually how it's plumbed. You could get a cap for it I suppose if you wanted to keep using it

      @@hmsweet5227 yes you'd have to take water line off valve and cap that outlet. If I were you I'd just turn the valve off and live without the hot water til you get a new dishwasher

      Either that or wait til you have the new dishwasher to do all the work. It doesn't take long to remove the old one

    Be sure to check that there is no electricity going to your dishwasher after you turn the breaker off. Someone mislabeled my dishwasher breaker. Thank God I tested the electricity current.

      1:20 Yes you're absolutely correct, always want to double and triple check. I'm no electrician so I usually take as many precautions as possible 👍

      @@JonnyDIY I have a white black and green with yellow stripe wires that go into my new dishwasher. How do I know which wire goes into which one for my outlet?

      @@jaystreet4004 black usually your power or hot wire, white is usually neutral and yellow and green is ground 👍
