There are a few ideas for how to learn piano Try practicing for an hour each day, or just half an hour if you can't find time. Do more practice whenever you can. For example, on weekends you can do more than an hour, perhaps two or three, or even more. (I learned about these and more on Denelle piano lesson site )
I love this teacher, yes the music industry uses simple chord progressions however the engineers and producers have very good techniques to hiding the chords within the music, and making them sound really complex, Even though your ear says that's sounds so easy. Well why would they do this? Because anyone can use that same chord progression and write a completely new song. Hats off to this teacher.
I am a musician of over 40 years, and I still go back to the very first song that I ever played, and flip it around. What really concerns me is the number of musicians out here that do not know how to read music, or write it. Computerized music has raised a generation of lazy people sitting behind an instrument with NO knowledge of the structure of simple songs.
And I'm studying that daily it's fairly memorization of the terms and rules of music. E G B D F if he studies just before falling to sleep literally. I started out mastering electronics music simply trying to make the robots feel or act like a human. The CREATOR inside is the Gold key. Thx

What I mean by that is that a song can be very good without sticking to that structure, and most importantly, that reading or writing sheet music doesn't mean you know or don't know that structure. Yes, you can adjust the exercise to fit your left hand, but I have to say that fast left hand runs are a lot less common than right hand runs. However, left hand independence is a great thing to have, so by all means go ahead and do it! You also asked: "just by doing it with my right hand will make it easier using my left hand?" No, whatever you build up in your right hand will not transfer itself to your left. We have to train the left hand independently if we want both hands to be in shape :).

I have been following your videos from a few months now, and I have feeling that your videos are probably the only ones I need to follow to learn faster, because these are the top goals I am currently working on 1.hand/finger independence 2. practicing triad inversions in all keys 3. arps and runs, and you are covering all of these very nicely. Your teaching is excellent, but your content selection, order and timing are even more excellent. Thank you so much.
I like the piece of advice you give at the end about slow practice. The end goal should be playing with equal strength and conviction at any speed. There's nothing like a slow, legato scale or arpeggio sequence played in time without rushing or dragging.
Best music lesson/tip I ever got was - play it as slowly as you need to play it correctly - however slow that may be . Then build . That one piece of advice led to me learning stuff I thought was impossible for me.

This is a great lesson. I came here to broaden my guitar playing perspective. The guitar has the same "fills" as these but done in a very different way. If I didn't have so much more styles and skills to explore on the guitar, I would dig into the piano immediately.
@@MangoldProject I made more progress in one year on piano studying Jazz than I have in decades on guitar. Not a natural born musician but (advanced) chords and sophisticated sequences on piano comes easier to me on piano than on guitar! I've not totally given up on guitar, however.

These are the best basic piano skills I've seen so far. I really, REALLY appreciate the clear explanations of what note and finger, when. The speed is slow enough to really follow the details, and he doesn't dummy down the music theory, calling a chord what it actually is..... but again, keeps it simple. THE BEST!
I love these runs to make great ballad.. i learned some and still learning for play FF8 waltz of wizz if not mistaken by me.... its when squall and rinnoa dances together Also love the ballon with letters (notes)
Good video. YES, so important to take time and play it right before going faster. I was taught to not go faster until you can play it perfect 3 times in a row. Screw up once, start all over.
This is helpful. You are providing the same advice; Go slow and be precise. Or Go slow and learn fast. I am working on the runs in Strange Meadowlark by Dave Brubeck who plays them like glissandos. I am trying to patient and realize this could take a couple of years until I can play the piece. Fortunately, the sheet music indicates the fingering used!

This was a very good lesson because the run can be used with any cord. When I need a fill I can use all or part of the run. Because I have been playing chords for a long time my right hand had no problem with this. I can use this run with any cord! Thank you.
This was a great video and taught me things I never knew such as the effect of the sus2 chord. One piece of advice I would give is to not focus on fingering, because people will be able to figure that out on their own. I'm not sure if anyone else agrees but that's my opinion and you're free to take it on board or completely disregard it

Start out with easy songs. Make sure that you learn how to identify every note on the treble and base cleff. There may be flash cards at your local music store to help you learn things. Such as what everything means. The clef symbols, the natural, sharp, base, and note meanings. Also what key the songs are in. Including what the time frame represents. If you want to learn how to play, then practice. I've played for 22 years. Yet I learned how to do so on my own.

This was a very good lesson because the run can be used with any cord. When I need a fill I can use all or part of the run. Because I have been playing chords for a long time my right hand had no problem with this. I can use this run with any cord! Thank you.

This was a great video and taught me things I never knew such as the effect of the sus2 chord. One piece of advice I would give is to not focus on fingering, because people will be able to figure that out on their own. I'm not sure if anyone else agrees but that's my opinion and you're free to take it on board or completely disregard it

Start out with easy songs. Make sure that you learn how to identify every note on the treble and base cleff. There may be flash cards at your local music store to help you learn things. Such as what everything means. The clef symbols, the natural, sharp, base, and note meanings. Also what key the songs are in. Including what the time frame represents. If you want to learn how to play, then practice. I've played for 22 years. Yet I learned how to do so on my own.
