This is exactly what a self-taught "wanna be" like myself needed. As a visual learner, your illustration and demonstration was perfect. Hope you continue sharing your innovative techniques on video. Thank you so very much. God Bless!
I''ve watched a number of your videos on UA-cam and I have to say that you are a great teacher! I have picked up so many ideas and techniques. You are truly an inspiring person and one of my piano/keyboard "guides". Continue to leave your legacy in space and time. It will surely bless many as it has blessed me...
as far as instructing goes, you can't be beat. excellent teaching. now it just falls upon us to follow your instructions. You've made something that looks very difficult, very easy. THANK YOU.....THANK YOU .......!!! (part 1 and part 2 )
Thank U for waking up my lazy paws for a while my piano was sort of dead my fingers love your teaching can't wait for more, my neighbours love it and it feels like my hands was a sleep when I practice but these lessons are waking up more and amazing results are happening mixing this stiff with my collections.Cant wait for more than U ever so much
Well, having good technique doesn't necessarily make me a good teacher. Rather it's my ability to explain concepts clearly, as well as identifying mistakes my students make and correct them (if it's 1-1 and not a UA-cam video).
Your videos are great. I only began using them today, and appreciate being able to quickly add the techniques to my limited repertoire to play around with and improve over time. Its funny I watch your video and immediately sit down and play something like I never had before, and I can't help but think that your very direct and accessible style of teaching and demonstrating are to thank. I can assure you I will move through all your technique and harmony videos at the very least. Thanks again.
Hi John. Good to hear it helped you out! You've probably already found it, but in case you haven't, there's a prequel to this video: Learn to Play: Fast Piano Runs (Fills). Welcome aboard and I hope you get some useful ideas from my other videos. Feel free to ask any questions.
Thank you and God bless you! This is an amazing trick that looks and sound incredibly difficult, I will now try to spend a few thousands hours learning all of it ;-)
Really looking forward to it. I feel like I practice and practice those simple sus2 arpeggios you taught in the last video and I get a little faster and cleaner but still mess up a lot. Is it true that after 2 years you've reached your maximum speed capabilities? You play very, very fast. I'm trying to get there.
theseansterful No, it's not true that your max. capabilities are reached after 2 years. First, don't count days, count hours. Practicing 30 mins/day for 2 years is totally different from practicing 4 hrs/day for 2 years! The first yields 365 hours of practice, the second 2920 hours. As a rule of thumb, you need to clock several thousand hours to feel fluent, and around 10,000 hours to become professional (i.e. concert level pianist, assuming the natural talent is there). It also makes a big difference WHAT and HOW you practice: it's important to vary your exercises and practice properly, just like with, say, weight lifting. I should make a video about practice routines at some point ...
Good information. Practice routines is a good idea for a video. Also order of progression in music theory since there is so much to focus on and we need to practice every day. Major scales, triads/inversions, minor scales (different kinds), arpeggios, more advanced chords (your formula on chords was awesome by the way), blues scales, and even then you have all of the modes and how/when to apply them etc. The more I learn the more I this inventory of stuff to practice grows with a limited time there has to be a good system of when to practice each concept rather than just saying arbitrarily "ok today I'm going to run through everything in D#/Eb).
Have just begun researching ways to improve piano playing and find this way of teaching very helpful because it is very clear and simple. I have glanced at a few others, which fall short of it, hence not very useful. Therefore, my gratitude to MangoldProject. I will keep watching your videos.
Hey there Guy! Your a real good piano teacher. I definitely benefited from your tutorial. This tutorial has done wonders for my dexterity and speed on the piano keyboard. Please make some more.
You're welcome! Building up technique and speed will always take time & work, but I think most people become a lot more motivated when they understand the "why" behind what they're learning - I hope I managed to convey some of that.
I thank you a lot for sharing your knowledge and piano techniques with us. I always like, enjoy and learn so much in through your videos. Keep up the good work! Thanks again
10mil. subs with the tiniest push on ads mate...your content is the real deal and truly authentic....go for some publicity if you can, let people see u, know you and all.
thanks for the lessons mangold, it really is helping me a lot with the theories behind playing piano, i don't have a formal piano lesson backgroung rather i read a bunch of music books to give me ideas about music...
I hope everything is going well with you and this message of mine will reach you. I am very grateful to all your hard works in teaching all of us what you have. I found you amazing. I benefited from you a lot. I have no words to express my sincere gratitude to you. Simply put it, you are the best. Thanks a million.
Thanks a lot sir, really this video we especially i learnt from you sir, few people only teach like this, you are great sir, thanks for teaching slowly and clearly sir from Bangalore India, Jesus bless you sir
Amazing tutorial, thank you very much... I'm wondering why is there 67 unlikes as of now feb 15, 2020, what they're thinking because this is 1 of most very good tutorial mostly in beginner like me. God bless us all... From: Philippines.
Excellent lesson. These things looked like magic to me 3 years ago and now they are really easy, at least in C major. May I ask if the green rubber band on the left has a piano-related function?
Thank you so much, the video was very awesome. I personally think that really learnt a lot throughout the interesting and wonderful video!! :D Hoping for more video hearing from you soon
I posted the comments below under the name: Randy Davis-Well, it's not really him. I was just using his computer when I realized that it posted using his name. I am Consuelo-(his wife). Now I'm using my computer. But, just the same, I want to thank you so much for your awesome video.
Omg so beautiful!!!! Did you have lessons for a long time? I had maybe two years of lessons when I was 8-9 then didn’t play for years.... Now, I’ve played for 25 years sight reading music... I play in a band, but I’m no where near as accomplished as you are... You’re great!!!
I am a guitarist planning on learning the keyboard in the next few months. I am very motivated by your lessons. Could you tell me how you would connect some of these techniques to jazz and/or blues or whatever other techniques you would recommend for that style of music. I am not interested in making long fast runs all the time cause it probably won't fit my style of music, but I will practice them anyways cause they seem to make excellent exercises regardless of a persons style.
+Javier Martinez I think that would depend on the particular technique you're talking about. Runs can be thought of as arpeggios and fit very well with a lot of jazz soloing techniques, but you'd really have to be more specific if I am to give you a meaningful answer.
This is exactly what a self-taught "wanna be" like myself needed. As a visual learner, your illustration and demonstration was perfect. Hope you continue sharing your innovative techniques on video. Thank you so very much. God Bless!
Same for me
Same for me too ❤

Good stuff bro, really appreciate your lessons. Clear and concise. I'm learning a lot from you.
Thank you for blessing others with what God has given to you. Your tutorials help make learning easier to understand.
By the time I finished your lesson it really did not look so difficult after all. At least now I am not scared to give it a try.
Thank U for waking up my lazy paws for a while my piano was sort of dead my fingers love your teaching can't wait for more, my neighbours love it and it feels like my hands was a sleep when I practice but these lessons are waking up more and amazing results are happening mixing this stiff with my collections.Cant wait for more than U ever so much
I think you are a good teacher no one compare because you have a good technic thank you.

Really looking forward to it. I feel like I practice and practice those simple sus2 arpeggios you taught in the last video and I get a little faster and cleaner but still mess up a lot.
