Two more. Don't get mad or frustrated or abandon them when they get old and make a mess. They're still the little one you fell for years earlier and more than ever need to know that they're still loved. And it'll break your heart to do, but stay with them in their final moments. Don't let them die alone on a cold table at the vet. The memory still hurts to type now, but when my little boy went, (he chose the time when he stopped eating or drinking. Taking him to the vet only saved him a few days of suffering) I held him until well after. He knew he was loved right up until his last heartbeat

I held my beautiful long haired GSD paws, she adopted me when she was 18 mos and my life was blessed with her 12.5 yrs. when Our Lord gently called her home. The one in my pic saved my life along with my faith. Don't turn away from them in those last hours, be alone with them in those final moments of light, give them warmth and honor as they go Home- You'll see them again when you arrive at the Mansions of the Lord, they will remember and Our Lord will ask THEM if you loved them

The last tip is so important. Pet, cuddle, and talk to your dog as much as you can. You don’t have as much time with them as you think and the time you do have is never enough.

It shows and says a lot about you as a Person as well resonating with said traits in order to realize their importance when recognizing and admiring such traits in others and in those we Love. I also find the incredible unwavering loyalty shown by Dogs to be a almost perfect example of the anthropomorphism of how to have perfect Faith, Trust, and Love for those most important to us. My new rescue understood everything, still does. If I taught her something new, she had it first time. Many things I said to her, she understood and acted accordingly, first time.
I dropped a pill bottle, it rolled away. I asked my long time boy, I raised from a puppy, to 'get it'. He wouldn't. I asked my new rescue, a year old to, 'get it'. She pounced on it, grabbed it and brought it right to me! I had never shown nor asked her this before.
She's done so many amazing thing it often leaves me astonished. Of course I treat both of them equally and the same. Equal treats, equal lovies. I read that favoritism often can leave the least rewarded dog depressed over time. Happy dogs, happy lufe.

Looking back, I’m saddened to see I didn’t allow my first dog to sleep on my bed. Today, all my dogs can sleep anywhere they want. They usually choose a spot on the bed with me. I keep my voice down, I dont yell at them, never hit them. I always hug them when I get home and I give them a treat after mushings. I try to pay attention to their messages to me like “I’m hungry,” “ let’s got w[for walkies,” or “can we go on the truck?” I make their dinners from real food, cooked or raw. I add special treats in their meals like melted butter on vegetables, leftover people foods, liver or meat. They both come to me after dinner as if saying, “that was so good, thanks dad.” I always tell them “good girl or good boy” and I gently let them while saying it. They both respond, ears up and they show expressive “love eyes.” ❤

When I first started walking him, he was already three years old - he belonged to a disabled friend - and was scared of the outside world. It took him nearly two years to start acting like a dog and sniffing the world around him. Now he gets totally lost in his doggy world at times when he finds something interesting to sniff and loves long walks out in the wilds. Yes, he loves new places and meeting new doggy friends. I think he enjoys his new home since his mummy died and I became his forever daddy!

Everyone seems to forget that dogs are pack animals and in the wild the old and the weak will loose there place to the end of the line or maybe be left behind all together even possibly get attacked and killed...when your dog becomes old, sick or injured they need reassurance they still have there place sometimes more often then you had too when they were young, fit and healthy....like a human they need to know they still have reason and purpose...

Some dogs don't like eye contact if it has a bad feeling behind it, also smells can determine a dogs mood.

I enjoy watching these videos . I was a terrible dog daddy. I had a beagle given to me and he was six years old . I took him to obedience classes but unfortunately he never did get house trained and I had to keep him outside . I put a heater in his doghouse ( in Bakersfield California the winters get a little nippy).
I took him when I was at a shooting range and the lady pulled up with this beautiful beagle . She said she had six dogs and they all picked on him . She claimed he was house trained .
I had no idea if the level of energy a beagle needs about an hour a day . I was very impatient and after a while I tried to find a good home for him but was unsuccessful. Eventually I took him to the shelter and decided I should never own any pets because I didn’t have the patience. I feel so terrible but it wasn’t fair to “ Max” I hope he’s in doggie heaven now.

My dog a golden retriever has loads of toys. I say where is rudolf the reindeer and he brings it back. Where is foxy he brings it back. Where is ducky he brings it back. 😔 More or less any toy he brings it back but mention biscuit it’s dropped and straight over to sit down right in front of you to stare you down with a wagging tail ! A clever dog even watches TV and brings me socks nearly every morning! He is the best dog I ever had ! 👍

My dogs know I AM the pack leader but I have companion dogs NOT working dogs, not herding, service and God forbid fighting types. NO dog should be left in the backyard by itself. They are domesticated animals who thrive on companionship. TOO many thoughtless breeders are causing millions of dogs to be killed in shelters all over the planet. Go visit a kill shelter-probably your local pound and see for yourself what misery humans have caused to the most beautiful animals on this planet.
GoD blessed the loyal and unconditional loving DoG with his name so perhaps humans could learn those 2 qualities from the DoG.

there is something most owners dont know even you tube, animals are born without a soul!? notice a dog like mine her name was brandy, brandy iived 17 yrs and died in her sleep, like most humans do, ? when she was a puppy the tearing up furniture, the trash can and what is inside it, making a mess , well dog need to understand better then teaching them, i had brandy baptized in a catholic baptizmism , before the blessing she came upon a statue of jesus and she wanted to rip it up! , but after the blessing , she cried next to it, ! her whole life people use to say that she acted like a human more then a dog?she was the one thast knew if there was trouble going to happen in the house between others then we did, and she made life in peace.brandy was cremated and buried in a coffin in a cemetary like a human , and people have told me that as they walked by her headstone they were at peace,! some people stand or sit there for hrs, and dont know why?TO NOTE, IF YOUR DOG OR CAT ISNT BAPTIZED , GET IT DONE AND WATCH THGE CHANGE IN BOTH YOUR LIFE AND THERES?

Don't tell me, it's been proven, the Doberman looks you straight in your eyes and can can look at your soul and you'll know it. And they stare at you when you don't even know it. The Doberman is the only dog that will stare at you straight in your eyes ! Mine does !

When I get my hat, my Buddy will wag his tail so fast, if he’s near a wall, he’ll dent the drywall! He knows it’s time for a walk. Happy tail syndrome is a real thing. He’s bloodied his tail, so I keep it wrapped in a towel.

You shouldn't let certain dogs sleep in your bed. For example a chow chow will think the bed is actually his. I've witnessed chow chows over reacting to a stranger touching or sitting on "their bed".
The attack ended up causing injury and the owner put the dog down. Sad really

my pom knows what i say, he's 3 years old and I've only had him for 4 month's,, last month i gave him a stuffed bear thats the same size as him,,last week i told him to ,'' go hump mr bear'',, he jumped off the bed and immediately started humping mr bear ..i try to keep the words simple and repetitive and he usually catch's on pretty quick.
