You got that 100% correct. I get along much better with dogs than people and cats love me too, though I don't understand that but welcome it as well. I love all animals and I suppose they sense this about me. They're my sweet hearts. I thank God for them all.

It shows and says a lot about you as a Person as well resonating with said traits in order to realize their importance when recognizing and admiring such traits in others and in those we Love. I also find the incredible unwavering loyalty shown by Dogs to be a almost perfect example of the anthropomorphism of how to have perfect Faith, Trust, and Love for those most important to us. GOD BLESS you, your Loved ones, friends, and all our animal companions we know and Love as Family.

Two more. Don't get mad or frustrated or abandon them when they get old and make a mess. They're still the little one you fell for years earlier and more than ever need to know that they're still loved. And it'll break your heart to do, but stay with them in their final moments. Don't let them die alone on a cold table at the vet. The memory still hurts to type now, but when my little boy went, (he chose the time when he stopped eating or drinking. Taking him to the vet only saved him a few days of suffering) I held him until well after. He knew he was loved right up until his last heartbeat

I held my beautiful long haired GSD paws, she adopted me when she was 18 mos and my life was blessed with her 12.5 yrs. when Our Lord gently called her home. The one in my pic saved my life along with my faith. Don't turn away from them in those last hours, be alone with them in those final moments of light, give them warmth and honor as they go Home- You'll see them again when you arrive at the Mansions of the Lord, they will remember and Our Lord will ask THEM if you loved them

Dr. Jones recommended Triphala. It's inexpensive and readily available. My guy has been taking it for several months and it's restored enough of his vision so he can function normally again. I crush it and add it to his food.

Looking back, I’m saddened to see I didn’t allow my first dog to sleep on my bed. Today, all my dogs can sleep anywhere they want. They usually choose a spot on the bed with me. I keep my voice down, I dont yell at them, never hit them. I always hug them when I get home and I give them a treat after mushings. I try to pay attention to their messages to me like “I’m hungry,” “ let’s got w[for walkies,” or “can we go on the truck?” I make their dinners from real food, cooked or raw. I add special treats in their meals like melted butter on vegetables, leftover people foods, liver or meat. They both come to me after dinner as if saying, “that was so good, thanks dad.” I always tell them “good girl or good boy” and I gently let them while saying it. They both respond, ears up and they show expressive “love eyes.” ❤

My new rescue understood everything, still does. If I taught her something new, she had it first time. Many things I said to her, she understood and acted accordingly, first time.
I dropped a pill bottle, it rolled away. I asked my long time boy, I raised from a puppy, to 'get it'. He wouldn't. I asked my new rescue, a year old to, 'get it'. She pounced on it, grabbed it and brought it right to me! I had never shown nor asked her this before.
She's done so many amazing thing it often leaves me astonished. Of course I treat both of them equally and the same. Equal treats, equal lovies. I read that favoritism often can leave the least rewarded dog depressed over time. Happy dogs, happy lufe.

I have a girl thats half lab half. Pyrenees. Shes the sweetest spirit dog ive ever seen. They do pick up on ur love for them too. They know ur moods , if ur sick , happy , sad. They sense these things . When im down for what ever reason? ,She knows . She will make her way up close, lay her head on my lap , or if im petting her? She raps her neck around my forearm like shes hugging on me . When u spend time with, and show them their the center of ur heart by looking in their eyes while u tell them things of how good they are? Yea , i know she understands. Every where u go they follow. Wont take their eyes off u. Eager to please u any way they can. I know she understands what i tell her . Anything i tell her to do she does without flinching. A dog only response as good as the attention they get. It takes time invested to train . The rewards u get is priceless. No leash needed cause they stay right next to u at all times . If i want a soda from the fridge? I got a towel off the handle. She willl open it up , grab the can , bring it to me, then go close the door. An come jump up on the couch an lay down beside me. Ive never seen nothing like it lol .

They do understand when you talk to them. Actually they talk to you too. We are not the only beings on this planet that have languages and talk. Second, no sleeping in my bed, I will cuddle on floor. They are highly intelligent speak to them with love like you do anyone else. Respect them and learn what they tell you, what they want , how they feel, much is transmitted through to us in many ways... watch, learn, understand them. Walk, talk, play, give time, this will help you, too... Of course they are family, too... always and forever

Mine loves that first 15 minutes in the morning when I'm trying to get dressed and he wants his cuddles 🥰❤❤ then he rolls onto his back for his belly rub.
When I first started walking him, he was already three years old - he belonged to a disabled friend - and was scared of the outside world. It took him nearly two years to start acting like a dog and sniffing the world around him. Now he gets totally lost in his doggy world at times when he finds something interesting to sniff and loves long walks out in the wilds. Yes, he loves new places and meeting new doggy friends. I think he enjoys his new home since his mummy died and I became his forever daddy!

I once saw someone try to lead a horse and the animal just wasn't going to move. I said, "STOP staring at the horse. Turn away, look where you're going and start walking." Sure enough, the horse walked along happily. Staring is threatening to prey animals outside of their protective herd.

They are so spoiled , they are called "smoochie poochies "( we're talking about a 65 , 80 , and 95 pounds dogs ) . They are nice enough to let my 17 yr old daughter have about a foot at the side of a king size bed they all share

They definitely understand/relate to my words. In the old world 1950/60, in our arrogance we didn't give them a whole lot of credit, many thought they "didn't" feel pain.
Even today they aren't given nearly enough credit for their worth.

Everyone seems to forget that dogs are pack animals and in the wild the old and the weak will loose there place to the end of the line or maybe be left behind all together even possibly get attacked and killed...when your dog becomes old, sick or injured they need reassurance they still have there place sometimes more often then you had too when they were young, fit and healthy....like a human they need to know they still have reason and purpose...

They definitely understand some words and shushing seems to also be very effective from breed to breed. I've also noticed that some words dogs seem to understand without having to train it. For example the word bag seems to work very quickly with some dogs. It doesn't require as much training and Association as other command words

I like that you said treat them as dogs & not human babys. To many people humanize them. They are not human & they dont want to be. They want to be a dog. And seeing them as a dog dousnt mean u love them less. You are not loving them more by thinking they are human. Opposite is true. See them as a dog. Love them as a dog. They can be family, but they cannot be human. And that isnt less.
