@theunknownstuntman4010 absolutely!!!! When I was facing the Valkerie Queen in God of War, I was focusing so hard I actually made myself get lightheaded 🤣🤣🤣
@princessthyemis please don't mention the Valkyrie queen to me, that absolute nightmare stopped me from getting a platinum on GoW, could not beat it. I got so wound up it triggered my IBS 😆
Imagine if, at the end of the video, we hear the sound of another PS Access member walking in the room then screaming: _"Ah! A spider!"_ Then smacking spider-Rob with a newspaper.
My pet peeve is when my boss asks why I'm late to work every Friday. He doesn't seem to understand my reasoning of "Because it's 4 pm in Bath, UK" He always replies with "Well, it's 8 am here." And my work HP & MP bars deplete by half 😢
Glowing boss weak spots on bosses is a form of natural selection, if you'll bear with me. While hiding vulnerabilities is a survival trait in real life, video game bosses know that they'll never get screen time if they don't broadcast their weaknesses. Bosses are, at heart, drama queen virtuosos.
I love the "last tiny bit of health" part of the fight where he could literally stand on a Lego brick and be all like "Uuaaaauuugh!" *explodes* Absolute divas.
If the final boss really wanted you dead they wouldn't throw countless mobs at you to farm xp from. They'd just gank you as soon as possible when you're level 5 or so.
Videogame Bosses need to stop being in a really big empty room at the end of a long corridor that let's you gain xp and good rewards (power-up items, new weapons/armour) from enemies, alongside chests with healing items and power-boosts to stock up on. But, in particular, they need to stop letting the good guys encounter SAVE POINTS right before you walk into the room where the music changes.
Here's something they should consider: the easiest way to beat tower knight is to finish the levels you are meant to do before tower knight, like 2-1, 3-1, or 4-1. I think a stream where Rob starts with 2-1 and works his way that way would be better than him trying tower knight again, and 15 minutes into a 90 stream he's already triggered - he doesn't deserve that
The eyes on a human are weak spots. Imagine if you were a fly and you were tasked with taking down a human, you'd probably go after the eyes to weaken them and then go for the throat or into the ear to get at more lethal weak spots. I do agree with the glowing weak spots that the boss just opens up randomly when there really is no reason to do so, though.
These friday features are what keep me going at the moment. With work life being stressful at the moment it's good to know I have something to look forward to each week. Thank you playstation access
The bosses aren't placing those friendly healing items before their arenas. It's the same person who effortlessly runs through dungeons in games like Dark Souls and lights all the torches so that you can see where you're going.
Hey, Rob, first time commenting on one of your videos :) I just wanted to thank you for all the Friday features you create. They are a bright spot on my Fridays and never fail to make me smile or spark my interest for games I have yet to play. Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to next Friday! Also, have you ever done a feature on games you regret playing or ones that you were looking forward to and then were severely disappointed in when you finally got your hands on them? I know that's happened to me more than a few times 😂
Bosses need to be strict with their city council over zoning laws to prevent merchants from setting up shop just outside. Heroes who might normally have blown through all their ammo and consumable items but are cash rich after plowing through the hordes of minions, now have the perfect opportunity to get perfectly prepared for whatever the boss has to throw at them.
I am so happy the Friday Feature is back. It's my absolute favorite video series on this channel with my second favorite host. The first is Delsin. Sorry, not sorry, Rob!
One thing I am secretly glad bosses sometimes do is send weaker enemies we can recover some health from. Example: Force Unleashed at the final battle. You have a choice to fight Vader or the Emperor. If you fight Vader it’s a one on one fight. No chance to recover health. Fighting the Emperor, between each phase Palpatine sends minor thugs to fight you. You recover some health after beating them. They’re like “Walking Health Packs”.
The bug secret form at the end was so funny! I wish bosses would stop being so rude and taking cheap shots before you're ready. There are rules of engagement to follow!
More of a "game designers should stop doing" thing, but gated health bars where enemy health stops going down when certain thresholds are met, whether for an animation or a mechanic that makes them invincible until you do a certain thing. In this day and age there are numerable ways to make boss fights interesting with combat mechanics, making them impervious to attacks just feels like they wanted the fight to be longer but didn't know how to make it interesting.
This more qualifies for major bosses, but they need to stop sending mini bosses more fitting to the hero's current skill/equipment level, if they went after heros as soon as they landed then they wouldn't have those ultra powerful spells and weapons to use and the fight would be over before it even started.
Ah, great funny video as usual. You forgot one more thing ... Boss who just sits waiting on the throne (or big arena room), instead of chasing after the heroes the moment they step on the dungeon/castle/temple. Unless you are a certain aristocrat who likes to drink wine and throw the cup after that, you have no valid excuses to not to go after the heroes. Especially if the dungeon/castle have some sort of gimmick/mechanism that can weaken your combat prowess/fight. Do not let the heroes obtain those gimmick.
I hate it when a boss has a form change or a complete change to it's attack pattern half way through the fight, Black Bear Guai on Black Myth Wukong with the fire mid way through is destroying me! (so annoying! lol)
"stiff doors in listed buildings" rob your commentary is not only the truth, ironically your observation skills would make you a great in game selection
Uh-oh. Looks like Delsin's vengeful tendencies are beginning to resurface. Rob seems to have completely forgotten about when Delsin and Gary Fist tried to do away with him several years ago. Rob's poor memory could very well prove to be his downfall. At least remember this, Rob: Never drink a Dr. Pepper offered to you by Delsin.
if i was a dev i would definitely leave a "healthy" cabinet nearby an arena but be poison that nerf you and autosave. that is what you get for trusting the enemy to heal you
Wyzen should also be included when it comes to finger bosses. Despite being larger than the planet, all it takes to defeat him are a thousand punches to his not-so-dainty digit.
It’s a good point about the final boss mutating into an insect form. I have often thought if they win they’re a bit stuff afterwards being stuck in that form! 😂😂
As soon as I heard Rob say his arena would have a trough I immediately thought "filled with Dr. Pepper." Glad to know my mind is working on his level now.
Patterns! As soon as I saw the clip of Ripper Roo I thought about the damn patterns. You could stand on a certain platform for a week and he wouldn't come near you. At least Tiny in Crash 2 was unpredictable.
I wasn't expecting that ending, the continuity with it was what cracked me up😂: please have Rob do a Friday Feature as a spider for at least one video just for the gag🤣and then have it end with Rob turning back into human form💖
Bosses that teleport minions into the arena to fight for them. Or to help you regain health. Bosses that throw attacks where you aren't. Big giant bosses that stay in one place, and where you only have to fight the upper body. C'mon, big bosses ought to have a lot of power in their bodies - use it.
How about the opposite of bosses charging? When they walk really slow? You know, when they move like 1 MPH and just let you hose them down with gunfire as they slowly make their way toward you instead of dodging? Or they just let you run away when they could instead do some light jogging to catch up to you and crush you into pulp or what have you?
MOVE LEON! MOVE LEON! 🎶SEPHIROTH!🎶 9:12 In Golden Sun a boss didn't have a home advantage. He was fighting in an area that weakened his powers. When the Boss has to slowly power themselves up with multiple phases. If you know you can get stronger, why are you saving it, just crush the hero from the get go.
They really need to stop having long unskippable monologues before the fight that you have to sit through every. Single. Time!
The games or Playstation access
That's what I love about fighting Harkon in Skyrim -- he has a long monologue that you can skip by walking up to him and swatting him.
why would they stop doing that? it's the most damage they are possible of dealing tot he player.
@@wuebboltc the fact you call it a "swatting" makes it even more insulting for him. I love it!

Funny but relatable, I know I've been there lol

I think we need a Boss Busters special to assist Rob in beating the Tower Knight.

brilliant writing, love these Friday features your a comedy wizard Rob.
Gonna love Desmond especially @ 9:07 lol
Been watching since 2014. Glad your all still well, and doing what you all do best!
montage should've included:
"CLIMB?!!? CLIMB?!!!?!" (though not a boss fight, it is one of my favorite moments)
Good skits and cameos as always!

Either having various types of explosives (aka bright red barrels) or throwing explosive attacks that can be blown up in the bosses' face.
Robs been saying 'You've caught me' at the start of a video to the point where he is a pocket monster for everyone.
No Metal Gear reference? Woah. The worst one for bad battle arenas was The Pain deciding to fight you with bees in an arena full of water.
