I'm experienced with crochet, but I'm new to knitting. I LOVE how you go through these tutorials so meticulously. I was even gushing to my mom about loving your videos. Thank you so much.
You are a godsend, thank you for making all the glove patterns for free, I'm making several pairs for my friends and family in both fingering and Worsted scrap yarn ❤
That’s exactly how I prevent ladders from forming. Any videos I’ve watched in the past have never addressed ladders and how to prevent them. Thanks for that explanation. Great pattern. Already made a pair with the fingering weight and I’ve wanted to use up some of my worsted yarn and this pattern is perfect. ❤️
I have watched a lot of videos. Never have I seen one so thoroughly explained. You are the one I want to get instructions from. You are amazing. Thank you so much for being thorough in your instructions.
Wow!! I thought knitting gloves was going to be incredibly hard, but the pattern was beautifully written and this video cleared any questions I had up! It was so quick and easy. I will say I had to use size 4 needles to meet the gauge but the size turned out amazing and fits my 4 year old like a second skin ❤️ thank you for taking the time to go so in depth for this pattern!
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial and pattern! I've been knitting for almost 25 years but never have attempted to knit gloves, now thanks to you I've conquered my fears! One question: what's the name of this pattern on Ravelry?
I avoid ladders by using Phrancko's Travelling loop technique. Instead of pulling the back needle all the way out I draw out 4 stitches format and bend them over and knot from there. Sometimes five if your stitch markers are going to dangle and your doing plain stitch and/or not doing rib stitch 4 is best so you end your rib stitches on a purl. The other neat thing about this method is that it keeps your first row on the circulars from twisting. and you can easily weave in your tail by knitting the first row after the cast on through the back loop. I never get ladders this way and I don't have to tire y hands out by having to pinch the first few stitches.
This is extremely helpful. I have already worked out my own glove pattern with long needles but think I will get a better result knitting in the round which I haven’t done before but will be now having a go at, thanks to your video. If it’s ok to ask, what is the make and model of your magic loop style knitting needles and where can I get them from?
Hello Madeline! I just LOVED your expertly filmed and narrated Gloves tutorial! Great camera angles and close ups and you knitted slow enough for a newbie (me) to follow. Can you please explain how I can finish off the fingers half-way for Half Finger gloves...I have 3 daughters waiting for these for Xmas. Thank you so, so much! Have a great Thanksgiving. Your fan in Covina, CA
Love your video, very helpful for my first time knitting gloves, I struggle with those cast ons on the start of the fingers , trying not to let them go tight or tangle as I knit the other side.
Wow almost 20 bucks for 100g. That must be some high quality stuff. I got some chic sheep. Sheep chic? From red heart. Waiting on my new interchangeable needle from knit picks to start. Hope the cable is flexible. Wish me luck.
This is brilliant. I’ve been knitting for years but never heard of magic loop! I’m definitely going to try this method but how do I access the pattern on my I pad. I’m going to knit gloves and hats for Christmas presents so your method and video is excellent but I would love the pattern as well. Thank you so much, Sue
Thank you a lot for this pattern!! I noticed that on the pdf file, the instructions for the pinky finger say to M1R in addition to picking up the two stitches I cast on the ring finger.. Is this correct?
I learned that in magic loop knitting don't pull first and second stitches on your front needle too tight. (Loosen your tension)We are prone too because we don't want ladders. But this causes the stitches on the back needle to contract too tight. Hope this helps
Hi. Can I use an 8 loop? I can't access a store now. What changes would need to be done? Secondly, with the yarn I have, 12 rows measure 1½ inches. I guess that messes up with the final size🤔
Hi! Yes you can use a US 8 knitting needle, the fabric may just be a little looser. The row gauge for this project is not as important as the stitch gauge. Your row gauge of 12 rows = 1.5" (16 rows = 2") is pretty close to my 14 rows = 2". A majority of the lengths specified in the pattern are for number of inches rather than number or rows so this gauge difference will have little effect. I would check your stitch gauge (# stitches = 2") and compare. Depending on how tight or loose you knit it may be close to what I got using a US 7 knitting needle. I hope that helps!
Hi! It depends what type of knitting needles. You can do magic loop with two circular knitting needles, but you cannot do magic loop with two double pointed needles. I hope that helps!
Hi! I'm new to knitting. Can i use this pattern for Adult Large size? How many stitches should I increase for each finger and what will be the measurement for the finger and ribbing work measures? I'm intending to knit a pair of men's gloves. 🥺
Hi! I would: - cast on 40 stitches, then work 2" of ribbing - Increase to 14 stitches before the stitch marker for the thumb - Index finger 5 stitches from the front needle + 2 cast on stitches + 5 stitches from the back - Middle 5 stitches from the front + 2 cast on stitches + 5 stitches from the back + pick up 2 stitches from previous finger - Ring: same as middle - pinky 5 stitches from the front + 5 stitches from the back + pick up 2 from the previous finger

If you ever made a sweater/cardigan tutorial, my life would be complete 😭😂
Aww thanks! Maybe one day - i've got some ideas :)
Well explained!!!!! Love it!!
Excellent video, thank you so much!!
I got some small and short needles, perfect size for gloves and sleeves. So you don't have to pull the cord. They are so practical and there's no laps

helo if i want knitting gloves with out finger can i use the same way?
When I go to divide the stitches in half, I keep having problems with them tightening up. What can I do about this?

Can you Use smaller yarn and smaller needles
