It's very amazing to me that so much of the family supports the brothers. I mean these were people who grew up with Kitty and Jose and they support the boys who murdered them. It's so strange but so understandable. It seems like a lot of their family knew but just didn't want to speak up about the SA.

Their childhood was lost. They lost everything. What Lyle and Erik did was full self-defense. They were afraid for their lives. Yes, I agree they shouldn't have gone on a shopping spree, but they deserve freedom they deserve to see their families again. They deserve their childhood back. They served plenty of time in prison. Both Lyle and Erik are full of love and life.. SET THEM FREE!!

No issues letting them out when they have served 30-35 years, especially when there are offenders that get off in 10 years for rape and murder with plea negotiations.
I’m old. My big claim to fame is that I was one of tons of people who had to pull over for OJ on the 405 during the infamous Bronco chase. That said, I remember the Mendez trial too. Ask yourself this; would you be ok w them spending the wkend w you? Nope. Not me.
I am NO liberal and I was NOT pleased with one of your guests the Tennessean Mark? Justice should be blind - but NOT dumb. I didn’t believe them during the trial at the time. I do now… I cannot understand how anyone cannot have a broken heart for these brothers. This wasn’t just gentle sexual abuse. This was violent by the hands of the father. They have served enough time. I feel bad for them having to live with the fact they had to kill them to feel safe. I do not care that they were killed I really don’t. Sexual abuse is a horror of horrors to children
Imagine all the strict fathers out there that want the best for their kids spoiled their kids where they have no empathy left. Where killing two people they wouldn’t blink and spend all their money.

57:12 Tell me, how do you imagine that these boys could protect themselves while being abused if they were scared and obviously still young and much smaller and less strong than their father? How could they defend themselves other than when he was asleep? Maybe it was more a self-defense than a murder if you take these facts into consideration. But okay, not everything can be explained only by the law. The whole truth is broader than legal definitions.

What about the boys, small little boys, and their father entered their bedrooms at night while asleep!!! Molesting them brutally! So what they were eating ice cream!!

The only problem is that even if they were abused, and I believe they were, the evidence did not show that they were in imminent danger. I don't believe the parents were actually going to kill them. Abuse, unfortunately, does not justify killing. I don't think the Court will free them. The case has already been reviewed many times by the legal system, and I don't think the letter nor the new evidence of the other guy being abused at the hands of the father is enough to support that they acted in self-defense. All the new evidence will support is that they were abused, but unless they can prove that they were in imminent danger that night, the outcome is the same. And there was no justification for killing the mother. I am very interested in finding out what will happen with this case.
Was erik supposed to pull down his pants and boxers in court for a strip search? Like how kitty always insisted on inspecting his genitalia?
How many times did they shoot their parents with a shotgun? Was that 15 times & then went to the car to reload? Death Sentences. If abused, you run away - you do NOT take a shotgun to your abuser & enabler & then go on a shopping spree!
It’s not easy to “just leave” there’s fear there and having a powerful man as he was. Ppl were afraid of him themselves that’s why the boys couldn’t tell anyone cause there would find out and then he would do who know what to them. He (José) pd everyone off all the time he even pd the therapist. To tell him everything the boys told him in therapy. So it’s not that easy.

At the age they were when they did this they could have reported the abuse, or left home, the abuse was awful but the murder makes them no better to have planned it the way the did, and after the way they were spending the money. Just my opinion. Also you hear of sexual abuse in prison all the time, would this have not happened to them in prison, and how did they handled it in there, if it happened to them?
