I’ve tied a few of these up and they have been killing it on your home water the past several weeks. Caught a 17” brookie on the upper section today. Cool fly, thanks.
Bro thanks so much for this pattern I tied a few of them up and it was a game changer on the river today they didn't look at any of my other nymphs but once I put this fly on i kept nailing em
Wonderful tying videos. Love your presentation method. The materials presentations display list beats any I have seen; watched loads of tying videos-these are tight. Keep up the good work sir.
This is a great fly, and like all of your videos, very well done. I have been tying a version of this with a Hanak bronze bead, which is rather subdued, and some black peacock ice dub. For a more subdued version of this fly I think it works well. The herl and ice dub give just a bit of flash. In the video you wrapped the herl and the copper wire both towards you. I assume you meant to wrap the wire in the opposite direction of the herl?
@@FlyingTies I am only using the black peacock ice dub as the collar, not for the body. I like the herl much better for the body. I wonder about doing one wrap of CDC instead of fiddling with putting it in a dubbing loop? If it's too fluffy you could cut the fibers off one side prior to wrapping.
I'm new to your channel. Really enjoy your videos and appreciate how you present your content. Want to start tying the flies you are tying. Where do you go to get your materials? Thank you for helping us new guys to get out on the water and catch more fish.
Great job on the tie, but I especially like the way that you display the materials at the end. Nicely done!
Thank you!

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know :)
Nice fly, well tied and concise directions. Added bonus was the materiel display.
Thanks!
dude this is an epic pattern. I overlook peacock as a body material far too often.
Thanks man! Yeah, peacock does have a magic type of quality for some reason.

Haha happy that it worked out :)
@@FlyingTies any advice to make them slightly more durable? Or not really? I don't mind tying a bunch up after it proving it's worth today
I can’t wait to the and fish this fly!
A nice simple pattern well presented and replicated down-under in NZ. Thanks, stay safe and tight lines.

haha, yeah sometimes I mix up the directions :) Sounds like you have some awesome variations of it!

You can do the cdc by wrapping, I just don't because it can build bulk
I’m really enjoying your videos and will definitely be tying this one. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!
Looks great. Thanks. I’m on it.
Excellent tie!
Thanks!
What's size of beads do you use

Thanks for watching! I mostly grab my materials at my local shops or online through Fly Fish Food and Tactical Fly Fisher. Hope that helps!
What color goose biot? Looks brown in the video! Great tie man.
I use brown or "prince nymph brown" but you can use anything dark really 👍🏻
Awesome pattern! Thx for sharing👍
Thanks!
Reply thanks so much learning a lot from your videos
Glad to hear it!
What color CDC is that? Thank you!
Just natural dark dun
Also, what color CDC? Natural??
Natural or medium grey, hope that helps!
@@FlyingTies definitely does man! Thank you! I think the profile you create outweighs the color- but I’m gonna do some variations!
@@mattmcmillen7039 I agree, you can sub a lot of different materials out and it still works great
modernized prince nymph...
Yup
