"I Can Avoid Being Seen If I Wish, But To Disappear Entirely, That Is A Rare Gift."
Thanks for this review Justin, Aragorn along Gandalf is one of my favorite Lord of the rings characters.
Thank you!
I hope InArt finishes the full Fellowship. The potential of having nine figures of this caliber in a display is bonkers! Please don't let us down Inart.
I hope so!
I don’t get why they didn’t do Frodo first
@@ballbagchris6920Frodo and Sam two pack then a merry and pippin two pack
maybe they can but i can't afford it😂
I can't see Viggo on the rooted hair head, but it's pretty accurate in the sculpted hair one.
Interesting, it’s the same head, just 2 different hair styles
@@JustinsCollection Maybe they just were at different angles, I have figures that are 100% spot on at some specific angle, but way off on others.
Could be!
I agree for some reason the rooted hair doesn’t capture the likeness of the actor as much whereas the sculpted one does. It’s weird haha
Yeah weirdly I thought the same thing even though it’s the same sculpt. I wonder if futzing with the hair a bit might make the rooted look better. Gonna play around with that and the eye position and see if that helps whenever I get mine
For the rooted head you need to style him and put some strains on his forehead - otherwise sculpted looks better
Yeah you totally can. I left it how it came as the artist intended
@@JustinsCollection I think that’s the main point why people think that rooted looks off 😂
The stylists who did it should take note then!
I gotta be honest I’m kinda shocked with how many people think this doesn’t look like the character when to me this is EXTREMELY impressive!
I also think that a lot of us 1/6 collectors are “new” to rooted hair and having to style it to obtain the looks we see Inart posting in photos. To me if you just get some tweezers, water, and paintbrush and move the hair to fall on the face like the sculpted it will be perfect.
I think it looks great!
Man. I found myself laughing throughout this video, over just how ridiculously gorgeous this figure is. It seems Inart have discovered a way to extract people from the screen, shrink them down, duplicate them and then sell them.
I hope to get my hands on this guy, one day.
Also, excellent review as always, Justin. You are thorough and entertaining❤
I really like it personally
It looks alive! Absolutely insane amount of detail
Agreed!
The head sculpt with the sculpted hair is one of the best I've ever seen. Hot Toys definitely need to step up their game.
Fair!
This figure is the example of perfection, my only comment would be to have multiple expression head sculpts. But hey, one can dream, great review J!
that would have been dope!
Thanks for showing a side-by-side comparison of the two head sculpts! Based on that comparison, I prefer the look of the sculpted hair version compared to the rooted hair version. The faces seem to look slightly different to me for some reason although I think they should be the same sculpt. I think it's because the paint jobs look different unless it's only due to the lighting on this video.
No problem!
I agree with what a lot of the comments have already stated where the sculpted hair more resembles Viggo imo. I think it a large proprietor of that is where the hair is falling from the root across his face. The gap is quite a bit smaller on the sculpted version as opposed to the rooted. If you could push the two sides a bit closer on the rooted I believe it would make a difference.
Fair enough!
I just purchased the last one they had in stock on that site using your code. I am ok with the sculpted hair. the entire figure, clothing, accessories, etc are absolutely gorgeous!
Enjoy!
Have the sculpted hair version on PO and super happy with this end product! Maybe that’s just me but I kind of prefer the sculpted hair version overall. I fell like it narrows the face more which adds to the likeness. Of course the rooted one boosts the realism though
Oh interesting! As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters!
I only managed to get the sculpted hair and now I've seen this I'm 100% satisfied with that, thank you!
Great choice!
I love the variety of poses you displayed at the end! Great video!
Thank you!
This is without a doubt the best figure I’ve ever seen! Absolutely amazing and fantastic review as always Justin! Also I really appreciate showing the sculpted head also this time around. For someone like me who only collected sculpted was a bonus to see that so thank you
Agreed, I love it!
INART is just on another level
Agreed!
That sculpted hair head looks amazing
It does!
wow, maybe it was just the shadows as you mentioned, or the sculpted hair version just had a slightly varied sculpt, but that looks amazing! So glad I went for that version instead! Overall though, it's nitpicky. This is amazing, and I'm so excited for it to arrive. I agree, the whole fellowship, and some orcs and a Nazgul, and I'll be frothing at the mouth. So excited!
Oh interesting
You are spot on. The scaling with the clothing is perfect. It’s so easy to goof up and ruin a figure with thick poofy fabric for cloaks and hoods.
One of the biggest downfalls honestly with 1/6 figures
So glad I went for the sculpted version, the rooted looks like Viggo's stuntman 😂
It's the exact same head. It just has rooted hair. The difference you're probably seeing is that the hair needs to be styled more over his forehead and on the sides, the way it is on the sculpted hair, which helps a lot.
As I stated, the sculpted version looks superior. Glad you saw it the same way. If anyone is paying $400+ dollars for a figure, I dont think they should be having to 'futz it' to make it look decent.
Oh lol
@@CagedSUPERMANGood luck! I think on this evidence, people who bought the sculpted are unlikely to want to give it up. Hopefully you are able to pick one up down the line.
@@matj007Every figure should be futzed to bring out its true potential. These things are still mass produced and assembled by factory workers.
Even JND release videos on how to appropriately futz their $3,000 statues.
If all you do is lift a figure out of the packaging and plop it on a shelf, your doing a disservice to the product and your own collection.
If you can get that rooted hair to look like the sculpted hair, than the head-sculpt is absolutely amazing
True!
I would make a Helm's Deep doorway diorama to display him in, purely iconic
Agreed
The detail is insane for tinny acsesory
Agreed!
Can't wait to get this Aragorn, Batman and Bruce. Here's hoping the larger batches they've been saying they're going to do finally start to come out.
I hope so!
Aragorn looks incredible! Thank you for the in-depth review!!!
My pleasure!
Would've been cool if they included the torch he carries when he fights the Ringwraiths on Weathertop. Also, would've been nice if they threw in Anduril. Sure, he doesn't get it until ROTK but he's still wearing the same outfit by then, so it still works.
Fair
Thanks for the really thorough review. Looks fantastic.
Have the rooted on po, although the sculpted does look incredible.
Now the wait begins.
Thank you!
Good god, this is one incredible figure. That headsculpt is so realistic and well done. I never noticed that his ranger cloak(the really big one) had sleeves, but the wear on the bottom of the clock from "years in the wilds of Middle Earth" is so great. I showed a picture of Aragorn's headsculpt to a friend and they said that looks too good to be on a figure. I would love to see inart make a figure of the Witch King(the leader of the Nazgul) in their lotr line because that would have massive potential. I would also love to see a Loki figure from inart.
I really like it personally!
Excellent review Justin, long but very good, man that figure is awesome, too bad i didn't pre-ordered it, now i will have to pay more i figure. 😅
I don't know why are some people complaining if the head sculpt is that good, i can see perfectly represented the actor there, the rooted hair and the sculpted one have the same face, the tailoring the accessories, the packaging everything in this figure is top notch, i just can't imagine how good is gonna be all the collection reunited.
well done Inart!!!
Respects.
I think it’s just going to be one of those sculpts that is a bit more divisive. But thank you! I’m glad you liked it!
That stopper in the belt is his whetstone
Good to know!
This Aragorn figure is amazing! Inart has brought out a masterpiece worth having in your collection, congratulations
Couldn't agree more!
I would dearly love to get these LOTR figures, I've been a fan of the books from way back and the movies from their releases. I just don't have the room for them and cannot justify the expense at this point in my life. I will say that this head sculpt is hands down the 100% better than any I've seen on a 1/6th scale figure. He's actually recognizable as Viggo (which you really can't say about all of the others out there).
Yeah totally fair! Space is out biggest issue always!
The rooted hair aren’t good on this one. He misses hair on top and they are too flat. Just hairstyle them on the forehead won’t cut it. Sculpted hair hs is way better this time.
I like it
Justin's Collections: "I think it's time to look at some weaponry. His sword - "
Balin: "Not actually sure it is a sword. More of a letter opener, really."
Lol
I cant wait to get this figure, I think the sculpted hair helps the likeness because of the shadows, it helps darken the face. Either way, I agree its a masterpiece and I hope they make the fellowship and Saruman.
Agreed the shadows help
i dont know..something about the paintwork on the rooted sculpt is off somehow. Why are there those grey brown smudges(?) on the forehead and cheeks of the rooted. the sculpted doesnt seem to have that. You can see it when both heads are next to each other. The eyebrow paintapplication on the rooted is also weird. Somehow i feel that the sculpteds paintwork is slightly superior.
Fair enough, it’s supposed to be some dirtiness
@@JustinsCollection Thats what I thought. But why are they just on the rooted ? I think this dirt kinda distorts the facial features on the rooted compared to the sculpted. The application is so light that it almost looks like the rooted head has a different bone structure and thats why the likeness is not really there.
The rooted hair actually looks really good, but somehow in the paint I can't really see Viggo, but the sculpted hair, to me, has his likeness more
Imagine having some Uruk-Hai to fight
Oh damn
The clothing detail looks great. The Viggo Mortensen look is off though. Those high, defined cheek bones look odd.
I think it looks exactly like him
Fair enough
Agreed
I agree, the head is a little off but its not something I would turn away at. The level of detail and accessories is outstanding and really shows a company cares about the product/craft
Thought you would be the first collector to take the long jacket and gauntlets off. Wanted to see the look he has at end of Fellowship
Styling and tuning rooted hair is like body posing, with tons of articulated hairs. So I consider default rooted hair as default pose just like default body pose when opening a new box, and collectors need to properly pose them. Ive seen so many youtuber reviews of inart gandalf, but since their hairstyle look so different via different reviewers, it always makes me wonder: are they reviewing the same product? ❤
I don’t agree personally. Not everyone will touch the hair. I will review it how it comes to me in the box as that is how it will arrive to you. What looks good to me may not make the product look good. Imagine if the artist styling the head spent hours doing it then I open it up, mess around with it thinking I’m improving it but actually make it worse. I think it’s fair to the artists and everyone ordering for me to review it as it comes. If you have the skills to style it then you should be able to see the potential.
@@JustinsCollection That's understandable that you don't touch it prior to the review. But it's not a bad thing to have fun with it later on if one wishes. :)
Well done Justin, great review and thanks for putting in the effort to get this out so early in the game ! 🍻💯👌🏽✌🏾😎
Thank you!
Can’t wait to get mine in 2025!
Damn!
Great review as always! The sculpt is very good, analyzing it from the point of view of someone who draws, and who has drawn Aragorn's face at some point, there is a critical part in the face that in the prototype was very good and in the production model it has changed a little, is the shape of the eyebrows. In the final version they are straight and well defined, when they should be more curved, with a more rounded fall towards the profile of the face, becoming clearer at the end. Regarding the hair, the sculpted version looks better in volume, because the rooted one has a very flat top, you have to give it more volume at the top, combing it, and more compact or closer to the face at the bottom. The shape of the hairstyle, some strands covering the outer part of the eyebrows (like in the sculpted version) I think would give it a touch more similar to the prototype. Otherwise, great figure!
Thank you! Good to know about the eyebrows etc
Shit the sculpted head looks way better than the rooted one
I like the rooted personally
@@JustinsCollection yeah maybe in hand it looks better but on camera, I tend to agree with the others, sculpted looks more on point
Absolutely amazing looking figure. Can’t wait to get mine and display him with Gandalf.
Nice!
The rooted hair kinda looks like David Duchovny, the sculpted hair actually looks better. It's quite jarring to see the dip in quality, I hope Inart improve their production tech.
Oh interesting
Rooted hair head sculpt just doesn't look like Aragorn to me at all. The plastic hari one looks closer, maybe 6.5~7/10. But what a piece to have!
Fair enough!
In my opinion, I feel like the sculpted hair version looks better, but, overall, both sculpts look amazing. However, that original sculpt is still stunning.
Fair enough!
Great detailed review Justin, thank you. Your last words describe this figure as a Master piece and I completely agree with you.
So good!
Can't wait to get mine. I hope inArt finishes LOTR lines too, but I thought I saw Thorin from The Hobbit in their IG.
Agreed!
Good video thanks, but why didn't you zoom more on the HS? The view is too far.
For the hair, you should have styled it like the sculpted version, and done a simple futz of the hair at the front
I did, make sure you watch the whole thing
It's the same sculpt for both. The rooted hair needs some serious styling to bring out the likeness more like the moulded hair on the left. Rooted still wins IMO, especially if he's stood next to a rooted Gandalf.
Yeah maybe if you spend some time with it
@@CagedSUPERMAN Sculpted looks too thick IMO. In the movie his hair was much thinner at the front. I've seen people restyle it and it looks so much better.
Great review again man! I grabbed the sculpted Aragorn so I hope that he fits in well with Gandalf. Looking forward to to that Legolas announcement next.
Thanks!
Looks outstanding bit like. Many many many others InArt.. Wheres my BATMAN!! lol
Hope you get him soon!
@@JustinsCollection And me. 😅, surely they can only use the saying "we have to get our distribution quicker and diled in" so long before it's starts becoming an excuse imo.. Great vid BTW 👌🏼
I absolutely want this to be successful, the layered clothing looks so freakin good and I am patiently awaiting for the GOT line…Jaime is a must have for me!!!😂😂😂
Agreed I want GOT!
Thank you Justin, probably switching my rooted with sculpted....he also looks he got sunglasses tan!
Oh fair enough
I found serious errors between the final product and the prototype. First prototype what Inart shown us, I think that headsculpt is masterpiece and this one's first mistake is eyebrows too far to up. Second one is the hair one. Hair doesn't start in the right place and I think it's too high. It's also too flat and not evenly distributed over the face. Sculpted one is better. Third one is the skin one. The redness under his eyes is too much, specially routed hair one. Skin tone might be more close yellowish and brownish. So, that's really downgrade to me :( Sorry.
All good, just my job to shoot the reviews, I didn’t make it after all so no need to apologise!
@@JustinsCollection Of course, I understand you very well. But I'm sorry for customers. Companies downgrades everything for these days and make tons of money from it. It make me sick really.
Great review. A very nice piece! Based on your Gandalf review, I guess most of us will be seeing our copy (rooted for me) in about 9 months. It is what it is…nothing we can do!
Hope you get it soon!
I feel like the sculpted makes it look way more like Viggo as Aragorn than the rooted.
All good!
Won’t lie I’m disappointed ~the proto likeness looked amazing ~ production not so much
I guess the question is, is it the best 1/6 scale Aragorn? I personally think yes
Do you know if the bracers slide off or do you have to unbuckle the straps?
You can slide them off
The sculpted Hair does it for me. I do absolutely Viggo Mortensen in that. The other head Looks more Like Rollo from Vikings for me.
Weirdly the sculpt reminds me of Cosmo Jarvis in Shogun....
I like them both
when will it arrive to the rest of the humans? do we have an aproximate date? nice video btw
Thanks! Definitely reach out to your retailer for ETAs
Rooted hair sculpt looks off.
Sculpted sculpt looks like it has the better likeness
They’re the same head
I love the movie and i love the king aragorn
Nice!
Hey Justin, random question, but will you be doing a review on the Hot Toys Mark 7 open armor version?
Yep!
It's weird but to me, sculpted looks better. Kinda like artisan wanda. I prefer the sculpted look.
Oh interesting
Forget about the figures they should be appreciated for the artwork and the designs they use on their boxes they're really underrated.
Agreed
Great figure, but not a line I am collecting! However, I am getting Superman and Paul from Dune. Fantastic quality, great review!
Oh nice! Cannot wait for them!
What are the magnets like? Are they much stronger than Gandalf? As my Gandalf keeps falling over.
Quite strong
How are you doing, Justin? Pardon me for not Commenting Lately. A while back, when you talked about your Mother's Passing, I felt Sad. My Mother has Passed away in the Past as well. Don't get me wrong!? I love Toys but for the Love of a Mother will never be Compared and never be Replaced. I loved and Missed my Mother too. I just wanted to Share that with you, Friend! 😭
Agreed we can do our best to remember them ❤️
@@JustinsCollection May God Bless you for Understanding, Friend! ❤️
I'm surprised at the headsculpt - not as good as prototype with real hair - sculpted looks much better.
Oh ok
Great review looks awesome so life like the poses are endless definitely gonna try pick.him up !
Nice!
It looks like it is already out of stock on 1/6 collective.
Ah damn!
@@CagedSUPERMAN In all seriousness id be happy to buy it from you.
Great review. I would be nly have liked to see the hood for the capes on the sculpted hair figure so it wouldn't mess up the hair 👍🏻. But we got one cape on
Oh sorry!
What other movies did Aragorn son of Arathorn appear in, I wanna watch those!
You haven’t seen Lord of the Rings?
Should I get this or gandalf?
Depends which you prefer
Inhart figure to me seem more classy and luxurious
Agreed
When are your mafex figures going to be revewable
Soon!
Sculpted head sculpt looks way better imo, I don’t think the rooted looks as good
Oh ok
Aragorn at the end of the first film: “leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light.” Bud has all this gear lol
Lol
ohh too bad I didn't watch this sooner. I am not very confident the store I bought this from will ever deliver, so I was looking for another one with this still available for pre-order. Sadly sold out now =/
Hope you get it soon!
Rooted looks like Rick Grimes. Lol
Lol
Just in case you don't see my reply.... Justin, my comment wasn't a slight against your work, I was merely attempting to rationalize why the likeness on the sculpted hair version appears stronger than the rooted portrait in your video. Again, looking at the comments I am not alone on this.
There is something about this head sculpt which gives extremely variable results in videos and photos. The likeness on the rooted head sculpt looks very good in your video, an 7-8/10, and the sculpted likeness a 9-10/10. However, there is one video, a recent Chinese one which runs for 4:44, in which the rooted sculpt looks absolutely stunning; perfect, even better than Gandalf's. Now why this is, I don't know - could it have a better paint apps or is it just a case of it being shot under more natural lighting, or something else??
All good, I’m aware of the video you’re talking about. They harshly lit the sculpt with worked in its favour. I used the same setup I always have which evenly lit the sculpt so it looks as is in the video
Soooo cool! I'm really tempted to get this!
Nice!
Sculpted is much better for some reason.
I like both but rooted is my favourite
Definitely the sculpted one.
Fair
I’m someone who preordered the rooted and it’s painful to say that all pictures or videos so far make me feel let down. I hear all the “it’s the lighting, it will be better in hand, all the headsculpt experts are crying for no reason” and I disagree. If people were honest that headsculpt is scary. Check 21:19… now to decide if it’s worth losing the deposit and never preordering inart again. Should have listened to myself after the joker headsculpt fail. I had hope!
And 23:07 is precisely how I look at all these pictures now!
Ah sorry to hear that!
The fixed hair head looks more like Viggo.
Oh interesting
12:10 "ah, still sharp..."
Lol
Still waiting for my InArt Batman…
Hope you get him soon!
I think you need to cover more of his forehead with rooted hair to get closer to the sculpted hair.
Maybe!
I love Lord of the rings
Nice!
The rooted version appears to have lighter hair, which I think hinders the likeness. Sculpted May we’ll be the way to go.
Could be!
Pues nada... Pongo Aragorn a vender 😅 no me convence
Fair enough
Good luck Hot Toys, can't wait for InArt to take Star Wars license and make a Vader with real material, certainly not pleather
That would be cool
Everything looks great except the head sculpt. For the amount of money you have to pay for this the head sculpt should be 100% accurate to viggo mortensen. Still a nice figure.
I think it’s the best Aragorn figure I’ve ever seen in hand
Looks absolutely nothing like the actor. It's shockingly generic at every angle.
I think that’s a bit of an exaggeration, you can definitely tell who it is
INART Star Wars next please!🤞🤞🤞
Maybe one day!
Collective don’t deliver to the uk :(
Ah damn
@@JustinsCollection I know! I had him and Gandalf in my basket
