Amazing! It would be awesome if there was somehow involved vision of a days of prosperity of the White tree. Do you know that necklaces with small photo inside (Hidden photo necklace/bubble projection necklace etc.) and it is visible when you are looking into it from a close distance? It would be awesome if there was a photo of the White tree when was alive or maybe a photo of a Telperion as its ancestor. My first thought was that it would be awesome if it was hidden in the guard´s eye, but probably really complicated... But if it was in that blossom and if you looked into the center of it, you would see its past which is still present inside of it.
For me this is the best statue ever created about LOTR…. The crafting, the painting, the meaning…. The whole idea is brilliant!😮 Really amazing review, keep them coming!
Great review! Weta really did an amazing job with this one and Im with you about being surprised with the announcement of this last year. I can't wait to receive this!!.
Truly is a beautiful piece, like you I never really paid much attention to the guards in the films but they’re always something I noticed and were in the back of my mind
yeah I always saw them and thought, man wish they could have been seen elsewhere in a battle or something but I like that they had such a unique design to really set them apart as dedicated to guarding the tree. Thanks for the comment!
I have just received my version of this statue (No'482) and I am so insanely pleased with it. The Guardians of the Fountain Court caught my eye the moment I saw the film when I was a kid, I have the Weta mini helmets of them and I painted many of the Games Workshop minis of them. I even have a tattoo of the helmet on my forearm that I had done in Wellington NZ, using reference photos I took of the helmet during the tour of Weta Workshop. I am obsessed. I had just bought my first home a month before this was announced so I had to fight with myself if to spend that sort of money on it but I am so glad I did. This statue has such a deep meaning to me and it could not be more perfectly designed, sculpted and painted. Weta continue to produce such masterpieces. Thank you for your review
It’s a stunning statue mate! It wasn’t easy for me to not go for this one!… But, I have to stick to my ‘villains only’ theme!… (I did PO the Weta WK one!!) Cheers my mate, hope you’re well & as ever, a wonderfully presented video 👍🏻
It is a stunning piece, I am still considering a purchase but the space is running out and I am waiting for the Theoden. Anyway great video, you are one of the best Weta reviewers out there so keep up the good work
Your review captures this perfectly - simply stellar🤩(both the Fountain Guard of the White Tree & your video ^^) I was really amazed when I put mine together yesterday!
Another great video Ryan! They keep getting better and better, both in video production, editing and voice over. And can't disagree one bit on the score of this piece, it's nearly perfect and probably in my top 5 pieces I own. I could gripe about the tree not being 100% to scale, but I have no room for a 3 foot tall tree in my collection. Weta did an amazing job bringing this piece to life and a beautifully majestic statue that embodies Middle-Earth in every way!
Thank you man, really appreciate the kind words... I like to think I've gotten better over the years but always good to hear it from friends. Yeah I honestly think the size is perfect, it's still a rather big statue (as you know) and fits perfectly for where I have it displayed... and you're absolutely right about it embodying Middle-Earth, such a symbol piece. Thanks for the comment Andrew!
Congrats on receiving this wonderful statue, Ryan! A beautiful, insightful, and professional review (as always). I really can’t wait for my copy to arrive…your thoughts made it even more difficult to wait 😂 Thanks for what you do!
Yeah it is much bigger than I thought as well, I had planned to have a classic series Fountain Guard next to it for the area I had planned, but there just isn't enough room. Almost the size of The Dead Marshes.
Yup, omg this statue is just freaking amazing. Glad I bought one of these. Can’t wait to open mine. Awesome review, loved it. I agree 10/10. Great piece to go with all the Gondorian, and Numenorian statues in a diorama. Cheers bud, I can’t say awesome enough
I'm glad you are feeling better ! The statue and your review have one thing in commun: they are both great ! I really enjoyed that you went a bit philosophical when explaining what makes it great. Exactly 250 days until The War of the Rohirrim hits theaters !
Thanks for another thoughtful and detailed unboxing/review! I wasn't too fussed by this release either, but you've given compelling reasons to revisit it!
Ryan you are a master in your art. Best reviewer on UA-cam. Thanks again for these videos and sharing the love of lotr with the world! Keep these beautiful videos coming dude!
Yup, this is one of those Weta statues that are simple, not meant to be spectacular or epic, and yet that capture so beautifully The Lord of the Rings’ spirit. This is a gem, easily a top 3 for me, along with (cool coincidence) Minas Tirith 😄 Another great detailed review!
Another great video! Weta recently had a few of these back in stock after cancellations and I was lucky enough to get one which is being shipped atm. Wasn't on my radar either but when I saw it I knew I had to get it.
10/10🙀🤓 It is a breathtaking piece! I too never thought or imagined a piece like this but soon as setting sight on it it was a must for the collection. Fantastic video as always.
I really like this statue. The review was perfect and I like the guard being able to move on the base, as it lets me display other 1/6 figures on it as well. Now to see the price and buy it
Thank you Frank! yeah it's rare that weta does a magnetic base... I could be mistaken, but I think the only piece they've done that for is the Guard for the MC Thranduil on Throne.

Great review Ryan. It’s an amazing piece. It was an instant pre-order for me and Im still in awe every time I see it in my case. I completely agree with your 10/10 score.
A gorgeous piece. I'm looking forward to my one arriving. Thanks for the fantastic unboxing and review video, Ryan. As usual, it's top drawer (including the writing/script/voiceover). Unlike you however, I have always wanted Weta to produce a Fountain Guard piece. I would even have been happy with the Classic Series version, but this one surpasses my expectations and is a must have for me. Yes I agree, this one is something special.
Thank you Bill, very kind words! I guess it just was never really in my head as there are so many amazing things in the Lore but it is truly spectacular! I think for a lot of people, it was this years "true" Masters Collection piece, even if it didn't have that title. Seriously Gorgeous!
I've waited to watch the video until I received my own. The fountain guards caught my eye in the movie but even more in the original Battle for Middle Earth game, playing as Gondor and fielding these guys into battle was an awesome experience as a kid. I've made it the center piece of my collection, standing underneath the shards of Narsil, seemed lik the best/symbolic way to display it. I love the review.
There really is something strong about the presence of this statue! For me it represent strength, perseverance and duty. I can see these qualities in his eyes.
I wish I was in a position to afford this. So I got the fountain guard by itself. As beautiful as the base with the tree is, that's like an extra 400 just for that. Beautiful sculpts and paint jobs either way.
Yeah it's definitely pricey, but I think worth it, really completes the scene... but you're right the Fountain Guard alone is beautiful. I heard some people were perhaps getting this and then 3 classic series to complete the scene, but that's a lot of $$ and would require some dedicated space... still a cool idea though.

But that opinion comes from lack of space and money which I would rather spent for main characters. But it is an amazing piece and thats what you can only expect frome weta. Congratulations on that piece and video. How do you make that camera effect when you put in the spear?
Thanks Kai! Yeah I agree the tree would go great with Elessar... luckily the base has no dedicated spot so it'll be easier to put Elessar there once released and you could move the Fountain Guard to the side. Yeah it's much bigger than I though, I planned to have a classic series sit next to it, but there's just not enough room. Not sure what camera effect you're referring but besides locking the focus on the Fountain Guard, a lot of the time when I show I clip, I like to always try to have a bit of movement to keep it interesting.. so what you see there is I basically added a slight scaling effect on the clip that starts at 120% and scales back to regular 100%.... this makes it look like it's slowly zooming out without actually having to move the camera slowly out.

I always loved those guardians with the feathered helmets 💗
