Bought an Ender 3 V3 SE last year on sale. Replaced a stock Ender 3. Both great printers. Thinking about now buying a stock K1 which is on sale. Not so much for the speed, but to print ABS. I realized melted ABS is highly toxic, so will need a ventilation system...hmmm. Thanks for you honest video.
I picked up a k1 last year on sale as well. I knew in advance it needed some mods and was OK with it as it was at the time the cheapest way to get an enclosed core xy. I also picked up the latest Gen extruder, hot end, camera and still haven't had to replace anything except nozzle and have over 1000 hours on it. I leveled my bed and got it within 0.15mm variance and I also rooted it and am now running full klipper with all the amazing features and macros. I also did some other things and this printer is also my favorite go to printer. I have 3 other printers and none come even close to the quality and speed of my k1. And they are all modded and running Klipper as well. I absolutely love my k1. I will likely get a larger core xy printer at one point. Considering a k1 max or maybe an SV08 at one point. I am waiting for the prices to go down and will get one. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Don't have a K1 - But I do have the X1C and I think they sat in the same meeting and decided "Yes, placing the spool holder on the back is the best place, no one will ever place a printer against the wall". Sigh
added a micro Swiss flowtech and now using Creality slicer 5.0, runs as good and sometimes better than my X1c, bought from original batch and had to change a few motherboards etc , but currently running beautifully and door still in one piece, would also recommend a riser and remove bowden tube from energy chain
Had a cr10 and now this. It's so much easier. Had to replace extruder but I find the bed to be great with a prit stick. Had no adhesion problems. I print with lid off and door shut with pla plus.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I'm considering getting my first 3-d printer (mainly for my business) to print little cases for electronics. No real detail in our design outside of some simple snaps to lock the pieces together. I was considering this printer because it seems to have good reviews and speed is one of the more important things for me. Would you recommend this to my for my intended use and lack of experience? Or would you suggest something else? Thanks in advance
i started with a used and mildly modded ender 2 a few weeks ago, its not as painful as i thought it would be, but im currently thinking about investing in newer hardware. currently my thoughts are waving between bambu p1s, qidi tech q1 pro and creality ender k1...
I got a K1Max end last year. It went belly-up with a dead motherboard after just 2 weeks. Prints didn't come close to those from my Voron in terms of quality while it still worked.Did send it back, Creality took 2+ months to refund it. I've used (and still use) Creality printers every day, but I won't be touching the K1 series any time soon anymore. Sitting back, looking at what K2 will do, and _not_ gonna be an early adopter (though, truth be told, even the K1Max was a newer batch (new Blue artwork on box, new extruder).
So my son and I are about to venture into the hobby and one of the big questions we are trying to figure out is which printer is best for us. I am a teacher in the US, so budget is a HUGE factor and one of the things I liked is Creality recently dropped the price of the K1 down to 369 on their website. To me this is a steal, but we have also been looking at two other printers as well the QIDI Q1 and the Flash Forge Adventurer 5m (not pro model)... the price of the FF is really playing a big factor for us, but I LOVE the print volume of the QIDI and it's price point at 399 USD is at the top of our budget. With those factors in mind is it relatively safe to order direct from Creality or is it best to buy from Amazon? We are getting it as a gift for my son and I as a christmas gift to do some father son projects. Of those three do you have a suggestion or is Creality the only one you're really familiar with?
To be fair I had an Ender 5 and it was a pain in the bottom I had no problems with my first Ender 3 but like you I think I've already started with an ender five I may not be in the Hobby now
Unboxed mine on Thursday! Loving it so far! 💚🇬🇧🌱
Glad to hear 👍

Id look at bambu Labs machines too I'd say built better easier to maintain

Familiar with the creality model if I bought again I'd buy from Amazon is there Returns on much easier if you have a problem
@@greedy3d480 is it worth the risk if it’s almost 130 us dollars less on Creality website than Amazon with free shipping?
My first printer was the ender 5 and OMG I almost gave up on this hobby and creality has horrible customer service
