    yesterday i got my K1, the first thing i did was:
    - quit pfte tube and put a capricorn tube all out the cable chain.
    - quit 2 pieces of cable chain for best travel of the chain.
    - heat hotend at 200ºc, release the nozzle and squeeze again.
    - clean the rods and threaded rod, put the grease coming in the box.
    - change the smooth pei coming with the printer for a texture pei.
    And slice a rotational spool holder with bearings, uncheck Arc in the slicer and print with 300mm/s and the result is awesome finish.
    This printer is amazing!!!

    You've probably figured this out by now, but it shut down because the voltage switch on the power supply was set on 220. Need to switch it to 115v

    • @GearreportdotCom
      @GearreportdotCom  Рік тому +1

      I texted Chris so he can check the voltage setting. Seems like it shouldn’t work at all if set to 220, it plugged in to 110v. But it would be nice if this turns out to be the reason. :)

    Love both my v1 and v2 most reliable printer out of the box and prints everything including PA6-CF and PA6-GF (Polymaker) effortlessly.

      This was Chris’ K1. It had issues and he ended up returning it. Has a Bambu now. I nearly bought a K1 last week when they weee $415.

    I had a K1. Sold it right away. If you already have a bambu, you will be disappointed. If you dont have a Bambu and have an ender or something similar, you will LOVE it!!! Its a night and day difference from an ender like printer. Falls short of a P1P

      I also had screws on the bottom of my printer when opening. It rattled way to much for my liking. First layer was awfull after 15mins of calibrating. Benchy printed ok but other filaments didn't stick. Only until i switched build sheets with my MK3 did i get a good print. I already have a bambu and so i am comparing the entire exsperience based on that printer. Its not even close to being as good as a bambu. Again, if i only had an ender 3, this thing would be AMAZING!!!! sorry for all the misspelling, i am sofa king buzzed right now for the holiday. Corona. PS, im not driving anywhere or printing anything today. lol

      They quickly identified a couple of issues in the pre-order machines and started shipping a V2 K1 that was much better.

  • @Liberty4Ever
    @Liberty4Ever Рік тому +1

    10:20 - Impressive that the K1 apparently managed to extrude filament for the first print without you manually loading the filament with the Extrude feature in the Settings screen. Creality needs to do a better job with a Getting Started guide to help people learn how to use their new printer. Then again, there are a few warnings about the power supply switch needing to be set to 115V for those not in a 220V country, and it looks like you guys may have missed that.

    got a bambulab printer and never thought that i like that cloud features that much .. so if creality wanna hold some costumers they realy need a strong cloud service and the ability for multi color printing .. i dont want to miss the AMS anymore .. it got much waste but still better than a bad software error that coolsdown the buildplate when u pause for a filament switch ... creality had shown us the last years that they dont care a lot about software

      Actually I just bought a printer and avoided Bambu BECAUSE of the cloud. I don’t want all of my designs and print history going to any manufacturer. There are serious privacy issues with Bambi’s cloud.

  • @MisterkeTube

    My complaint on the K1: How come only relatively obscure UA-cam channels seem to be reviewing it? As long as the reputable UA-cam channels are not doing thorough in-depth and critical tear-downs of this thing, I'll be reluctant to believe Creality's sudden turn-around. Even the Bambu has known flaws, so rather than all the "so great" reviews or unboxing videos, give us complete tear-downs exposing the worst parts of the machine. If those are still acceptable, than Creality has a great machine.

    • @GearreportdotCom
      @GearreportdotCom  Рік тому +2

      I can only speak for THIS relatively obscure YT channel... Chris, who is seen in this video, purchased this K1 himself and was kind enough to let me film his unboxing, setup, self-test and first print in his home. I don't know if Creality is seeding many folks with evaluation units. I do know that this relatively obscure YT channel was NOT given a K1 to review. I can also tell you that I won't be tearing down Chris' new K1 for the sort of in-depth problem-finding mission that you seem to be requesting. If Creality or any other brands care to send 3D printers (we've been reviewing gear since 2009 and receive products from brands every day), then I'll take them to Chris and we'll dig into them. Until then, this is what you get.. :)
      I was completely blown away that this kind of speed and print quality can be had for so little $$$, and with almost zero assemly and setup. As in, I had never touched a 3D printer and I could have done what was seen in the video. I've seen too many other consumer grade 3D printers with significant assembly required and massive learning curves just to print anything remotely sucessfully.
      Is the K1 the greatest 3D printer ever? Probably not. But it looks like a step in the right direction for consumer 3D printing on a relatively light budget to me. At this price point, it is pretty insane, IMHO... even if time proves that there are parts that aren't perfect.

      @GearreportdotCom  Рік тому +1

    • @Exstaz
      @Exstaz Рік тому +1

      @@GearreportdotCom tbh it’s more software then anything. It the diy community that got us here. Without inputshaping this would never be possible with decent quality. The speeds have never bin hard to reach its keeping decent quality while doing it that have bin hard. But the k1 seem to have tons on of ringing. I have yet to see a print not containing ringing.

    What a shaky video, haven’t you heard about tripods? I’m kind of seasick after this video. 🤢

    • @GearreportdotCom
      @GearreportdotCom  Рік тому +2

      We do most of our product videos with a tripod or overhead boom arm. However this was not filmed in the studio. We had a choice… shoot the video on short notice with a phone and wireless mics in a friend’s living room where we couldn’t set up our normal kit, or don’t shoot the video. The wonderful thing about YT is that no one has to watch it. But there are folks who want info on this brand new model and will appreciate the effort, even if it isn’t as smooth as anyone would prefer.
