The fur coat with the black shorts, tights and boots is such a vibe. You looked amazing!! Probably one of my favourite outfits I’ve seen you in!! But then again you look amazing in everything you wear!!!! ❤❤❤
Yeah nightlife is not really what icelands known for. I loved my trip there and came across a lot of lovely people there. I grew up in Sweden which has a similar reserved culture and had to learn to smile at and greet everyone when I moved to the U.S. Iceland has just a more reserved, quieter people so don’t expect them to be loudly friendly but are good people when you get to know them kinda like Swedes. Sorry you came across some grumpy ones. My fave was their nature and the blue lagoon. We airbnbed and rented a car and made our own tour which all made the trip more affordable cuz it’s for sure expensive as they have to import a lot of things there.
The Golden Circle Tour is basic? It's a fantastic opportunity to see quite a bit in one day and reasonably priced! It can be stressful (and time consuming) to make your own if you don't know where to start. As an anxious person, I'm grateful for travel tours & packages. I want to enjoy my trip! My souvenir is a miniature book of Iceland's breathtaking landscapes, small and pretty! I've taken a liking of buy small books as souvenirs, I bought one from the Uffizi (Italy) museum gift shop. Great way to look back at where I've been 😄 Museums are massive, so it's nice to flip through at home and read what I might not have seen.
Welcome back Samantha! Iceland is actually dubbed as the safest country in the world :) Cops don't even carry guns anymore b/c there is literally zero crime ;) I also got the feeling people were not the most pleasant ... but again I don't blame em ... lack of sun and monotone days will do that to you lol. Sky Lagoon was also a highlight for me ... would pick that over the Blue Lagoon any day! xo
Who could be mean to you? You are so kind! When I was married I went to England to visit my in laws. They live 1 hr S. of London. We went to some pubs lol and the streets were like abandoned. I was like 🤷♀️. Iceland sounds AHHHHMAZZZIG! Thanks for sharing.
My dad was in the Air Force in the ‘50’s. Anyway, he was stationed in Greenland for a full year. And, there was 6 months of light and also 6 months of darkness. I can’t imagine! Fun fact: he and some of the men he was stationed there with made friends with some of the “locals”. And , they were Eskimos. And, they actually lived in Igloos way back then. I don’t think they actually live in Igloos anymore. Iceland looked soooo beautiful! Especially the Blue Lagoon. I can imagine that my general anxiety disorder would have melted away. Loved your vlog and this video, too! ❤
I'm surprised to hear that the Iceland folks were not that friendly. Do you think they aren't crazy about Americans or are they like that to everyone? Seems odd. Loved hearing about your experience there. Interesting that there is no night life there either. I liked seeing the outfits you brought. Loved the look with the black shorts/tights/boots! You looked gorgeous! Keep the videos coming! Travel, makeup, etc...
Haha yeah I use Amex here but when I travel I always need to bring my visa so I always correlate that as my travel card 😅 it’s nice bc they also don’t do a transaction fee for foreign currency
I went to Iceland back in 2018. Next year is going to be solar maximum so if you can go to see the northern lights this season will be the best for the next 12 years! Golden circle is a must! there is also a spa on the way called Fontana that was really nice right before the geysers. In 2026 there is going to be a total eclips near the Blue Lagoon as another reason to go to Iceland too. I want to go back it was so beautiful!
It would have been WAY busier in the Aurora season starting next month for sure. Not sure it's ok to share but I did a video after we got back from Iceland that has golden circle, Reykjavik and Fontana spa. We went in March of 2018 just for reference ua-cam.com/video/ktxPR2r4Rgo/v-deo.htmlsi=y8VCBrsxnVGgsSKs
The water in Iceland is not drinkable it’s some of the best water is natural spring water in the tap! I’d love to go back it’s 25 years since I was there but like you said it’s soo dear it’s like a coffee in Ireland is €4 in Iceland that will be €10 but it’s so beautiful fresh there’s an electric energy to the place! Glad you got to go and had faith you’d get there!!

Ya, other countries don't shoot the shit with strangers as much as America does. You can even notice this in Canada if you try to small talk too much. It is kind of nice in some ways, and less so in others. Though the bartender does sound like he was ready for a break... I know tourism is huge in Iceland, but I am not sure what the general feelings are toward tourists by the natives. I'm sure they are seen as invasive in some ways, esp if they damage any of the natural resources or litter. Sometimes tourists come off as rude/pushy unintentionally just due to cultural differences. A quick google search says to give Icelanders personal space and don't pry into who they are/personal details too fast, but that Icelanders do not appreciate formal titles as they re not used frequently ("Mr/"Mrs."). They generally have a more dry sense of humor & greetings are simple Hae/smile/handshake. Maybe not be too loud at first. But hey, can't win them. 🤔 Also, didn't know you watched Jessica Braun. Nice :)
I've been seeing alot of people going on vaca to Dubai, have it ever been on your bucket list to visit? It looks and sounds so nice and so much to see and do.
Never change! I felt the same way, the people are very proper, if you get what I mean, we Irish are always loud too 😂😂😂😂 but Iceland is a very interesting country. You were in Ireland for the wettest weeks of the year and we have wet 😂😂😂😂
Sam I hope this article helps if you ever go to Iceland again... A college friend of mine is from India lives in the U.S but this man travels the world.. I will send you a link he sent me about nightlife in Iceland.. It does exist ...My friend is my real tour guide when I go places him and his family and friends from India have been everywhere... If you look at a map of the hotel you were at from the bars and city life you were about an hour away... Nonetheless; I am so happy you are just living it up ! your inspiring to us women Sam you really are... guidetoiceland.is/reykjavik-guide/nightlife-in-reykjavik
Sam, I highly recommend looking into getting a solar external battery charger. This way you can always be in a full mode as long as it is in the light. Madison has them and show them once and I was so happy to learn about them in case of outages you well have battery life or if out having fun. #SamSquad Loads of Love

The way you travel and all the clothes you wear. Crazy. I’m so glad you aren’t sick from traveling. My daughter went there as well
I’m so glad that you were able to make it to Iceland. It sounds like a fun time for doing all of those things.🙂
The unpacking videos are so interesting! I think that it helps more than what to pack videos.
I LOVE that collapsible water bottle! What a cool idea for travel!
so nice!
