    I really appreciate how you also bring up areas where accessibility is a little bit lacking (the hill meetups & food options) and even plan on working to make your own meetup next year better for everyone to enjoy. This is a beautiful and fun vlog!

    Your video is very helpful. I am planning to go to Rhinebeck next year. However, I feel quite anxious travelling by myself as there isn't much information online for public transportation. I am thinking of taking the train to Rhinecliff as well. Will there be taxis on standby at Rhinecliff station that will take passengers to the fairgrounds?

    Thanks for such a great podcast. I’m the least techy person but I really appreciate the production quality of this. The pictures , sound and the quality of the filming (so steady no motion sickness for me here ) . It was lovely to see you really enjoying your friends company . I love Brussels sprouts so these look amazing. Your sweater looks super cute on you as it is but if it’s not comfortable I would go ahead and lengthen it. I’m knitting on a sweater now and I wasn’t sure about the length of the body. I thought that it might grow in blocking etc but watching your journey with your alpen glow I took a deep breath cut off my sewn bind off and I’m adding a few extra inches. I asked myself would it bother me if it was too long and as the answer was no I decided to go ahead and adjust it now.

    As much as I love your jumpers, I hate the way they make a roll above the shoulders. I notice you were all constantly pulling it down. This is the problem with yokes. I wish someone would invent a way to stop this happening.

    • @sayshagreene7365
      @sayshagreene7365 Рік тому

      I noticed that too. 🙂

    • @monicalarose7980
      @monicalarose7980 Рік тому

      Hmm my Alpenglow doesnt roll above the shoulders at all (though I also dont notice an issue with any in the video so maybe Im just not seeing or not bothered by the alleged issue 😆.) I feel like as long as circular yokes are sized properly, they fit great. Too much positive ease prior to sleeve divide or dividing for sleeves too late could maybe create that issue a bit? But I think some people were tugging because some were self conscious about the cropped length, not an issue with the yoke. It seemed to me like most fit pretty well.. but again maybe Im just not as bothered by little things like that as some people, to me fabric is always going to fold a bit unless its skin tight and Im fine with that.

    • @hazeldonner1855
      @hazeldonner1855 Рік тому

      @@monicalarose7980 I have to disagree with you. Because there is no shaping around the armholes the yoke hugs the shoulders. So no matter how much ease there is, the moment you raise your arms, you lift the yoke which causes a roll. When you lower your arm the roll stays there, so you have to pull the jumper down wards to make the shoulders fit again. when lifting the arms not only will the shoulders lift but so will the hem of the jumper. If the jumper is a cropped version the hem will expose your midriff. I think yoke jumpers look great when everything is still. Wearing them is a nightmare.

    • @monicalarose7980
      @monicalarose7980 Рік тому

      @@hazeldonner1855 Ah okay, thanks for the explanation! Wearing them doesnt bother me, Ive found that any adjusting Ive had to do has been pretty minimal - but its good that you know your personal preference and that it would bug you too much!

I am such a novice and working up my first sock. The heel not so bad but the gussset, takes some mastering. Planning was essential I see. The dinner looked so good. What a great fine a yarn store and wine bar!!! I will start looking for local groups to maybe join in. Your experience and notes like taking an additional day to look around the town. I think it would ride up all the time as is - I don't know about you, but that would bug the heck out of me, lol!

    I don't think my social anxiety and panic disorder would allow me to go to Rhinebeck. There are just so many people and that is way overwhelming for me. So, with that being said thank you for these videos it makes me feel like I've gone without inducing my anxiety.
    As for your sweater I would be uncomfortable with the length and would add a couple more inches, but that's just me. It does look really cute on you as is though.

      I'm an introvert, so there were times I told my friends, "I'm going to go get some air," and there were lots of options. The benches behind the main building was my favorite; lightly populated, comfortable seating for sit-and-knit time, and the trees were just gorgeous to look at. Crowds were crazy on Saturday so early Sunday might be a better option for you. (By noon Sunday it looked almost as crowded as Saturday.)
