I used to just do the paper towel method. But I’ve been using those water beads in a ziplock and throw the packs in there.
The Boveda pack doesn’t get all soaking wet, and it works great!

I remember advice that I received more than 20 years ago when I made my first online cigar purchase and that was to let the cigars rest in my humidor for at least two weeks after delivery until smoking.
This can take some spontaneity out of the experience but I've noticed over the years that very often my cigars can be at a different humidity level than I'd ordinarily like so it really is worth planning ahead.
For more spontaneous purchases I think it's better to just go to your local B&M.

I do 2-3 months before I smoke anything and it makes a huge difference IMO. Given, you have to keep a constant rotation and stock more even in a separate acrylic/tupperdore but it works.

As much as Acid cigars cost I don't think we have to worry about kids buying them . If I still smoked infused cigars I would have a separate humidor or cigar jar . The aroma at least permeate your premiums if not the flavor . I do separate really strong cigars from milder ones . Great topic , awesome channel and content , thanks 👍👍

@@imnotbenavery9220 A lot of people say flavors don't intermingle but they do . When I first started I had a small humidor and didn't smoke a lot , so I might have a certain cigar for awhile before I smoked it . The guy at the shop I went to told me to remove the cellophane and they would age better . A friend gave me a CAO Moontrance , I unwrapped it and put it away . A month later all my cigars were CAO Moontrance . Cello stays on now and I have 2 humidors , 1 for the mellow cigars and 1 for the full bodied stuff . Don't smoke infused cigars myself but if you do , don't put them with your regular cigars . They will affect your other cigars . Live and learn . Enjoy those stogies 👍👍

I handle the issue of recharging Boveda packs as follows: For the humidor itself, I will always buy a fresh one for the sake of consistency. That being said, I will also keep some old 8g packs on hand that I can easily recharge for travel or if I need an extremely short term solution for the humidification of 1 or 2 cigars.

@MikeG66 "Recharging" is just rehydrating the pack. Soak it in a bit of distilled water for a bit and then let the exterior dry out. You may have to do this twice, but after you do you'll notice that the interior is now holding liquid once again.
