You are currently the best online cigar-pal out there. I very often find myself with a cut and a light while watching your videos. Cheers from the other side of the planet!
Robusto has remained my go to size since I started cigars, good length of time to smoke and can have 2 when have extra time and want 2 different cigars
I’m a truck driver so I’ve usually got 45 minutes to an hour between loads at shippers or receivers so I love the robusto or like the Cain F 550. Just enough to enjoy during my short break while loading or unloading. I don’t smoke in my truck. Great content here. Thanks. - JESSE
The Toro gives me the best time and most flavor for my palette. Although some Robustos also give great flavor with larger ring gauges. I haven't gotten into the "nubs" yet but I've heard those are great with surprisingly long smoke times. It's so awesome the manufacturers and blenders give us options. Great video Tim! Your team does awesome work and I'm always excited to see your passion. Cheers!!
As a newer smoker I enjoy a robusto size drew estate factory smokes (maduro). big cigar smoke and flavor but it actually smokes pretty fast at an hour tops for me.
I got it Tim. Size matters...😏 For me, it's Robustos when it's cold out and I want to finish a stick before I freeze to death but I prefer and buy Toro's most of the time. 😤
@@tijmen131 I will occasionally smoke Short Story's if I can find them and Nasty and Papas Fritas. Those are 30 minute smokes and helps me get my fix when it's too cold out to smoke a bigger stick.
I was smoking Robusto size cigars for the longest time,, but then asked myself why I just don't get the Toro which is longer. So I switched it up to the Toro. I enjoy a little bit longer of a smoke.
Best cigar channel on the good ol UA-cam. Thanks for all the knowledge, my cigar journey is just beginning and you’ve helped guide it since before I even had my first one. Appreciate you.
My first cigar was a toro so that's what I tend to enjoy. My favorite range is 6-6.5 in. and 52-54 ring gauge. Occasionally I'll have a Churchill or Robusto if the mood strikes.
My favorite is a Toro. I’m retired, so I have the time to enjoy a larger cigar. Plus, a larger ring gauge allows the blender to get more complex which makes for a richer flavor.
I have to admit, most of the cigars in my humidor are Churchill or Gordo size. But, like Tim said, the blend plays into this a lot also. There are a lot of cigars that I only enjoy in the Robusto or Toro size due to that particular blend!
I love a 6x52 Toro as well! Especially the Undercrown Shade. If I can find it, I often look for Churchills in a 50 Ring gauge. I like to set aside lots of time to enjoy my sticks; enjoying the flavors as long as possible. Especially at the lounge/bar, I could spent a few hours just puffing and sipping whiskey.
I keep robustos on me for a quick smoke especially when driving or having a cup of coffee. I like to have a Churchill after dinner or when I’m just hanging out somewhere for a while.
Thanks Bro Tim, I am learning from you and sharing your classes on cigars, I love Toro sizes and Churchhill sizes on my on time. Thanks for the information✌
As a new cigar smoker I really like the traditional corona size. It's not to big where I find myself not having enough time or that it is too much to smoke. But also not small so that I can enjoy all of the flavors slowly and recognize the different flavors that other people talk about.
I have to say that I enjoy all sizes because they are not only diferent in time how much time you have or you want to smoke but also it brings you diferent experience during snoking. I found that longer cigars often are more changing its flavour during the seassion like churchills and shorter are more stable in flavour through all cigar like NUB460 which I enjoy very much. But perfectos are completely different story because they change a lot from head to the end so those I also enjoy very much. They are like books where you during the story are looking to how it will ends. I like that you are also thining about this aspect of cigars
I'm a 60+ female who began enjoying premium cigars about 30 years ago with some of my best men friends. I started with Macanudo Portofinos 7x34 and it still is among my favorites. I primarily enjoy Lonsdales, because they fit elegantly in smaller hands.
Corona Gorda, Lonsdale, and Lancero are my go-tos, but there's something about smoking a Churchill or A size when you have nothing but time that really pleases me.
My smoking time is not an every day occurrence so its special for me,sitting on the porch with a cold beer or other adult beverage and my go to is a churchill.
I've been smoking cigars off and on since I was 14 now 31 and I got out for the past couple years and because of your channel you helped me to relearn everything of the cigar world and even swayed me to get some filthy vikings which is now 1 of my top 10 favorite sticks
For about the last 25+ years, I’ve been a fan of between 5-6”, and 50-60 rg. But recently, I had a hankering for a nice, FAT cigar. The owner of the local cigar shop I go to hooked me up with one of his personal blends in a 6.5x70. Not only is it a fantastic blend, but it’s a GREAT smoke. I’m hooked.
Thanks for a great video Tim. I've just recently decided that Corona or Robusto are my favorites. I never really have time for anything larger and feel like I get the most enjoyment of a stick that lasts about an hour or less. Love your videos Tim. I'm a huge fan!
Robusto is the size for me, mostly because it’s the only size I’ve smoked so far. I have a coupe church hills resting, NUB is also one of my favorites. Thanks Tim for all you do!!
My go to is the Drew Estate Java Mint or latte, I also really enjoy a large Camacho Connecticut ( the orange wrapped one). Although I only smoke on special occasions. So I haven't smoked one in a while.
Depends on the time I have to enjoy a good stick. If I'm pressed for time, the corona pequena is perfect. If I had to pick a "go to" size, I'd have to go with a robusto.
Another great content, sir. After some 15 years of smoking i find that size that suit me best are, depending on how much time i have and listed from my fav to least smoked: 1. Gordo 2. Toro/Churchill 3. Robusto aaaand waay down a corona or something smaller for a quick 30min smoke. As a mainly weekend smoker i find Gordos to give me the right amount for "me time" and best taste experience.
Started out with Robusto because, well, it’s popular and I didn’t know any better. But it always ended sooner than I’d like. So my new favorite is the Toro.
@Cigars Daily It depends on what I am doing. How long I have and what I am doing. Robusto is my everyday size. Poker and scotch night I like a Gordo or Churchill.
ok ill take whatever advicei can get,, im 54 and smoked 1-2 packs cigs for 30+ years now im doing/done the switch to cigars as im just tired of cigs,,,, so im very new to somking cigars i find that 5-6 inch around 50 +/- is best 60 is ok but not my 1st pick i find that the light brown in color is better then dark like a Cameroon (i dont know if that mean/says anything) lol,, i received yalls beginner sampler #2 a few days ago and really enjoyed yalls choice picks, lastnight i ordered the 12 stick Oliva sampler with ashtray for my 2nd order glad i did because its gone now lol.... thanks im glade i found your UA-cam channel and web channel see you at tomorrow's show
I most often go for a petit corona (anywhere around 40/42 RG and 5+ inches). I enjoy the smaller RG, flavour wise as well and it provides me with a good hour of smoking, which is enough for me on most times. I'll diversify but usually (a few exceptions) won't go bigger than 52/54 RG.
I love coronas, my favorite size by far. Smaller ring gauge, tighter draw without having to resort to a punch. Asylum 7x70 had me unhinging my jaw like a snake.
When I first started smoking cigars the Toro was my go to size. As I've grown with my cigar smoking, I lean more towards the Lancero or Corona these days
I didn't know I was smoking MachineMade cigar for some thirty-odd years. While watching one of your video 3 years ago. Was when I discovered it. Switched over to handrolled. I'm a product of your video under $10 MSRP. I'm catching great deals on the internet. I believe in watching tons of cigar videos everyday.. keep up the good work. (My favorite size 6x44)
I am a big fan of the Robusto size. Long enough smoke, but not too long. Can finish early enough when I have other things to do and can last long enough to enjoy even when that's all I've got going on!
I first started smoking cigars in 2015 at age 68. I bought Churchills because:”Why pay for a shorter cigars?” As I smoked, I learned that the taste came at “toro” or “robust” length. My go to now at 73 is robusto or toro. As you said, Tim, size matters and ring gauge affect my choices. 😳 Crazy….. good.🎉🥃
I'm a Robusto mainly (5x50) because I feel I can get all the flavors out of it without having to smoke for 90+ minutes. But I also smoke a lot of Toro size too. Again maximize flavor without to much time.
Robusto is my go to. Mainly because of the 5 inch. It just feels good in the hand and the time to smoke and a 50 is perfect for me not to small and not to big
My favorite size is the classic corona (42 RG x 5.5" to 6"). Gives me generally about an hour smoke time which is what I normally have to enjoy one. Second is a smaller petit corona (42 RG x
I noticed this before learning from others that “size matters” lol I learned that I prefer box pressed toros. I feel like there’s more wrapper used to press those sticks into their shape, and as the flavor is mostly in the wrapper, I think that’s the reason box pressed cigars tend to taste better to me. I can smoke the same stick but different sizes and it the both taste almost totally different.
I usually smoke a robusto or a toro... Those are my preferred sizes, and I don't dwell on the minor differences in ring gauge or slightly longer sizes. I just enjoy my favorites and trying new brands and blends on occasion. Great topic for discussion by the way!
For me it's kind of simple, when I am able to smoke it's usually with friends and I'm not low on time. But I don't get to do it often maybe every other weekend. So bigger the better. If I only get one smoke, I'd like it to be a long one, where I can more flavor and more puffs for my time. Typically 6x60 is where I end up landing
For me, 45-55 ring gauge and no longer than 5 inches are perfect. Traditional robusto size drops right in the middle of that range 👍 I'm in the UK FWIW 🇬🇧
I tend to gravitate towards coronas. I usually also like maduros but I tried a Cain Daytona after seeing your review. Ordered one from you and it was amazing! Keep up the good work!
Arturo fuente hemingway work of art is my fav. It’s like a 45 or 50 ring and 4.5 length. It’s ideal if I wanna sit outside working and smokin cuz I can finish it fairly quick and have another or go back in. Otherwise I’m a big fan of the fatter longer cigars anything in the 6-7 in x 50-60 ring gauge sizes.
The Toro is the goldilocks size for me. The macanudo inspirado black is my go to cigar. It's a rich smooth tobacco flavor with a roasted peanut aftertaste. Just awesome. On special occasions, I set aside the extra time for a churchill sized Gurkha.
My first cigar was a Brick House Double Connecticut Toro. Since then, I typically like to smoke the Robusto size and if time allows, I'll go for a Toro. I have yet to try anything smaller or larger than those sizes. I may try a Churchill at some point.
“That extra inch means a lot which guys understand well”
Tim actually said it with a straight face 😂😂
he definitely practiced that line so he wouldnt laugh on video lol
It’s not the length in inches it’s girth that matters more. 🤣

Did no one catch "5 inches are considered 9 inches by many men"?
Soo as he said that I sprinted to the comments and was not disappointed

The Toyota Camry of cigar sizes indeed 👍
Bro my first cigar that I smoked was a Robusto #5.
B/C TIME is my great Un-Equalizer, Robusto is my go to. I can only enJOY a Churchill, Lancero or 2X Corona, once in a great while

I like 6 x60 or 6 x 54. These give me nice long cigar smoke times for me to enjoy on the lake or in front of a fire.
hell yeah! also, those are two great places to enjoy a cigar!
Go for Gordo!
Corona. Perfect smoke time and great wrapper to binder/filler ratio.
Thanks Cigars Daily!

I like Churchill’s for two reasons: 1. It lasts me all morning and 2. Churchill was awesome!
Both valid points. I can't even argue with you. lol
best size ever made
Your enthusiasm always makes me go light one up. Never fails. Great videos. 👍

My most favortie are: Petit Robusto(about 4.5"x50), Corona Gorda (46x6" or so), Perla 4"x40 or so, and Lancero (7"x38 or so)!
I have seen some of these smaller gauges becoming more popular lately. There's some amazing flavor in those thinner cigars.

I like the toro with a straight cut, because of the flavor it's present

Toro (originally called Corona Gorda in Cuba) and Corona sizes fit well for my time and taste.
Double robusto. Just a touch bigger than average. The lady’s notice and are not overwhelmed.
Mostly Churchills but also love the old robolo 5x60. Never hear that vitola named anymore.

Lonsdales coronas lanceros panatelas and robustos . Robustos are the biggest I go.
