I'm a pretty new smoker. I had the good fortune to happen on the Padron 2000 without knowing it's notoriety and it is currently my favorite. I'm graduating law school on May 18 and I specifically bought the 1926 to celebrate!
I’m assuming you are a Metallica fan. Try Blackened M81 by drew estate. Designed by some whiskey dude, drew estate and James Hetfield. I got a five pack and dude….I reach for these in my humidor all the time, but decide no, save it. Soooo good
I strongly believe that Oliva Serie V Melanio deserves mention. Nearly every shape scores 90+
I tried the Flathead 660 because of this video and damn I’m glad I did. It’s an amazing cigar and it hit me just right. Thanks for the review brother!
My first sweet Jane was my holy cigar moment. Walking the dog around the neighborhood with a glass of southern comfort & coke in one hand and a deadwood tobacco co. Sweet Jane in the other. I was in heaven!!
I know nothing about cigars. But I look for that lady every time I’m in the cigar shop because it’s my favorite cigar ever. Now I know it’s the deadwood by drew estates. I love it!!
Ep Carrillo is slept on. Padron, my father are my go to but EPC has slowly taken all my money. Ernesto is a true master blender
Tim is awsome been watching him grow for years. Dude has the greatest job you could ever have. I often envy him and his access’s to great cigars. I live in NC on the other side of the US and these are the type of guys I will give my money and like supporting.
For me the cigar that hit my pallet best was the Camacho Nicaragua Barrel Aged. Nothing hits the spot like sitting back with the barrel aged cigar and a glass of Flor de Cana aged rum. Amazing and so glad I got the last 3 from my local shop.
A friend introduced me to the Padron 64, and it is one of my favorite cigars of all time. On a whim, I grabbed a Ramon Allones, cause I loved a lot of AJ's other blends, and to me it can go toe to toe with the Padron. I can't pick a favorite they are both stellar sticks
Aside from a 10 yr old BHK 52 which was the best cigar I've ever smoked, my absolute favorites are Oliva v Melanio figurado and Monte petit Edmundo. I'd probably pick the oliva over the Monte as my absolute #1 go to. As someone who collected more Cubans than new worlds in the past, I have to say I've come to love new worlds more. Some simply incredible NCs out there....
God of Fire Carlito has been my go to as of late. Fantastic smoke
I have been exploring cigars now for two months. The one cigar I have tried that I fell in love with is Alec Bradley Magic Toast! Which by the way you recommended in your previous videos. Changed the game for me! Great content, keep it coming! I look forward to it.
You should check out his video on Crowned Heads La Imperiosa too if u haven't already, don't regret buying a box of those, pure chocolate
@@sanssin344 I just watched it. That's definitely something I need to pick up and try. Thanks for the recommendation. Going on a hunt to find it.
First cigar I’ve ever tried was a Padron. When I finally learned how to properly smoke a cigar, Padrons are still my go to.
My personal favorites
1) padron ‘64 Maduro
2) Oliva master blend 3
3) Perdomo double aged Maduro
I smoke the Olivia’s as a go too. Padrons for “occasions” Perdomo as a change up.
Tried the Rose of Sharon last week great smoke
Probably be laughed at for this but Oliva is my absolute favorite. Extremely cliche I’m sure but the serie O is just a good laid back smoke. Serie V is delicious and the V Melanio is just as good as I hoped it would be. Love the flavor of the serie O (again I know I’m what most would call basic lol). Cheers! 💨
@@OperationSmoke I have! I actually had one last weekend but find myself preferring the O and V to the Serie G
I have the Padron 1926 10th anniversary torpedo for my wedding. Beautiful.
The cigar that hit for me like nothing else I’d ever smoked is the Dorado from AJ
Don Peppin blue garcia doesnt get the love it needs
Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial is a must-try if you enjoy the Don Pepin blue. Phenomenal smoke.
For several months now, I've been trying to sample a different cigar every week. Most of them have been a pleasant experience, with only two that were disappointing. There are so many good cigars out there and the selection seems endless, which I guess makes this hobby so much fun. So far, my favorite is Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro. Great cigar but the price keeps from smoking it on a regular basis. Keep up the great work Tim!
Funny, I just recently heard in my local brick and mortar. A couple young kids came in asking the lady working where do they keep the Cubans never heard that before but I loved her. Follow up rebuttal ID and we keep them in Cuba lol.
Padrón hits my pallet just right, but not my wallet lol! But for me what also hits my pallet just right, and is significantly easier on my wallet is the Perdomo 20th Anniversary Maduro Churchill. If you haven’t tried it you need to. Fantastic smoke and at a fantastic price. They won’t break the bank. But for me a Churchill size cigar from any brand is always my go to size. To me it’s the perfect size. The blend is always perfect amount of filler, binder, and wrapper, making the perfect balance of flavors, and makes for a nice 1.5 hour to 3 hour smoke depending on how slow I can smoke it without it going out on me lol.
I would agree if the perdomo was a tad smoother and a little less spice. I might try aging some.
perdomo is so famous, they all should know about it, i also like the 20 yr connecticut, lovely too
I felt my holy cigar moment with an Ave Marie Immaculate cigar. I was very taken by how good it was.
I absolutely love the Rocky Patel vintage 2003 Cameroon. Inexpensive and absolutely delicious and enjoyable to smoke.
Just had a diesel whisky row sherry cask maduro... amazingly delicious
Weird but for some reason Tim looks like an animated computer game graphic in this video!!! Great video Tim.....there are some great smokes out there!
Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto i
One of the most consistently damn good cigars out there.
660 was the first maduro that I fell in love with.
Just started looking at cigars daily vid‘s.
And this is a different Tim than I’m used to seeing. I enjoy these videos, and I see a more “discussion - like Tim” in this vid…and I like the “cigar review Tim”but I also like the discussion Tim as well. These are great videos, and I enjoy them.
One of my all time favorite cigars is the CAO Colombia. It is the first cigar I ever had. And my coworker while working overnights at the local Home depot, Who was a very cool Honduran man named Omar bought me a box of them and I have loved them ever since.
I have to go with the Perdomo Habano Burbon Barrel Aged Maduro Gordo. I'm a huge fan of Perdomo Maduro's in general. Also the Alec Bradley Magic Toast is another favorite. I now have to go pick up a Singulare to try!
Love your channel, brother!
Aladino vintage and the normal basic one. Both in lancero. Perfect.
Got a new job and celebrated with a 2005 Estate Sun Grown I have been holding onto for such an occasion. It was incredible!
Just ordered the Singulare based on this video.
There have been a handful of sticks that got me going. Oliva Melanio Robusto, La Galera 80th Anniversary Box-Pressed Belicoso, Fuente Añejo 46, some particularly well-aged La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor, Tabernacle, etc. The one that stunned me was the simple Aladino Corojo Elegante (lancero). 100% old school Corojo grown by the Eroia family in Honduras. At its price point, it can't be beat. When I first tried one at the local shop, I was maybe 1/4" in when I cursed under my breath, put my cigar down, walked into the humidor and grabbed another. Every single one has been just as good. For me, it really stands out for its flavor and consistency, so I would choose it as a daily smoke and pick up one of the others mentioned to spice it up or for a special occasion.
Padron 1926 is the most excellent cigar I've ever had....but if I could have a box of anything, Liga Privada No. 9 in the Flying Pig size is like having a box of gold
Deadwood Sweet Jane is one of my favorites. Do not sleep on those.
I'm smoking a deadwood fat bottom Betty. Had the sweet Jane yesterday and loved them both
My top 3 cigars at the moment are #1 Sin Compromiso No.5, #2 Liga Privada No.9 Robusto, #3 Pardon 1926 40th Anniversary Torpedo. The Sin Compromiso is just out of this world good. If you like coco, dark chocolate, earthy cigars. Love you Tim and guys!
First time I had a sin compromiso I thought it was the best cigar ever, but then it became so hit and miss and really off putting...super inconsistent...the others you mentioned are amazing
My first cigar was a Deadwood Crazy Alice, I really hated it. Looking back it was probably just overly-dry, so i'm excited to give it a second try.
20th anniversary Sungrown from Perdomo. Love that cigar. Just something about it that hits my palate right
Ok, don't laugh me out of the room, but I absolutely love a MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured Fat Molly.
LEATHER ROSE was my 1st Cigar and my favorite is SWEET JANE, I enjoy the cigarillo style of tokin...
The cigar I have enjoyed the most since I have began smoking them is a Rocky Patel Decade 10th anniversary that I happened to pick up out my local shops humidor when I knew nothing about cigars and was just getting a few to try. Been in love with it ever since.
I recently got more into smoking cigars and so far drew estate fat bottom Betty one of my favs
I just started smoking cigar and the cigar that spoke to me and made me wanna start was the Tatiana vanilla cigar
My "WOOOW" CIGAR SO FAR THIS YEAR IS THE H.UPMANN BARBIER!! WE SAW THEM AT TPE AND GOT SOME IN AT THE SHOP A FEW WEEKS AGO!! AND HOLY COW!!! THE FLAVORS THAT CAME OUT OD THAT STICK!
May I suggest the San Cristobal Ovation? A limited edition that starts out mellow and before it's at the halfway point, bursts out with an ambrosia of different flavors. It's a stick that you want to make sure you can take the time, relax, and enjoy. A nice break form the everyday Padron 1926 (snik)
For me the cigar I love that's just a staple, has to be the plansceia reserva original, the blend and consistency, and the fact it's a completey organic cigar, it never fails for me
Flathead 660 is one of my favorite cigars! flavor bomb!!!
Flor de Las Antilles was that transportive smoke for me. I had a religious experience. I took a puff and it tasted so good that I felt a charge of elation rush up my spine. I said, "whoah." Out loud, while looking at the cigar thinking, "what is this thing doing to me?" It was euphoric. Now I use that experience as a marker for judging other blends. A cigar has to give me that spine rush in order for it to score higher than 94😅
Do you remember which one from Flor de las Antillas? The way you describe it makes me want to try it!
I'm pretty sure that it was the belicoso, maybe the toro, both are fantastic. Don Pepin Garcia of My Father fame is the creater and blender. He is truly a wizard with a tobacco leaf. He's one of those masters whose blends are consistent through all vitolas. Another very good smoke from the same factory/farm is Tatuaje's Havana VI.
@@anthonybrakus5280All added to my list! Thank you for sharing these and your thoughts!
I love the flathead 770. 2.5 hr smoke. Excellent stick.
Tim, the Rose of Sharon double perfecto may be one of the most underrated cigars ever!
Love Tim’s video’s like a great meal.
Alway great.🏆
Your list was pretty good, but the "cigar you love" part was great. For me, even though I love a stronger cigar, my favorites for over 20 years have been Fuente and La Aurora (mostly the original or "1903" now) I just really love the flavor of them. And not to give you a big head, but Obrigado made a big impression on me as well (I scored it a 92 after 2 robustos). I really can't afford any of those on a regular basis though, but I love em when I can get some.
My favorite all time cigar that isn’t made any longer was the Felipe Gregorio Fusion 2, but my favorite cigar right now, when I can find it is the Dunbarton Stillwell Star.
Flathead 660 was in the first handful of cigars I ever bought other than gas station stuff, loved it, it really got me into premium cigars and 4 years later I have over 400 cigars
I gave up smoking cigars for lent this year and have been looking for a cigar to be the 1st smoke back, these are good choices which should I choose or what are your recommendations for my 1st smoke?
1st cigar back was the Padron 1926 btw, good smoke w a good burn the entire way through
Thank you all. Great Video!
Just found this site…….love you guys. I started smoking cigars in the 80s and to this day, I probably break all of the “cigar rules” but don’t care. You guys let me know…..that’s ok.

San Cristobal is pretty good all accross the board. Quality and budget friendly. The CAO 554 is a great one as well.
I just returned from James J Fox in London. They assisted me in selecting the Romeo Y Julieta Desda 1875 Habana-Cuba Churchill. It was such a pleasant cigar I had two more before leaving London. My new favorite, and now I can't get them.
Montecristo no 3 (cuban) is one of my most favored cigars of all time. I smoked one for my birthday recently that’s been in my humidor for almost a year. I can’t find any in stock online for over 6 months.
I had a Drew Estate Fat Bottom Betty cigar recently and have to admit it's one of the best cigars I've smoked in a long time. I haven't tried the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon yet; but looking forward to soon. Keep rolling with the excellent videos.
personally I prefer the FBB toro over the Rose of Sharon... but that's just me.
Rose of Sharon is a fav of mine. Bought 2 tried them out then bought a box.
I had issues with the fat bottom. Had to keep re lighting it but flavor and smoke were good. The CI Legends and Tebak Especial are amazing as well
Just ordered a 5 pack of the Illusione Singulare's
Liga Privada #9 a daily smoke for me I loveeee that cigar
Deadwood was my first ever cigar. Loved it
Good selection of great cigars. My "your cigar" is Perdomo 10th Anniversary and Room 101 Miami Snow.
I have really been enjoying the Le Bijou as well as the Epc pledge prequel
I’m only a month in to the hobby and I’ve tried half of what was shown here: flathead 660, MF (several ones), deadwood (all lineup, and was my first go-to), and rose of Sharon.
Haven’t tried Liga 7 (cant find one) but I fell in love with Liga Undercrown maduro. Bought one from a local B&M and immediately got me a box online!! Same with reserve champagne tubo!
That cigar was a Padron Hermoso maduro! Just WAO!
Deadwood is what got me into cigars a few years ago. I had tried cigars now & then throughout the years, and nothing ever stuck. But Deadwood introduced me to what COULD be- flavors other than “tobacco”
Thanks, this was great. Going to try the Singulare!
so damn right, the v melanio it get me started in cigar, that perfecto size v melanio, remember an old chinese man, the cigar lounge owner told me whose a newbie to try the v melanio and a nub, that was few years ago, and man now there is a bigass humidor in my living room filled with different boxes and friends around me all started collecting cigars.
Smoked a deadwood recently and fell in love with it, just like isla de sol.
I’m new to cigars and the Le Bijou 1922 was amazing!
I tried quite a few cigars based off this list. I judge cigars based off how many sips of whatever I’m drinking is needed to cleanse my pallet during the smoke. My Father Le Bijou 1922 was a great smoke, needed very little pallet cleansing, and definitely adding more to my humidor. CAO Flathead V660 was amazing for me. Loved the flavor throughout and is now 1 of my favorites. I could smoke it without taking a sip of my drink. The Southern Draw Rose Of Sharon Robusto for me was just awe full for my pallet. Very bitter and harsh during 1/3 and last 1/3. 2/3 wasn’t bad and palletable. I needed to drink a lot clearing my pallet during the entire smoke. I have 4 left and might give them away to friends. Drew Estate Deadwood Tobacco Leather Rose was interesting, but way too sweet for me. The overall smoke flavor was decent. I needed to take many sips of my drink though really just to take away some sweetness. I’d buy a few more just to have with certain friends that aren’t big cigar smokers. Drew Estate Liga Privada No.9 Corona Doble was a great smoke with great flavor. For the price I have others similar I rather smoke though. Had a Padrone 1926 No. 6 Natural during my Key West vacation and was a nice smoke. Needed little pallet clearing and was an overall great smoke. Decently priced for the quality.
Decided to give southern draw rose of Sharon another chance and yeah I don’t know but it leaves a sourness on my pallet. Not good at all.
The Ando Bull. Was able to buy them before they were cigar of the year. Now down to my last stick
My Father Le Bijou 1922
CAO Flathead V660
Southern Draw Rose of Sharon
Deadwood Leather Rose
Alec Bradley Filthy Hooligan
Liga Privada No. 9
Padron 1926
Illusione Singulare Origin
I've only tried the Liga No. 9 and was blown away. The rest are going on my must try list!
I’m new to cigars but I have spent $600 on about 70 of the most highly recommended cigars. I have to say I only found 4 out of the 20 I have tried so far that I liked.
That’s the way it goes. It’s almost like dating. But nobody’s feelings get hurt. And a cigar will never throw a plate at you from across the room!
Which 4
Interesting! I spent 400 on cigars alone in one week - a month in. The way a look at it… still cheaper than shooting! Which I see is something you appreciate as well 😊
@@Thoccck I prefer Drew Estate almost exclusively. So many good ones. I have other brands that are good as well but they’re not in the same realm of enjoyment as the DE
@@Thoccck I have spent roughly $10k on ammo in the past couple years. Yeah I like to shoot them more than I like to clean them haha
Padron's are elite. But the Leather Rose has been an absolutely incredibly addition to my humidor. I can't stop smoking them. Finally, I picked up a Liga and will smoke it come spring/summer of next year. I hope it meets the hype.
My 2023 cigar was the Jaime Garcia hit my palette like no other
As tastes change I’m finding the Oliva V Melanio’s are my go to high end budget friendly stick. I’m wishing I could find more of the Camacho Imperial Stout and the Tabak Unknown though!
I haven’t smoked a ton of brands of cigars but I have the ones I like, love and hate. But by far the best cigar I’ve ever smoked in my entirety of existence has to be the Partagas Serie D no. 4. I was in Mexico and a lady comes by the different resorts to sell Cubans. So when I heard that I went down to where she was at as fast as I could to get some. The vacation alone had me broke as hell so I was only able to grab one of each that she had. I didn’t know about any of them except that I’ve heard of Monte Cristo and
Cohiba. Never heard of Partagas. If I had known how it tasted before I left the trip I would have took out the credit card bought about 4 boxes knowing I would have had to buy a bigger humidor when I got home.
Atabey/Byron
All subjective and Perdomo’s are so underrated
The 2 that I absolutely love above all else now are the reliable undercrown maduro, and this year the west Tampa tobacco black.
They were completely accurate with their statements on liga privada.
4:20 Pink bands will often have a sharp floral note, right off the first draw and neglect the spicey undertones until the mid to late 3rd. The color scheme could be a marketing gimic to get women involved, but this one has a unique flavor profile because it has a low hanging leather yet woody and pleasant earthy middle followed by an eclectic of almost a carmelized but certainly lavish cacao finish. It's like a strawberry pancake and, dare I say, a hazelnut coffee. obviously, I'm over sensationalizing it, but if someone is having this breakfast with a physical newspaper, try this when you do the crossword puzzle and lmk what you think. It's definitely a morning cigar, but not one you'd take to the lake to go fishing with your son
Funny enough my favorite cigar I've ever had I don't know what it is to this day. I can describe it to a T, size, shape, burn time, flavor, even a symbol on the band. But I don't know what it was and haven't been able to find it again since
The first like OMG moment cigar for me was RoMa Craft Neanderthal, the second was Liga T52, and the latest one and I can’t stop smoking them are the Foundation Tabernacle
Aj new world is a damn good cigar in my opinion had all but three in your holly grail mentions
Great video! 5-7 a day!!!!wow!!!!I’m a newbie so 2-3 a month😅
"What's your favorite cigar?" I agree, it's a question that really can't be answered well. At my go to shop, the guys ask "What do you normally smoke," in order to get an idea of what the customer likes. I think that's a better question to ask a cigar lover.
Oliva G. That one hit me right. I have a few boxes of Davidoff, but Oliva Serie G still gets a lot of my smoke time.
The first stick I fell in love with is the Oliva Series V Melanio. Broke me into the habit of buying more sticks than I need.
Facts 💯
The Oliva Serie V Melanio changed my life. Better than Padron....better than Opus X....
It’s really hard to not want to just have a humidor full of them. Once you’ve been to the mountain top. If lung cancer wasn’t a thing and I hadn’t just had open heart surgery, I’d have at least one stick a day.
@@scotthowell8083 Opus is a lot of hype in my opinion.
Try the Oliva 135th anniversary if you haven't already. Excellent stick.
