Micah: "laziest fish in the reservoir....he refuses to do anything"
* The gar struggling to move after having a an extra pound added to him * 😲
LMFAOOOOOOO
One added pin didn’t going to effect anything
@@colemannino7443 if someone strapped an extra, high centered, pound to your hand you would have trouble using your hand for awhile no?
@Anon Ymous don't be ridiculous, its a fish not a human being
Yall mad lol don't watch fishing videos if you don't like them sensitive plebs
the other fish couldn’t prove it but they all suspected that Gary was wearing a wire
omg bro......lol
Wonderful execution. Well done sir 👏👏👏
Nicely done!🤣
Ha!
Shhhh….
Believe both those fish were attempting to gulp air to increase buoyancy into their swim bladder to counteract weight, but couldn't get enough. Would be good to attach a small bladder to the go-pro to make it closer to neutral. Might get better result.
I noticed he kept surfacing to stick his beak out of the water. I knew it had to be a response to the weight on his back. Thank you for the explanation!
Great observation! I was wondering the same
They were too tired to swim that thing is heavy to them
I concur.
Agreed
Gar: "Don't mind me, I'm just a Google mappin' Gar!"
Nioce
HAHAHA!
😅😆😂
🤣🤣🤣
What an excellent idea! We've got smart phones. Smart TV's and even Smart Cars. We could have Smart-Lakes if they're all mapped out.
Garr story: yea I was abducted by aliens, strapped in a harness probed then released.
Best way to catch gar isnt with hooks, its with a simple raggedy peice of rope - no hooks, their teeth get stuck in the rope and theres no need for a hook, they stay attatched to the rope! The rope just looks like a fish swimming through the water. :) awesome video Micah!
Ace made a video on that
I didn’t know that cool new way I have now thanks
I think that only works with an alligator gar because when they catch their prey they start doing a death roll like an alligator. I'm not sure if the gars in that video are alligator gars though.
@@usuduwj5685 works with other types of gar. It’s the teeth, not the rolling.
Ive caught one in a cast net once in brackish water when i was a kid and snagged a 3footer with a crankbait once too . how long of a piece of rope do you use ??
That fish cam was awesome! Never seen anything like it!
amazing
lol, that would be like you trying to run with a big screen tv strapped to your back
Fish is way bigger than the camera so that's not exactly correct.
Apparently you've never been to a BLM rally..
Worse, because the water creates alot more resistance than air does.
That poor fish was already taxed from being caught.
I would imagine that you figured on strapping that gopro on tighter the second time. This has to restrict blood flow. Less blood flow means less oxygen, less oxygen = rapid exhaustion. You need to try this with a shark or killer whale or something.
😆😂
I like cause he get notification
I really appreciate your videos, man. I know it's not all fun and games. The time you spend editing, finding the right footage, time spent away from the family, and time spent finding just the right spots to provide us, the viewers, with great content. Thank you, bro.
^^^^
Gar1: hey, I want to be in the gang.
Gar2: are you wearing a wire?
I love how the go pro caught the gar swimming away. That was an unintentionally cinematic scene.
I never fished in my life so idk how I came across this but this did not disappoint at all 😭 Thank you for this vid it was so entertaining!!!
The underwater footage was cool. Nice video.
a stream and a video, today just got even better🤧
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟💗💗💓💓💚💚💛💛
I think it mightve been too much weight on the fish, maybe thats why he kept laying down?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Too much weight and too much drag.
Yeah dont hook your fucking camera to living animal
@@tgreve1793 Cry about it, how do you think nature documentaries get a lot of their content?
@@tgreve1793 he didn't hook the camera on it he put a strap and line on the strap
This whole moving down south thing is bringing your channel to a new level! Can already tell
Gar are not invasive and they don’t have a measurable impact on the other fish populations. They are not bad fish, they are prehistoric and have likely been around longer then the game fish we traditionally go after.
Don’t kill them just to kill them. Either eat them or release them.
Love this! Such a chill day of experimenting with making it compulsory to be a substitute camera man for you if you are a Gar and are caught by you. Clearly the gar are ridiculously plentiful there, so I assume they must be like Pikeminnows are to us up here in the Northwest. I LOVE how naturally curious all the different fish were and are of the Camera, too! Seeing all of them congregate and check in with the Gar, and investigating the Camera is epic! Super interesting to see how curious they all are. It also shows how social Gar are, as they don't really school, but anytime there's some excitement, they all join in on it. Thanks for the inspiration to start making my own content, and sharing your awesome experiences with us, Micah!
Great work, glad all the actors got to swim away free.
I was really hoping that there's going to start talking to each other like finding Nemo. LOL
Man I absolutely loved that video!!!!! Amazing underwater footage of the fish. You definitely have to do that again
This video was AWESOME. Great job Micah 👏🏼. I could watch something like this everyday. Different waters, different species. Visibility is always a plus. It’s like watching The Blue Planet. I was unaware that there are clams in Lake Murray, very good to know. 😏🤙🏼
5:50 : Small fish: Men am outta here i ain't dying today,
lol that really had me laughing
I admire that second brim's fighting spirit. Pulling drag, then trying to get out of the boat then finally seeing his opportunity when Micah held him over the water. ✌️🐠 💨
Mad respect for the effort and footage!
I really enjoy your creative ideas and actually doing them!! Keep them coming! God bless you with new inspirations!
This videos going to blow up with views
Would love to see a Gar catch and cook. Gar is delicious. Kinda similar texture to alligator.
You sure that isn't just alligator gar? ;)
@@dylandoesthingssometimes2045 lol, not much difference between long nose Gar which I think he caught, and alligator gar. It all tastes the same and is absolutely delicious especially with Louisiana seasoned fish fry! It kills me people consider them trash fish. It’s some of the whitest fish meat you will find. Theres a million videos on UA-cam to clean them and it’s not difficult.
@@Grits_and_Glamour I have to say that your pallet must be used to eating stringy greasy asphalt because gar is trash. Raccoon food when I catch them.
Catfish and carp does a catch and cook of gator-gar. If done with out getting into the entrails, and keep it cold until you cook, or cook at point of harvest it is good meat. Keep it clean and remove all blood meat. Skin is tough to deal with, get a good pair of extra heavy duty scissors.
I caught a gar in Lake Erie before I knew what they were I called my buddy and sent a picture lol caught on a joe fly
Greetings for Chapin! I’m right up the road man! Hey, check out the Lower Saluda River. (It has massive rainbow and brown trout in it! I can provide more info on that if you’d like! Awesome vid bro!
Killing it with the creativity dude, I like it!
5:55 "That was like the most goober move". Yep, you get no argument here! hahaha
24:16 that fish is like "hey bro... you good? you have something on your back"
LOVED UR LIVE STREAM TODAY TOO
Gar is amazing tasting with some Louisiana Brand seasoned fish fry! Theres a million videos on how easy they are to clean. So I hope in the future you catch some and do a catch and cook. I have never met anyone that liked fish that wasn’t absolutely surprised how good gar tastes! Gar are trash fish is the same mindset as all pit bulls are vicious. In Louisiana where I’m from, if you kill a gar and throw it away like a trash fish, you might find yourself on the wrong end of a 20/0 hook for alligators 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow what an awesome video I just experienced watching the video. Another reason I love your channel and have been watching you and Ace since years ago when Ace made the living in a yacht video🤙
I Heard that he went back to his friends sobbing uncontrollably and to them threw tears this Hugh white thing touched me every where and made me do things ....
Great idea, Micah! It seems like the camera was either weighing them down or they just weren't feeling it, since they seemed to just sit at the bottom. Either way, I enjoyed watching the video, as always! Two awesome lakes (Norman and Wylie) about an hour and a half north of you in the Charlotte area. Would love to see you do a video here!
i think the go pro was weighing it down and maybe restricting the it so it couldnt be as free flowing when swimming. it was a very cool experiment though. a comment i read said maybe adding a bladder or float to the go pro would make it easier for the gar to swim
Dope vid, would love to see this on a trout!
Wow I never new gar hid like that on the bottom, cool! Those were big bass btw. Also the gar come up for air too. So cool
Oh my gawsh! The way the gar swims is SO CUTE!!!!!!
That was some sweet footage! I kind of want to try that with a trout now!😂
My wife says do not get the tooth fixed!!!! She said she wasn’t sure if she could watch you with me if it was fixed. “He would just be like everyone else then.” Her words, not mine!
Dang!......
HEAR! HEAR!
KEEP the gap! 🎃
@@HighAdventureVideos
I’m a huge fan too 😂
It's hilarious that the last Gar dropped and stopped to the bottom like it was at a traffic light to let the other fish go by and then proceeded to go when the other fish passed! 23:40 Loved the video and excellent creativity! Stay safe and tight lines bro! Blessings from your friend in Oregon, Trina
That was one of the most entertaining videos on water I have seen in a long time. You are fortunate to have such a nice body of water to explore on. I just loved this video.
I bet you Peta loves this!!! Hahaha!
🤣
Maybe we can get a PETA sponsor??
@@HighAdventureVideos people eating tasty Animals!!!
Maybe we can put a go pro on a two footer peta .

That OG pancake house mug from the opening scene, Love that place! lol
So interesting to watch the gar interaction with each othr and other fish.. i love warching underwater footage, its fasinating and makes you realize yep those fish are down there i just gotta get better at catching them 😂
For gar, you can wait for them to start feeding on the surface and cast out a small bass popper or jerkbait. Needs small trebles especially on the rear and you can hook up quite often with them. Those small trebles will punch through the beak and usually get a good hold.
Also are you under the impression that braid is better for toothy critters? Mono and Flouro are way better as far as not being cut.
That's what i was thinking. Braid for teefers?! Need a little single strand steel.
dont kill gar unless you plan to eat them. they are not invasive and they have been in the waters long before most of the other fish that are in the waters now. i get that a lot of people consider them a pain in the rear, but they deserve the same respect as bass.
Finally found this comment. Well said
@@daniilgaiday its just my way of thinking.
Thank you! That actually upset me when he said that. There needs to be laws against killing them unless it is for food. That is not ok to do to any native species
There’s some people that bowfish and just kill them for fun smh.. I hate when I go in the morning And see all the dead fish in the rocks
Where I’m from we kill pike there a nuisance, they have boxes around the lake to out their head in ;) if your a softy leave , We cut the gills and put pliers through the head , same style fish there no good
18:50 other fish be like: hey man what's that growing out of your back?! I really think you should have that looked at! Lol
Saving this Video for work. Would love to watch it now but ya know, work n stuff ahhah
I know that aftertaste. It happens when ear wigs get into your coffee maker.
Those may not be water bugs actually did you know cockroaches are so attracted to coffee they like it so much there's actually a certain allowance for cockroach along with a few other bugs that are ground up into the coffee we buy everyday look it up it's literally impossible to eradicate the cockroaches from our coffee so if you drink coffee you drink cockroaches unless you grind your own beans
This is cool. Imagine gro pro on a whale etc.
Would be epic to see him reel the whale in to get the goPro back
Scientific conclusions
1/ Micah : "Gars tend to be lasy shooting underwater movies"
2/ Gar : "i got this go pro camera tied around my chest, so i thought "man, better stand on the underwater ground and not moving much. Good strategy. I ended up being free"
3/ Biologist : "It's always fun to see humans and gar interact"
Another great video btw ;) Truly epic
Your gar cam is a revelation in fishing technology. A couple of thoughts I had. I think that the GoPro camera might be a little heavy for the gar. That might be the reason that they hang out at the bottom so much.
I love your UA-cam channel. You have really unique ideas, a good fisherman, and fun to watch. I think that the move to South Carolina was a great thing. You seem to have more fishing opportunities! Thank you, Micah for your weekly videos.
I appreciate your lack of foul language! Thank you.
To everyone you are beautiful just the way you look! You do not need any abs or to be skinny to be beautiful! You do not need makeup either! You are beautiful just the way you look! Never forget that you are important! You are special! You are valuable! You do have worth and meaning! Jesus loves you! You are important!
Those gar undersold and over delivered on the footage! So did you! Nice idea and fun video 😎👍🏼
well done for executing this. very creative idea!! surprised I've not seen anyone else do it before. happy fishing
Gar aren’t bad, they are a normal part of the ecosystem. Please don’t help spread this idiotic notion that they are somehow bad for gamefish. They have co existed with those species for thousands of years.
1st
are you kidding? That was AWESOME!!!
EVERYTHING, but the kitchen sink in that kayak, HAV Micah.
IF it had a plimsoll line it would be below water level!
I'VE seen it all now. A camera mounted on a fish. I think possibly the camera was too heavy for 'le Garçon poisson,' that's why he kept sinking to the bottom.
VERY entertaining! 📽️🐟
Just got off work to come home and watch a higghhhh adventure video😎
The other fish were like… dude what’s that big thing attached to your back.
I keep rewatching ur videos, plz post more videos regularly. Its an emergency l cant STOPPPP
New one tomorrow!
Well, that was entertaining. Surpassed expectations 😁
Dude you are 🔥, legit bad ass. I can’t wait to see what you do with the crickets!!✌️✌️👆
That was awesome. Got some good footage. Was fun to watch. Great video
Love that fish cam crazy😵💫
super cool video dude... that one Gar looked at your camera Gar like it was a sellout, lol.
Nothing like a hiiiiiiiiiiiigh Turkey adventure
Excellent video friend.
Good job on the persistence.
Really liked the bonus footage of the "catfish" in action dragging it's whiskers on the floor at the 26.00
Always heard they do that but never actually seen it.
Cheers from Brownsville,Texas.✌👌
Amazing video as always. Keep up the great videos.
Happy I was there for the live video and ready for this one
New to the channel. Love the vids. Knew you were in SC but now I see you’re a fellow Lex area local! Nice! Love that lake and the gar put up a fun fight
Dang you have a cricket dealer lmao 😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
There is something more going on here than just burnt coffee.
Here comes Gary again doing his vlogs.
Wow. That really and truly is epic footage! I really enjoyed this!
This was super cool to watch, awesome vid man
That was a fun fun video. I think next time you should try to strap a GoPro on a catfish.
BEST your video its with your kids, i love this part of video, all best my friend, much love from Macedonia
this is a very cool idea
gar are a totally unique family of fhish completely, from an evolutionary stance on another level from other fish. they are in a whole other, more ancestral order from other ray finned fish which diverged from the vast majority of other fish like 240 mya
It was hunting stocking other fish just wasn't that hungry i guess 😂 😂
HAHATHEPOOR FISH CANT HARDLY SWIN WITH THATGO PRO ON ITS BACK!!
Definitely do that again and again
Just amazing footage
I don't know how heavy the Gopro is, especially under water. Maybe adding a piece of floatation to give it a slightly positive buoyancy would help?? Just a thought.
Another hiigh adventure video!
Very nice man 👍
Had me laughing when he said I have beaten him over the head with a rock 😂
The other fish, passing by :
-You freak !!!
Best underwater footage i ever seen
That was awesome!!
Love the underwater fish footage
This is such a great video. Great job!
Love your personality! Great video! 😘
That was crazy!! 🤙
Just giving you a tip on gar, use white rope freyed out some without a hook, the rope will get wrapped up in their teeth. Then no gar will be gut hooked and you can do it without harming the gar, unless you plan to eat the gar.
Not me trying to hunt for arrowheads at the bottom of the lake as the fish swam! 😁
