I laughed very hard when your scrolling message spelled “Sarcophagus?” and then a moment later you were inside that contraption! Thank you George!! I needed the laugh!❤
That grey Wedge Wood china set was lovely. I would probably buy that one and use that for the holidays. lol It is too pretty to actually use though. But gorgeous yes it is. You have a great day and safe travels
Yes, we call the back the section “the new section” but it’s been there 8 years. I suggested maybe we could come up with a new way to reference this section but it wasn’t met with much enthusiasm.
When my father in law made grand pareurers for Van Clef and Arpels, they were platinum and they came with platinum screwdrivers that you used to put pieces together and take them apart to make different pieces. I saw some with him once - incredible stuff. Love the letter slot. I miss porch delivery. Had it until 6 weeks ago. If it rains, we leave the mail until the next day!
Hi George, I started my Etsy vintage shop last year and I been enjoying watching all your videos and learning more and more about vintage and antique items. Thank you for making those awesome videos.
What a great video, the personal sauna😂😂😂. I love it when you show jewelry. I am STILL making my way through the living estate of the lady with dementia. Lots of fabulous jewelry, Miriam Haskell, etc. I'm thrilled to let it pass through my hands!
Thank you for Sharing. I so enjoy when you share your knowledge of so many subjects. I always learn something to file away. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Thank you for showing and talking about the pink triangle and the history and yes they are (hells angles that is ! I remember growing up they had a big bar hangout in my city )
@@janetpogue4970 the hells angles here were know for keeping the bars in order at one point we had the most bars and pubs per capita and they were always breaking up bar fights and arguments oddly enough
I've heard stories like that too@@mattaaronwalker88 I think maybe since they knew the underbelly of the city they knew how to keep it in check somehow. However, I watched them torch a gas station right after we left it when we were moving out of California in 1975
I have around 25 Enid Collins purses. I use them in the summer. You're right, they are getting much harder to find. I keep looking for my zodiac sign, but haven't found it yet. Saw lots of great treasures in your video. Thanks for sharing!
Good evening, George. Those Royal Nippon vases were fantastic. Was the _Stork and Rushes_ made by L. G. Wright? That is a Dugan pattern. That Laelio glase has a fantastic look. I'd never seen any of it. That was a really nice scale, but it was so over-restored it looked almost plastic. I like the original finishes. I used to put together the plastic model kits, and there were some I wish I still had. That mall would take a couple days to fully explore. Thanks for taking us along!
Hello my friend! I thought they were particularly good too. Stork and Rushes was a classic Dugan pattern! The scale was too good to be true, I find over-restoration annoying personally in the same way that repainting or refinishing old furniture can be a mixed bag. I keep finding older balsa wood models lately, I never even attempted one of those! That mall DID take a few days to explore, I'll show more later and will still have to go back!
@@TheAntiqueNomad It surprised me when you said the _Stork and Rushes_ pitcher was an L.G. Wright piece. I know they, along with other glassmakers, acquired a lot of the original makers' molds, so I knew it was possible, but I've never seen a reproduction of that pattern, that I knew to be a reproduction. When it comes to refinishing an antique, I'm, for the most part, of the "leave it alone" approach, especially on a metal piece. That scale was so over-restored it bordered on being a ruin. I can understand, in some cases, furniture having to have some work, but restoring is better than refinishing, if at all possible. At one time...when I was much younger...I had model kits such as Jonathon Frid/"Barnabas Collins" and David Selby/"Wolfman", from the _Dark Shadows_ show. I wish I still had those, among several others. I tended to like the monster, ships and aeroplane model kits best. The automobile kits I liked were like the Bugatti Royale, a 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost and a 1931 Duesenberg...I had those, too.
George, @ 18:10 on the table is a ceramic piece with 3 cherubs, I have one that is yellow, I have a married bowl on the top of mine, can you tell me anything about it?
05:46 Czech jewelry without a doubt. I'd have bagged that too for $29. 16:29 I wouldn't have bought the necklace. The nylon string is "wavy", meaning the clear filament has shrunk with age and it'll break if you look at it cross-eyed. Japanese necklace? I'd pay $5 if I wanted the beads, but nothing above that. 16:56 That pattern in the metal is never real gold in my experience. 24:30 It's not easy being green! Sun damage. I bet they used a photographic process, and color prints can discolor.
Lots to learn tonight. The original meaning in WWII concentration camps use of the triangle to label peo suspected to be gay is surprising to me. I am definitely going to share how the contemporary gay community set that literally on it head.
I tried to remember when I was 1st aware of The Violet Triangle. I was a teen in the late 60s and don't have a memory of that. Then Reagan came and shut everything down in the 80's. Do u think the emblem, if I can refer to it in that way, started to be used in mid 70's. I feel as though the = equal and then the rainbow were a later symbols of pride. Or Were the three symbols in place at the same time ?
I just read about when people where freed from the concentration camps that gay prisoners where not allowed to leave as homosexuality was classed as criminal act. This is so sad that they where treated this way.
It's funny that you state, " Back in the era of discrimination. " When daily, we discriminate. At least that is my take. It must be difficult to be politically correct when trolling antiques..
Unfortunately, the laws have proven to be wholey inadequate to protect people discriminated against. Including but not limited to, women, peo w mental illness, peo not of the ethnic or religious majority, the incarcerated, the homeless, people with physical or cognitive differences and disabilities, immigrants , the elderly .................. ......
i have never heard someone who knows so much about EVERYTHING antique and vintage
I''m not alone, but I'm willing to share all I know!

Lol that works though! Our mall got some pretty convoluted floor names as we spread through an old armory building.
I lived down the street from Rockwood

Nice seeing such a wide variety of interesting pieces available hee.🖤🇨🇦
Green Dog equals faded magenta.
Makes sense, given how color breaks down into components
What a fun time, thanks for the educational tour!
Thank you for showing and talking about the pink triangle and the history and yes they are (hells angles that is ! I remember growing up they had a big bar hangout in my city )
In the Cinti area it was the Iron Horsemen that you had to stay clear of. Nasty guys !!

What is a fair price for the girl hangar in good shape that the mink was on?
I'd say $50 or so

The shrunken filaments are problematic, but it laid well surprisingly on the card so I was fortunate. The Czech piece was an amazing deal though!
05:46 Czech red glass necklace...😍🙋🏻♀️ i want that...Beautiful piece 👍🏻
Test test am i there yet
😂 😂
That's what me and my wife call a Beach Boys store. Fun Fun Fun till the Mrs. takes my visa away.

It was an interesting development during the protests to get AIDS funding

In Ohio, thousands of voters have been taken off voting registry. So, many laws and so many disregarded 😢
I didn't specity de jure or de facto discrimination, I was thinking of a time where there were not even judicial or legislative means to seek a remedy
