At Last! Well done Maggie - can't wait till launch. Sina Drums - summer salsa Ft Celi - You've invited the "Army" next is to invite the Sina "hoard" - you will get your birthday present!
Do you know Amira Willinghage? I guess, she is known in the, at least European, opera scene. She sung "O Mio Bambino Caro" in the age of 9 (I believe) without being professional trained (only by herself) and won "Hollands Got Talent" several years ago. I was blown away by this tiny little girl back then, maybe you will be too. Now she sings on big stages with stars like Bocelli. You will find the video on YT easely, you are smart😉.
I'd love to hear some more Nightwish. My personal recommendations to push some less often reacted songs instead of the "standard" ones (Greatest Show on Earth, Poet and the Pendulum, Song of Myself, Ghost River): - Bless the Child (from the same concert, Wacken 2013) - Sleeping Sun (at Tampere 2015) - Stargazers (at Tampere 2015) If you want a more "typical Nightwish sound" song I recommend those as your next listen: - I want my tears back (live at Buenos Aires 2019) - Storytime (live at Wacken 2013) Nightwish have so many great qualities and can do so many different things, it's hard to capture it with only one song. And a lot of your new viewers would probably love it, if you listen to many more Nightwish songs. Not to mention the whole Beste Zangers thing, where Floor proofed that she can do anything.
From many Floor fans you will get recommendations where she shows off her power, control and vocal styles and there is nothing wrong with that, she's amazing. But her real strength is bringing out the emotion in a song and she can do that very softly too, without overdoing it like so many other singers. Try her rendition of Lady Gagas "Shallow" from the show Beste Zangers, it's mind blowing.
Speaking of bringing out emotions, I always think about "Dead Boy's Poem" live Buenos Aires 2018 or for example "Poet and the Pendulum" Wembly 2015... and so on.
Like, a LOT. The end of that song has me crying like a bathtub of onions every goddamn time. Even more if you take a hot minute to research the story of Shoemaker beforehand. Tuomas is a goddamn Mozart for writing that piece alone.
Maggie - Once this goes live the Nightwish Army will soon follow... They will give you a run down on the band and song suggestions... one of my favorite recent songs Floor has done solo is Phantom of the opera with Hank Poort on a Dutch tv show Beste Zangers... enjoy your journey!!
i suggest you do both the 2005 with Marko and Tarja as well the beste zangers one with Floor and Henk: the 2005 one will give you a chance to seetheir first vocalist who was more operatic in her approach but i think, you could say she couldnt shut off the operatic approach and vibrato and also you ll have a chance to appreciate the vocal capabilities of Marko the bassist of the band who was lead singer in band Tarot and in Nightwish often does a lot of duets with Floor, onthe other side Henk Port was the original Phantom in the dutch productions for years and according to an old interview by A. L. W. his favorite phantom) and Floor sings it less operatic and more contemporary style with clearer vocals and still great technic ( and Henk who had sung earlier in that show Sound of Silence the Disturbed version, adds a bit of rasp in his phantom on a part.)
It's great too and absolutely recomandable but you should also hear the version with their first singer Tarja from "the end of an era" concert. It's the best Phantom of the opera cover of all time in my opinion.
versatile vocalist, Jansen can sing from ethereal, classical and operatic singing, to powerful belting, and aggressive, raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. She is a soprano. Jansen started studying music at the Dutch Rock Academy in 1999, entering the Conservatorium Tilburg three years later. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. Later, she started teaching .. She's a musical chameleon , love her tone .
The drummer is so often overlooked on this song, and his performance is so epic, just as much as Floor, IMO. It's appreciated to see someone recognize that. Coupled with your excellent commentary, you have a new subscriber. Keep up the quality videos, Maggie!
The magic of Nightwish is that everyone is great and complement each other, the keyboard, the drums, the vocals, the guitar... the rest too...and they have amazing lyrics and composition as well.
@@maggiereneemusic One of my biggest turn offs is when someone who has the pipes, is a music snob. You are absolutely not one of them. lol, subscribed. Music is a wonderful thing in all its forms! If you want to view more from the Nightwish side of floor, any of the songs from this same waken 2013 though, like someone said, Greatest show on earth is another "score" type piece that is engaging as well. Keep being you :) you are awesome.
Gotta say, I’ve watched a ton of reactions to this song, and yours is one I’ve enjoyed the most. Love your personality, love that you identify and comment on the techniques used as well as the music and performance. I hope you continue on this journey into the Nightwish rabbit hole, I think you’re really going to enjoy what you find, and you’ll see how brilliant this band is as a whole. Yes, Floor shines specifically in this song but it’s really only the tip of a very large iceberg. There’s two other singers in the band alongside Floor who both shine in their own unique ways and the composer, the keyboardist Tuomas, is easily one of the best composers of the modern era. The band is at their peak ascendancy right now with their latest album and I feel so very fortunate to be witnessing these moments in music history first hand as they happen. Keep up the good work, and rock on! 🤘
So good to see some love for the guitar solo before the intermission. As a bassist, I always love seeing guitar players that actually play with taste. Doesn't happen a whole lot, but it does here. Perfect solo to serve the song, not his ego. Love it so much!
Thank you for your comment! If you enjoy metal, I just posted a new Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) reaction to be Premiered in less than 1 hour! Hope you can join us? 😁
Maggie, Just make sure to specify in the search about 'With Floor Jansen'. There is at least one other version that is Epica without Floor as a guest singer. Epica is GREAT by themselves too (very aptly named), but if you are looking specifically for Floor, just saying. :)
@@maggiereneemusic Doing this, you should react to Epica with Floor singing "Stabat Mater Dolorosa". Classic Music in front of a location full with metalheads. Impressive piece of music with complete silence from the audience.
GLS is the most reacted to song, in the history of music reaction videos. A bit ahead of Jinjer-Pisces. As Nightwish is the most reacted to artist or band in the history of music reactions videos. FYI:There were 82,000+ in the audience. It is the 13th of 15 songs that NW performed that night. I would recommend either 'Ever Dream' or 'Storytime' from the same concert for your next Nightwish reaction. Floor is the 3rd and still current female lead singer of Nightwish She had been with the band for little over 10 months at the time of this concert on 03 August 2013, when she was 32. She started performing in her first Metal Band, After-Forever at the age of 16. After that band disbanded, she started her own band called Revamp. Which was on hiatus, when she received a call from Nightwish to take over the female lead singing duties mid-tour. The rest is herstory.
To learn the full story of that chaotic and traumatic mid-tour change of lead vocalist, I strongly recommend watching "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours". It can be found here on UA-cam. The only thing I'd add to that is that Floor got the call during her sister's wedding in the Netherlands, and flew out to meet with Nightwish at Salt Lake City. I suppose that may have technically given her an extra 8 hours, due to time differences! At the time of this performance, Floor was still only the stand-in replacement to allow the tour to be completed. She (and Troy Donockley) only became official members of Nightwish shortly after the completion of the tour, which was two performances after this one. I think it is fair to say that by this stage (badoom, tish!), she had become indispensable, and not many could imagine Nightwish without her. Tuomas has stated that there will not be another change of lead vocalist for Nightwish, so Floor will hold that role for as long as she and Nightwish continue. BTW, the orchestra and chorus are the London Philharmonic, to a score by Tuomas. Sadly, touring to a rock tour schedule with full orchestra and chorus is not financially viable or practical, so those parts are recorded, but they are all composed by Tuomas, who writes 95% of all Nightwish material.
@@maggiereneemusic If you ever decide to do Poet and the Pendulum please research the backstory first. Its a song in several parts about a very sad part of the writer/composers life, a very personal song to him. Phantom of the Opera is a cover. Both showcase the bassist heavily, and a critique of him would be welcome.
This performance is incredible. Wish I was there. I also like that everyone is smiling, rocking, dancing and crowdsurfing, but nobody is fighting, shoving or grabbing people...There's just no animosity, you know? 0 negativity.
Your first taste of Nightwish...you will never be the same again 🤘🖤❤️🎸 Floor is a Valkyrie...Floor is AMAZING...Keep listening and reacting to more Nightwish...her versatility will amaze you for realz...
Thank you for your comment! If you enjoy metal, I just posted a new Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) reaction to be Premiered in less than 1 hour! Hope you can join us? 😁
I'm always surprised that rarely a coach comments on the complex time signatures at the beginning and the end on this song. It's what got me immediately when I heard this the first time. Still a really great reaction. Thanks a lot!
It might also be a matter of what you're used listening to. If one's into for instance jazz or prog rock/metal, what would be considered complex/unusual time signatures in more mainstream music wouldn't be all that unusual at all. Same goes for many forms of traditional/folk music, for that matter. Professional musicians, vocal coaches and so forth might be more familiar with such arrangements than the average (in particular Western) listener. As a teen, me and my band mates took a stab at some more proggy approaches in our songs, which left the audience bewildered. Not because the arrangements were overly complex, but simply because most people aren't used to it. We took the confused looks as a compliment, though 😎
It’s just amazing to watch her change her style every every bit. And at the end when she presents her drummer and band, she’s showing them respect. What a class act and what a wonderful talent.
Floor is the third singer, in the Nightwish lineup. If you want more operatic vocals, watch their earlier videos, with their original singer, Tarja Turunen. Amazing!
Just imagine doing a whole concert with all the styles, 90 degree heat, 80,000 people, pyrotechnics. etc. This concert is a masterpiece, a real symphonic metal journey. See a another masterpiece, Tera Sancta. Rock on and stay heavy!!
If you're interested in Floor, you should see "The Greatest Show on Earth" Live by Nightwish. This will give you a nice example of what kind of magic Floor can do with her voice.
Just be prepared Maggie. The Greatest Show on Earth is 20 minutes long and is 5 acts. Make sure you react to the live at Tampere Version. It's more epic.
Next "Storytime" "Ever Dream" "Romanticide" "Last Ride Of the Day" Wacken 2013 !! Live then "Poet and the Pendulum"!! Wembley..live "Greates Show on Earth" !! Tampere Finland 2015 Beste Zangers "Phantom of the Opera",, "SHALLOW"(Gaga) ;;"Vilja Lied",,2019 Then Hela albumet "Human I::I Nature 2020 .."How's The Heart" Acoustic, All this 4 Starters "!! FLOOR JANSEN Metal Goddest and Valkyrie Best and most variable female singer today !!.. Stay safe.
"The Greatest Show on Earth" by Nightwish should be your next piece. It's got everything that "Ghost love score" contains times ten. It actually is what the song title says. The composer is on the same level as Wagner or Sibelius. When you react to The greatest show - can you spot the two bars "borrowed" from Bachs Toccata and fugue in D minor? Your videos make me happy and harmonic. Thank you!
@@Idefixu I agree, it's a fantastic show and audience at Tampere. Finland has Nightwish, Faeröyar has TYR, Norway has Dimmu Borgir and Sweden has Sabaton. The Nordic countries delivers the best Metal in all its variants. If Maggie reacts to these it will be an instant success.
83k in crowd. Backing track is by London Symphony as well as the choir. Tuomas the keyboardist writes all the music. Congrats you have just experienced a Floorgasm! Welcome to the party. Storytime from this concert.
It's not the London Symphony. For some reason, nonsense like Holopainen = New Mozart, Jansen = Best female singer in the world, and Once = London Symphony Orchestra perpetuates itself in UA-cam's comment section.
Floor does a cover of a Heart song - Alone. Have you watched it ?? Once again this girl shows just how good of a singer she is. Hey there Maggie, rock may be new to you. Your expertise is appreciated never the less... I just love the last portion of this song. Floor is one air gifted singers that just opens her mouth and this wonderful sound comes out.

loved the reaction, tnx. floor is a vocal coach too, classically trained. i love how she can pick from her toolbox whatever is necessary for the song...

🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 What a performance, always a great video to watch! And what a personality to watch react to one of the "Great Bands" in existence. Now you need to get to the Greatest Show On Earth by Nightwish with floor ;) . I won't spoil it other than to say you will want a drink or two and some snacks ;) .
You will probably like Epicas Sancta Terra live. Floor is a guest singer on their stage and it will also introduce you to another Symphonic Metal powerhouse Simone Simons.
The drummer is Jukka, he left shortly after. He suffered insomnia horribly when on tour. Floor had replaced the prior to this concert and had to learn the 20+ songs but she showed she could do it. I would suggest Floor singing Phantom of the Opera with Jenkins Poort. It was on her bucket list since childhood. The chemistry is off the chart.
Cool reaction! As you like her singing, try some of her songs from the Dutch show 'Beste Zangers', like 'Vilja-Lied', 'Mama', 'Que se siente' and (of course) 'Phantom of the opera' :)
That was a great reaction! I wish you could react to "Nightwish - Phantom of The Opera (feat. Tarja)" because it more likely has operatic parts and also Tarja has a good operatic voice too.
First Age Nightwish - with Tarja Turunen - should be closer to your heart! Phantom of the Opera, or especially my favourite cover by Nightwish, Over The Hills and Far Away!
What a reaction, thank you! I wondered what I could say next to all these beautiful comments here, so I'll say something different. The first metal riff that has ever been written goes back to Gustav Holst's "Mars - The Bringer of War". Geezer Butler played it on his bass, Tomi Iommi (both Black Sabbath) came in, listened to it and the rest is history of the song "Black Sabbath". This is why classic music is not very hard to be found in Heavy Metal. It is one of its roots.
B e a U tiful Video. :D more nightwish PLZ. Like "greatest Show in earth" "Poet n the pendulum" for Poet you should Check Out the Bands History First that one IS quiet heavy Lyrics wise. Also once you are more familiar With nightwish, pleased do "Phantom of the Opera" With Floor Jansen n Henk poort from the beste zangers Show. Well all of floors Songs from that Show.
@@maggiereneemusic Actually! Before checking out Phantom of the Opera with Floor, you should check out Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera with their original singer, Tarja Turunen. Only then will you see where Floor's and Hank's interpretation comes from.
Floor is a well trained vocalist - Years of formal training and years of informal practice - a voice nerd as she puts it. You gain props in my view because you correctly identified everything she did - But being formally trained yourself, you are on the same road. I wish you the best in your future adventures, may they be as bright as Floor's! To see Floor early in her career, check out After Forever - She, like you, began singing at a young age. She was the front singer for After Forever for a long time - A decade or so. That is where she met Nightwish - Long story I wont bother with here... Just know that they toured together and eventually they asked her to become the front - and now we see the result. Brilliant! Know she has a formal degree from the rock academy in the Netherlands, and also studied a year of opera.
I love it when two completely different genres of music come together, makes something incredibly epic! I’ve seen her do Phantom of the Opera and it’s awesome! Great reaction! It’s cool seeing your past performances and upbringing experiences and hearing the growth in your voice! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Welcome Maggie to my home country, home country of Nightwish. I was on the world gig premiere of this song with the first Nightwish vocalist Tarja Turunen. Never recovered from that, Floor is a bit different, but glorious as well. If wanting to hear Tarja take Wishmaster or Siren from the End of Era concert - of her Ghost Love Score - she does it operatically. Great that having fun in the Nightwish scape.
Paused at the 0:03 mark and I'm already happy that you reacted to Nightwish... I love Symphonic Metal, bands like Luca Turilli, Kamelot, Avantasia... ah! I love it!
Just a heads up, Floor is a self described “vocal technique nerd”. She has a really big toy box of stuff, but only breaks out what is necessary to communicate the meaning and emotion of a work. Tuomas the keyboard player is the composer, down to the backing tracks, vocal lines, guitar and bass work. Most of the material you will be watching was composed for the other two singers which Floor made her own. The only material Tuomas composed with her voice in mind would be the last two, Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human Nature.
All songs from the same show... Wacken 2013... And if you go for Poet and the Pendulum or Greastest Show on Earth, please read about it before... Nice options too are Shoemaker (new song with a really operatic part) or How's the heart acoustic version on Planet Rock, just she, Troy and a guitar... All this ones are flawless... Great reaction...
Great reaction! May I suggest following up with "Storytime", "Ever Dream" or "Romanticide" from the same concert? p.s. oh, yea... like others mentioned: anything with Floor Jansen from the show "Beste Sangers" is awesome as well.
WAIT! You have an amazing voice as is apparent when you can perfectly pitch to others. Why have we not heard you yet? A great reaction as always. Thank you.
People always recommend this song but the Original song with Tarja Turunen would fit you more. Tarja is truly operatic with a very dark and powerful voice.
Floor is amazing definetely, no doubt of that, But it would be great is you could react to Nightwish with their first singer Tarja Turunen, as she is a professional soprano. She's amazing, too!
Nice!!! To have you reacting here. Thank you for bringing your cheery songbird self here living your best life with us :) Welcome to react more - Nightwish a large variety of quite different songs. Only about, and with the newest album out March this year, about 120 songs to react, since 1996. They are not all available as concert songs, and a few concerts have bad sound quality (if it's just a fan with the phone). HD hasn't captured them all. But this Wacken (2013), Tampere (-15), Wembley (-15) and Buenos Aires (-18) concerts have good sounds - oh, and Hartwall Areena (2005) - for their first singer. There was one singer in between, then the best recordings are usually the official videos. Meadows of Heaven is good from her at a concert.
Let's not forget to mention the musicians in the band, world class! The composition, I believe written by the keyboard player, and of course Floor. If you ever see her off stage in an interview, she is intelligent, personable, down to earth and could light up a room with her smile. Born to perform!
Great analysis! Floor with Hank is her latest from Phantom. Beyond amazing! That would be my suggestion for the next Floor. And loved your earlier Rock and Jazz snipits. Speaking of jazz. For all you jazz and Billie Holiday fans. The best cover ever of Billie Holiday’s “ Gloomy Sunday was performed after dark by a lady who goes by the name “Eivor” Please UA-cam “Eivor & Ginman Gloomy Sunday”. I’ve been watching it once a week for over a year. Haunting, celestial, other worldly rendition. Always brings me to tears. All love in isolation, Al
That was a great reaction. Nightwish is a journey and their sound is evolved and it fits around the singer as well. Their newer stuff is built around Floor’s more versatile voice. The first half of their career was built around a soprano (Tarja). You can tell from Tarja’s version of Ghost Love Score and songs like Wishmaster and The Siren. Look forward to more.
thank you for reaction, i hope you will check more Nightwish songs. Also Floor have nice collaboration with friends Epica - "Sancta terra" and "Stabat mater dolorosa"
Floor is classically trained and also a vocal coach. Glad you loved this. She is probably my favorite female singer right now. Just like any genre there are different sounding Symphonic Metal. Never apologize for being weird ;)
In all of the reaction videos I've watched of vocally trained singers or teachers, they've all given their viewpoint on how she's singing and what she's doing to create it, and I've already gained some insight from your video despite watching a dozen or so reactions beforehand (as you can tell, this is my favourite song :D) great video.
Thank you for your comment! If you enjoy metal, I just posted a new Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) reaction to be Premiered in less than 1 hour! Hope you can join us? 😁
Now you seen Floor in Opera an pop voice. Now time to go to the other extreme. "Yours is a Empty Hope" by Nightwish live at Wembley. Pay attention to the chorus. Floor has a surprise for you there. Love the voice. Love the reaction. Something to think about also. This is the 13 th out of 15 songs that night. An not a missed note for 2 hours.
you could watch Floor Jansen on "the bestezangers" she does a cover of shallow on that and phantom of the opera with Henk Poort. i saw it on youtube. it is a show from europe that has a group of singers that perform songs. if you have not watched it is very good. lots of good songs and some are in other languages.
Floor is their third singer. Please react also to their first singer Tarja. She was a fully clasical singer and gave the band a unique mysterious touch with her voice. I'd like to see you reacting also to her, specially because you're also from this music genre. I recommend you the following songs from "the end of an era"- concert -The phantom of the opera -Slaying the dreamer -The siren -Dark chest of wonders You'll be as amazed as by Floor. I promise. Great reaction BTW. 😁❤
thank you for seeing and doing my recommendation!!! love all your reaction videos and breakdowns, no matter what artist/genre/style etc. you react to. keep up the awesome work! looking forward for more!

That was awesome... Please react to The poet and the pendulum (live with Lyrics on) or The greatest show on earth (live) by Nightwish... Eventually would love to hear your reactions on some of their most recent (and more technical stuff), especially Shoemaker.
as a lover of all music, primarily metal/rock, i do appreciate when others listen and hear the music i love most. and thats how i used to sound out beautiful when i was a kid having to spell it out lol

At Last! Well done Maggie - can't wait till launch. Sina Drums - summer salsa Ft Celi - You've invited the "Army" next is to invite the Sina "hoard" - you will get your birthday present!
If you want to react to a great Blues singer: Beth Hart - Am I The One (Live At Paradiso) : )
My personal recommendations to push some less often reacted songs instead of the "standard" ones (Greatest Show on Earth, Poet and the Pendulum, Song of Myself, Ghost River):
- Bless the Child (from the same concert, Wacken 2013)
- Sleeping Sun (at Tampere 2015)
- Stargazers (at Tampere 2015)
If you want a more "typical Nightwish sound" song I recommend those as your next listen:
- I want my tears back (live at Buenos Aires 2019)
- Storytime (live at Wacken 2013)
Nightwish have so many great qualities and can do so many different things, it's hard to capture it with only one song. And a lot of your new viewers would probably love it, if you listen to many more Nightwish songs.
Not to mention the whole Beste Zangers thing, where Floor proofed that she can do anything.
You might like Floor Jansen singing VILJA LIED in German or singing with Henk Poort Phantom of the Opera.
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
These were from the Beste Zangers television show. Also, Que Se Seinte and Shallow are remarkable. I think she out Gaga’ed Lady Gaga in that song.
@@maggiereneemusic She also sang Puccini - O mio babino Caro. Also check out her performamce of Phantom of the opera with Henk Poort. 👍
YES🤗👍😊
@@maggiereneemusic Phantom is a must, and maybe The Poet and the Pendulum ?
the NIGHTWISH ARMY Has you on our Radar ...Be Prepared ...
Lol. Sounds exciting! 😁
@@maggiereneemusic The Army loves good female vocals ..so im sure they will love you too . this should be interesting ...see you soon
Steve, don't you think Maggie should also react to a Tarja song?
Definitely phantom of the opera with Tarja
Well: Tarja is history and in the past - Floor is in the presence. And it is two very different styles.
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
I'll definitely 2nd this recommendation. For me her version of "Shallow" is probably one of the top ten songs that she sings for me.
Being a 6ft 4, 110kg metalhead I have to say I shed a tear at this version of shallow.
Speaking of bringing out emotions, I always think about "Dead Boy's Poem" live Buenos Aires 2018 or for example "Poet and the Pendulum" Wembly 2015... and so on.
@@karlheinzk1305 I thought of those two as well. Both so rich in feels and grand in scope.
Maggie: Is that slow-motion?
Nightwish Army: No, that's time standing still when Floor "The Valkyrie" sings! :-)
Lol. 😁
If it's Floor's opera voice you want, then you'll need to hear Nightwish's Shoemaker.
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
I second this.
Yes.
Yes. Just yes.
Like, a LOT. The end of that song has me crying like a bathtub of onions every goddamn time. Even more if you take a hot minute to research the story of Shoemaker beforehand.
Tuomas is a goddamn Mozart for writing that piece alone.
You are into it.. Haha! The NightWish Army it's here Girl! Storytime should be Next.. Same concert !
Thank you for the recommendation. 😀
That would be great. Would love to learn more. Thank you for your suggestion!😁
OMG I love that duet! Floor fangirling all over Henk is just incredible to watch.
Floor with Henk doing "Phantom of the Opera"!
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
Matter of taste, but I prefer the Nightwish 2005 version, with Marko and Tarja on vocals.
i suggest you do both the 2005 with Marko and Tarja as well the beste zangers one with Floor and Henk: the 2005 one will give you a chance to seetheir first vocalist who was more operatic in her approach but i think, you could say she couldnt shut off the operatic approach and vibrato and also you ll have a chance to appreciate the vocal capabilities of Marko the bassist of the band who was lead singer in band Tarot and in Nightwish often does a lot of duets with Floor, onthe other side Henk Port was the original Phantom in the dutch productions for years and according to an old interview by A. L. W. his favorite phantom) and Floor sings it less operatic and more contemporary style with clearer vocals and still great technic ( and Henk who had sung earlier in that show Sound of Silence the Disturbed version, adds a bit of rasp in his phantom on a part.)
It's great too and absolutely recomandable but you should also hear the version with their first singer Tarja from "the end of an era" concert. It's the best Phantom of the opera cover of all time in my opinion.
And yours is an empty hope live. Growing to opera.
versatile vocalist, Jansen can sing from ethereal, classical and operatic singing, to powerful belting, and aggressive, raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. She is a soprano.
Jansen started studying music at the Dutch Rock Academy in 1999, entering the Conservatorium Tilburg three years later. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. Later, she started teaching .. She's a musical chameleon , love her tone .
Thank you for the info. 😀
She is a god
The word "Versatile" seems weak for Floor. Most singers sing what the can, Floor sings what she wants.
@@deadmeat5150butt Agreed!
The drummer is so often overlooked on this song, and his performance is so epic, just as much as Floor, IMO. It's appreciated to see someone recognize that. Coupled with your excellent commentary, you have a new subscriber. Keep up the quality videos, Maggie!
Thank you very much for your lovely comment and welcome to my channel!😁❤
The magic of Nightwish is that everyone is great and complement each other, the keyboard, the drums, the vocals, the guitar... the rest too...and they have amazing lyrics and composition as well.
Not sure if I watch these for the music knowledge or Maggie's awesome personality. She's so extra and I love it.
Aw, thank you! 😁
Both!
Phantom of the opera by nightwish with Tarja Turunen. That is one piece of heck!
I listened to your suggestion! Hope to see you at my new NIGHTWISH reaction video Premiere tomorrow morning?
Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁❤🤘
Please react to "Sancta Terra" by Epica. She's a guest vocalist there. You'll hear her full opera mode there.
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
Yes yes Hell yes on Sancta Terra
Maggie, Just make sure to specify in the search about 'With Floor Jansen'. There is at least one other version that is Epica without Floor as a guest singer. Epica is GREAT by themselves too (very aptly named), but if you are looking specifically for Floor, just saying. :)
@@maggiereneemusic Doing this, you should react to Epica with Floor singing "Stabat Mater Dolorosa".
Classic Music in front of a location full with metalheads. Impressive piece of music with complete silence from the audience.
Sancta Terra you will enjoy; a full orchestra, with two beautiful soprano vocalists backed with a choir.
Maggie, So Tarja was the original singer for Night Wish. She’s more opera in her voice. Phantom of the opera with Tarja is good one to review.
Yes! You have to do Tarja next! Phantom of the Opera from the End of an Era tour! You''l get to hear the bassist Marco sing too, he's a BEAST too!
Yup. And Marco does just fine singing the Phantom's part. (understated)
Tarja has a album of just Ave Maria.
Yes, we keep suggesting *Phantom of the Opera* because of Tarja, but we all know what's gonna happen and who's gonna get all the attentions 😁
I listened to your Phantom suggestion! Hope to see you at my new NIGHTWISH reaction video Premiere tomorrow morning?
After you've seen enough performances from Floor, you start to realize she can do whatever the hell she wants, and sound amazing doing it.
Thank you for the info and for you suggestions! 😁
Marc Morton that entire Wacken 2013 concert is a masterpiece, pure genius!
Phil Lee you nailed it. The Please learn the setlist video is amazing and fun to watch.
@@Eloso3135 Your preaching to the Choir!
The Poet and the Pendulum and Phantom of the Opera are good songs too. They just released a new album called Human/Nature which is fantastic
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
Great blend of reaction and showcasing who you are, while entertaining and educating us. Thanks Maggie
My pleasure!! I had fun! Thank you so much for watching! 😁
Thank you for your comment and observation! My focus was mostly on the voice! 😁
This woman can really sing EVERYTHING you have to hear her in other songs!
😁
Their song shoemaker at the end has some opera in it
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
Shoemaker is vocally such an interesting song too! Not just for the operatics, which are gorgeous.
@@maggiereneemusic But before you do "Shoemaker", perhaps better to find out about Eugene Shoemaker himself.
A beautiful song 😍
I recommend this. That would be closest to operatic singing
Floor is the third singer, in the Nightwish lineup. If you want more operatic vocals, watch their earlier videos, with their original singer, Tarja Turunen. Amazing!
I listened to your suggestion! Hope to see you at my new NIGHTWISH reaction video Premiere tomorrow morning?
I do love, so much, how you react to the audience’s reaction more because you love it. An artist to be sure.

Tarja was the operatic side of Nightwish, their earlier albums. Annette was the rocker side and Floor is just a fantastic all-rounder.

If you're interested in Floor, you should see "The Greatest Show on Earth" Live by Nightwish. This will give you a nice example of what kind of magic Floor can do with her voice.

I agree with this,amazing song
Just be prepared Maggie. The Greatest Show on Earth is 20 minutes long and is 5 acts. Make sure you react to the live at Tampere Version. It's more epic.

Thank you!
Thank you very much!😁❤
Great suggestion, but I want to stress the reaction should be to the Tampere 2015 version. It's epic!
@@Idefixu :grins: I prefer the London one myself ... Sir Richard Dawkins in the flesh :salute:

It's not the London Symphony. For some reason, nonsense like Holopainen = New Mozart, Jansen = Best female singer in the world, and Once = London Symphony Orchestra perpetuates itself in UA-cam's comment section.
Floor does a cover of a Heart song - Alone. Have you watched it ?? Once again this girl shows just how good of a singer she is. Hey there Maggie, rock may be new to you. Oceans away from the wakeful day
My fall will be for you
My love will be in you
If you be the one to cut me
I'll bleed forever
My fall will be for you
My love will be in you
If you be the one to cut me
I'll bleed forever
Scent of the sea before the waking of the world
Brings me to thee
Into the blue memory
My fall will be for you
My love will be in you
If you be the one to cut me
I will bleed forever
My fall will be for you
My love will be in you
If you be the one to cut me
I will bleed forever
Into the blue memory
A siren from the deep came to me
Sang my name my longing
Still I write my songs about that dream of mine
Worth everything I may ever be
The Child will be born again
That siren carried him to me
First of them true loves
Singing on the shoulders of an angel
Without care for love n' loss
Bring me home or leave me be
My love in the dark heart of the night
I have lost the path before me
The one behind will lead me
Bring me home or leave me be
My love in the dark heart of the night
I have lost the path before me
The one behind will lead me
Take me
Cure me
Kill me
Bring me home
Every way
Every day
Just another loop in the hangman's noose
Take me, cure me, kill me, bring me home
Every way, every day
I keep on watching us sleep
Relive the old sin of Adam and Eve
Of you and me
Forgive the adoring beast
Redeem me into childhood
Show me myself without the shell
Like the advent of May
I'll be there when you say
Time to never hold our love
My fall will be for you
My love will be in you
You were the one to cut me
So I'll bleed forever
My fall will be for you
My love will be in you
You were the one to cut me
So I'll bleed forever

You will probably like Epicas Sancta Terra live. Floor is a guest singer on their stage and it will also introduce you to another Symphonic Metal powerhouse Simone Simons.
Thanks 😊
Couldn't agree more. Simone Simmons is great. Furthermore Symphonic Metal seems a perfect entrance to the genre for you =)
that right there is Jukka, the most energetic drummer i've ever seen
GOD i love that guy
The drummer is Jukka, he left shortly after. He suffered insomnia horribly when on tour. Floor had replaced the prior to this concert and had to learn the 20+ songs but she showed she could do it. I would suggest Floor singing Phantom of the Opera with Jenkins Poort. It was on her bucket list since childhood. The chemistry is off the chart.
Thanks for the info! 😁
I've heard this song described as a Viking Opera, and...it seems like a perfect description, lol.

Cool reaction!
As you like her singing, try some of her songs from the Dutch show 'Beste Zangers', like 'Vilja-Lied', 'Mama', 'Que se siente' and (of course) 'Phantom of the opera' :)
Thank you!😁
You forgot the two best Winner and Shallow.😉
That was a great reaction! I wish you could react to "Nightwish - Phantom of The Opera (feat. Tarja)" because it more likely has operatic parts and also Tarja has a good operatic voice too.

I listened to your Phantom suggestion! Hope to see you at my new NIGHTWISH reaction video Premiere tomorrow morning?
So glad you liked it! Thank you for your suggestions. 😁
Thanks for the info!😀

Welcome Maggie to my home country, home country of Nightwish. I was on the world gig premiere of this song with the first Nightwish vocalist Tarja Turunen. Never recovered from that, Floor is a bit different, but glorious as well. If wanting to hear Tarja take Wishmaster or Siren from the End of Era concert - of her Ghost Love Score - she does it operatically. Great that having fun in the Nightwish scape.

Thank you for your lovely comment. Hope to see you Saturday for my LIVE stream where I react to great artists LIVE?
Just a heads up, Floor is a self described “vocal technique nerd”. She has a really big toy box of stuff, but only breaks out what is necessary to communicate the meaning and emotion of a work. Tuomas the keyboard player is the composer, down to the backing tracks, vocal lines, guitar and bass work. Most of the material you will be watching was composed for the other two singers which Floor made her own. The only material Tuomas composed with her voice in mind would be the last two, Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human Nature.
Thank you for the info. 😎
The Metal Mozart. I firmly believe Tuomas is one of the finest living composers of the modern age.
well she is not only a self described nerd, she is classic schooled/trained ;)
All songs from the same show... Wacken 2013... And if you go for Poet and the Pendulum or Greastest Show on Earth, please read about it before... Nice options too are Shoemaker (new song with a really operatic part) or How's the heart acoustic version on Planet Rock, just she, Troy and a guitar... All this ones are flawless... Great reaction...

Thank you for your nice comment and suggestions!😁
Let's not forget to mention the musicians in the band, world class! The composition, I believe written by the keyboard player, and of course Floor. If you ever see her off stage in an interview, she is intelligent, personable, down to earth and could light up a room with her smile. Born to perform!

thank you for reaction, i hope you will check more Nightwish songs. Also Floor have nice collaboration with friends Epica - "Sancta terra" and "Stabat mater dolorosa"
Thank you for your suggestions. 😁
Floor is classically trained and also a vocal coach. Glad you loved this. She is probably my favorite female singer right now. Just like any genre there are different sounding Symphonic Metal. Never apologize for being weird ;)
"Yesssss!!!" - Floorgasm achieved. - Mission accomplished. ;)
So glad! 😁
And now, for something completly different I would recommend "Yours is an empty hope"
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
Should look up Yannis Papadopolous doing a vocal cover of this. His band Beast in Black has opened for them
Thank you for your suggestion. 😁
@@maggiereneemusic Beast in Black, please do them soon. They will not be what you will expect going in.
Glad you like the drummer,he kills it
Now you seen Floor in Opera an pop voice.
Thank you for your suggestion. 😀
you could watch Floor Jansen on "the bestezangers" she does a cover of shallow on that and phantom of the opera with Henk Poort. i saw it on youtube. it is a show from europe that has a group of singers that perform songs. if you have not watched it is very good. lots of good songs and some are in other languages.
Thank you for your suggestion!😁
Floor is their third singer. Please react also to their first singer Tarja. She was a fully clasical singer and gave the band a unique mysterious touch with her voice.
I'd like to see you reacting also to her, specially because you're also from this music genre.
I recommend you the following songs from "the end of an era"- concert
-The phantom of the opera
-Slaying the dreamer
-The siren
-Dark chest of wonders
You'll be as amazed as by Floor. I promise. Great reaction BTW. 😁❤
Thank you for your kind words and suggestion. 😁
Floor has studied Opera singing. She is an opera singer too
thank you for seeing and doing my recommendation!!! love all your reaction videos and breakdowns, no matter what artist/genre/style etc. you react to. keep up the awesome work! looking forward for more!
Thank you very much!😁❤
When you hit that opera note..that was pretty sick. I got instant chill.
The style is like this, but IMO no other band can hold a candle to Nighwish, since none of them have a composer that can hold a candle to Tuomas.
Thank you for your comment! If you enjoy metal, I just posted a new Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) reaction to be Premiered in less than 1 hour! Hope you can join us? 😁
Even if tuomas is one of the biggest 💩💩💩💩 in the music industry
@pasific coast piper You know him personally? Wow, how cool!
@@k.l.7788 him no, tarja, yes
@@pacificcoastpiper3949 what a surprise. Sarcasm isn’t your thing is it?
Maggie, you might dig an old Nighwish song "Sleeping Sun"
Their original singer Tarja has a hauntingly beautiful voice
Thank you for your suggestion! Did you like my new reaction video to a gothic metal band I just posted?
That was awesome... Please react to The poet and the pendulum (live with Lyrics on) or The greatest show on earth (live) by Nightwish...
Eventually would love to hear your reactions on some of their most recent (and more technical stuff), especially Shoemaker.
So glad you liked it! Thank you for your suggestions. 😁
Shoemaker!!! Floor is at her most operatic at the end of the song!
as a lover of all music, primarily metal/rock, i do appreciate when others listen and hear the music i love most. and thats how i used to sound out beautiful when i was a kid having to spell it out lol
Lol. Thank you for your lovely comment. 😍
i was there in wacken when they played this.holy sheep i never experienced a concert like this EVER again in ANY concert! floor is just amazing!
😀
