”That’s some rasp in there!” - waiting for Yours is an Empty Hope reaction *evil laughter*
Bwahahaha!
When they are going to react to that one - somebody bring a long a dental surgeon. They need somebody to stitch them jaws back on their faces after they dropped them through the floor. That song should be accompanied with a health and safety warning.
@@diamondback6653 My favorite, if I had to pick one. Everything flows so naturally, and it really showcases everyone in the band.
Oh yeah......🤘🤘🤘🤘🇦🇺
That's one great song. I love it when Floor gets all growly...I want to quote "Austin Powers"....Oh Beeehaaave!!! It's so sexy!!!
IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY YES PLEASE DO THE WHOLE CONCERT🙏 It's one of the greatest live performances of all time, start to finnish.
Seconded. Seriously. YES. Do it guys, you won't regret a second of the effort!!!!
Do it!
Please do it.
Thirded. And HELL YEAH to the "start to finnish" pun 🎉
Do it or regret it!😉
Whole concert. Yep, every song. I’m down for that.
Me too! I've just subscribed just to know if you do that! :D And please, do Nightwish - Weak Fantasy - live from Tampere Finland. That song kicks some serious ass! :)
here is the full HD Wacken 2013 concert with the correct speed and the setlist too, ua-cam.com/video/cAwtzi7Q3Bk/v-deo.html
Do it guys yes!!! The whole fucking show is one of the best live show ever
Totaly agree.
Rock in Rio 2001
Look for Gabriel's post. It has links to everything you need to get your Nightwish journey started.
No please don’t. Because that’s just 100 jumping on the bandwagon.
I've seen a lot of concerts, and concert videos, and for me it's right up there with Pulse (Pink Floyd), and Alchemy (Dire Straits)
This performance was 70 minutes into the concert... Legend
Fun Fact: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score is most reacted song on UA-cam, also Nightwish is most reacted band on YT.
Nightwish=Institution!
I thought they were but Ive never seen any metrics.
Do you know where I can find it?
@@menwithven8114 yea, I know youtube dont but there are other ways to get such data, a self searching program searching for Nightwish, then sorting out non essential or undesired shouldnt be *that* hard to script for someone who knows what theyre doing.
Granted it wouldnt be completely accurate as some people dont write the band name in the title or description etc.
'and it would probably not control the content in the video as that would take forever so I guess the best you could hope for is an estimated number anyway.
Best PERFORMANCE I have ever witnessed in my 50+ years on this rock.
I see Nightwish, I click.
I have been HANGING OUT for you guys to react to them again! You're hilarious!!!
Thanks Erin! Feel free to watch our other stuff in the meantime, but more Nightwish is 100% coming
@@CATCHtheSCASE I have been! More Alestorm is required!
@@CATCHtheSCASE keyboards Tuomas who writes and composes most of the music ,composes with London Philharmonic for the symphonic tracks on keys
@@CATCHtheSCASE hey guys,2 months and no NW :( we NW fans have been waiting for you to take that deep dive ,what ya say ? the Wacken 2013 concert is a seminal concert event so every song is GOLD

Song of Myself
Yeah they're really amusing
Welcome to the Nightwish Army!!! YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THIS!!!!!!!!
Finland, Sweden ...what's the difference in the end! But glad to educate a couple of Mexicans like you! ;)
🤣
I was there, and I can tell you that the hole crowd about almost 2 ours life in another world. It was a insane concert, the best I've ever seen. Almost 2 ours getting nuts 🤪 with 82.000 other people !!!!
Yes you must really see the hole concert, and after that you've got to see the concert live at Wembley, I was there too. That was also a mind-blowing concert.
And Floor can sing anything , operatic/classic, pop, belting, screaming and she has a lot of other surprises for you guys that you will find out and blow up your mind.
Great reaction by the way, Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 !!!!
"whole" (as in entire). English spelling can be crazy.
@@alanfoster6589 sorry forgot 😅 the w. 🤣 Yes I meant the entire show. English is not my native language, so I try to write it as good as I can. And oops sometimes I forget a letter. 😁
damn, very jealous, must of been great!
if you were there you could remember, that the Wacken infield wasn't completely full and not nearly as crowded as Rammstein two days earlier and due to the muddy underground there were some big spaces inbetween. Also a lot of campers had allready left the festival since it was the very last show on saturday night before the curfew. I'd say realisticly there were about 40k to 50k at this particular concert.
@@LuriTV I stand just before the middle in front of me it was absolutely full, and behind us are a lot of people to. I don't count the people around me, but the organisation told it was sold out that means around 82.000 people in. And I'm pretty sure that the crowd was bigger than you suggested. And what the hack it was a mind-blowing show, and a very great event. I loved it.
To answer some questions:
- Chip 'n Dale first appeared in 1943 in a Pluto short, the Chippendales in 1979.
- Floor is not an opera singer. She is an everything singer.
- They use a backing track recorded from the London Philharmonic IIRC.
- Yes, do the entire concert. This song is typical, and arguably one of the more radio-friendly ones.
The first Chippendale was the furniture.
Late 18th, early 19th century.
I want my tears back live at Buenos Aires the crowd goes wild and the band are so enjoying it with floor dancing
Yeah good performance but not as good as Wacken
@@mubbles1066 exactly
they have a backing track of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which is the main orchestral sound you hear. but Tuomas also plays some orchestral sounds on his keyboards at the same time. also, if you want a more heavier sound, Romanticide, Yours is an Empty Hope or Ghost River are good options to see the rougher side of Floor!
Master Passion Greed is pretty heavy to.
@@dustbunny1977 But I don't think they have ever done that live, right? Really angry and heavy though.
@@demopem Yeah, i read a comment in another video that Tuomas would never play this song live. Apparently he was very angry when he wrote the song! But don't quote me on that! 😉
@@dustbunny1977 Their heaviest song.
@@dustbunny1977 That's true. There is a video on UA-cam that someone put together but it's just cuts from other videos. They've never done it live and Tuomas says they never will. He's actually ashamed of it now but it's one of their best songs, in my opinion.
Hey, if you guys are interested, Floor Jansen is now doing cover songs on her UA-cam channel and a master class online, she is a professional voice coach classically trained at least 20 years, she did Frozen let it go, and alone by heart, every Saturday, more to come, thanks 😊
they are doing a Virtual Show on March 12 & 13 and you can buy tickets now !!!!!
Only available in Europe however.
@@joop558 No it's available worldwide. Just the package with a t-shirt is Europe only. The first show is timed to be timezone appropriate for Europe and the second one for North America
I still got tickets to actual concert that was movied from 2020 to 2021... but with situation in the world I don’t know if that would be possible
It's rescheduled to 28th & 28th of May🤘😄
100% yes for a full concert reaction. There is a instrumental about half way through (Last of the Wilds) that works as a pretty good half time split if you wanted to do it in two parts. Make sure you use the correct speed version, not the one that is slowed down by like 5%.
Edit: ua-cam.com/video/cAwtzi7Q3Bk/v-deo.html (pinned comment has time stamp of songs for reference).
"I have spent so much of this song with goosebumps...What the hell..."
Multiple Floorgasms achieved! Congrats on a great reaction!!!
Never seen two guys so stunned before. Welcome to the amazing world of Nightwish and the Goddess Floor Jansen.
"Kind of opera I'd go to." Have a look at "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" - Buenos Aires, 2015. I call it a mini-opera.
Also, her outfit will destroy you ;).
2018
Symphonic Metal =/= Opera completely different genres.
Pulls up chair for Poet & The Pendulum.......
The music.. Toumas "the keyboard player" writes 90% of all Nightwish songs.. We call him The Metal Mozart.. He sends out the initial sound tracks to the others, they work with that, then get together and collaborate, put their own personal touches in to finish off the song.. He then composes the required Symphonic elements that they need for their live shows and works with groups like the London Philharmonic to record the parts that can't be reproduced on stage.. So, it's a combination of the synth and these Symphonic and Choir backing tracks to produce that signature sound that is "Symphonic Metal".. It's a real labor of love all of them work so tightly to bring to life Toumas' creation to a finished product. All the songs sound different, even the Albums... Wacken 2013 is the tail end show of their 18 month Imaginaerum Album World tour.. Many songs on the Imaginaerum album has that mystical/fantasy kind of vibe. Their next album after this has a more power metal sound, the one after that... well I'll let you find out, no since making your heads explode this early in the process....
Tuomas*
This picture never gets old: Juuka banging on his TAMA set, Emppu shredding his ESP EV-1, Marco creating magic lines on his Warwick Buzzard and Tuomas unleashing his genius on his KORGs. And of course Floor mesmerizing like a modern day Valkyrie....epic is an understatement.
Tuomas plays as much as is possible..but most of the orchestral/choral backing is midi driven
The orchestra is recorded by the London Philharmonic.
Nightwish was formed in Finland in 1996

Troy is English, Anette is Swedish, Floor is Dutch and the rest are Finnish
Symphonic elements of songs pre-recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London's The Metro Voices choir group and the London Young Musicians Children's Choir. Tuomas writes the music for the orchestra and choir and then Pip Williams of the London college of music arranges it. Tuomas sometimes wants more than the instruments are capable of giving.
Tuomas has said. The way it works in NIGHTWISH is that I am very much a solo
worker. So I try to make all the songs - even the arrangements - as ready as
possible, as much as I feel that I have to give to the songs. Most of the riffs, even
some drum fills and stuff like this. I just try to make it as good as I can do it by
myself. And then I introduce the songs and demos that I've done on my own to
the other members of the band, and then we start the rearranging process. You
know, 'Could you come up with a better riff for this one?' 'Would the bass line be
different in that one?' 'What about if the vocal line is like this?' And sometimes the
songs change a lot
Floor tweeted this
If I hadn't had passionate music teachers in my high school, I might never have
started singing. I was the bullied, insecure kid who dreamt of singing without
knowing that I had a voice for it. "Because of my dedication at school I dared to
crawl out of my shell and started to sing! I became more confident of myself and
made friends and was forever in love with music. "Nothing is as wonderful and
honest as making music together. Nothing connects as music can. Music
education is therefore very important for many reasons.
Floor's Wiki Bio
Floor Jansen started studying music at the Dutch Rock Academy in 1999,
entering the Conservatorium Tilburg three years later. She studied musical
theatre and a year of opera. After After Forever split up she started teaching
performing in her own course called Wanna be a Star?!
She used to play the guitar, piano and flute and has completed several years of
music studies. From the age of 16 all during this period she was fronting the the
Band Apocalypse (later known as After Forever) in 1997 until they disbanded in
2009. She then did vocal coaching and formed her own band called Revamp
which officially broke up in 2016 because of Floor's commitment to Nightwish.
The RockAcademy in the Netherlands is an actual Bachelors degree,
conservatory style, but focusing on the rock/pop industry.
Ghost Love Score is one of the most amazing songs ever. The lyrics, the atmosphere, the feelings cannot be described.
The song itself is an EPIC MASTERPIECE.
The Scandinavian Metal - Gothic Metal scene is miles and miles and miles beyond its time!
At the last Nightwish concert I was at, this was their ending song and myself and many around me had tears streaming down our faces
Best synchronized head bobbing on YT for sure! 😁
JOO eikö vaan .
All yesss for a full on Wacken experience. Also react to : Yours is an empty hope live at Wembley. Your jaws will definitely be on the floor !
I totally agree with that 👍 When they hear 👂that song they really felt of there chairs !!! I was in Wembley Arena and it was crazy 🤪. I also was at this concert both are by far the best concerts I've ever seen 😍.
@@michaelvandiermen I discoverd them a little to late for that ! Would love to have been at both concerts. So I am a bit jealous. Hopefully I will see them in the future. Nightwish is definitely on my list to go see live in concert among a lot of others. So cool that you have were able to see them at Wacken !
@@almanijboer8934 A live concert of them is really a treatment, I hope that you can see 👀 them live in 2021 !!!
Nightwish Army WILL KNOW your location... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 honestly, you will hear from them (if you haven't already)... they have the Floorgasm Universal Scanner... 😁
YES! Please do the whole show in one go. You know you want to! 😉 Can't wait for you to hear Floor and Marko (the "bad ass" viking, who happens to be a versatile and great vocalist too and my favorite male singer) singing together for the first time. And to meet Troy, our beloved multi instrumentalist, who isn't on stage for every song.
Asking Floor: What can't you do? - Floor: I don't understand the question. What is "can't"?
Offcourse you should do the whole show its amazing.
The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. The documentary is called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (ua-cam.com/video/vhExkmWKMEU/v-deo.html
You already picked up on her wide range but you have only just seen a small part of it yet. She is the vocal version of Swiss army knife. Here are few recommendation on her tremendous range.
Let's take a look at another spectrum of her arsenal and take a look at a "Lady Gaga" cover she did few months ago from the song "Shallow" performed for Dutch TV program. ua-cam.com/video/M68pe4a_9zk/v-deo.html
On this show She sang a song each week and all are top tear and unique. The name of the show is called Best singers. The audience watching on the couch are fellow vocalist. She sang 8 songs in 4 langues (Dutch, English, German and Spanish but has also sung in Swedish, Finish and Italien on other occasions. The next song is the Spanish song (a language she does not speak) on this show. She sang this song for the curly hair bearded guy with wide grin on his face that is half Dominican. There is a little interview with subtitles at the start that will give you a Impression of the show. ua-cam.com/video/wef2n07Irwo/v-deo.html
If you ever where unsure if she had any classical background take a look at her performing a Pucinni aria. ua-cam.com/video/Od_qcbw3f5Q/v-deo.html
Just an impression of what she sounded like when she just started out take a look at her in her first band "After Forever" singing "Monolith of doubt" ua-cam.com/video/3TmKHkQx45U/v-deo.html
😁
There was a guy in the comments on another reaction that said he was invited to this concert not knowing who Nightwish was.... He said he cried in a joyful way for the whole concert... I've been in the Nightwish Army now for several months.... I still cry with feeling and appreciation nearly every song.
The bull head on fire is the logo for the Wacken festival where they are performing. One of the biggest metal festival in the world, done every year in Wacken, Germany. Nightwish was the headliner in front of 82000 people. Since you are experienced with classical music, I would be curious for you react to the 2nd disc of their new album named All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World which is a 30 minutes instrumental only symphonic piece and also Tuomas' solo project Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge, especially the official video for the song A Lifetime Of Adventure.
Referring to Floor smiling: This is partly because one needs a certain mouth positioning to be able to sing in a certain way, so her smiling is part of her singing technique. In addition, Floor said that this concert was like reaching the peak of her singing career. She loved performing at Wacken 2013- who wouldn't smile ;)
And a nice story that fits your comment about "being there and not knowing what to expect": There is a (German) UA-cam-comment from a spectator. He told that he was expecting to hear some innocent, light metal and maybe dance a little...and was fully blown away from the beginning. Considering this is a festival, a huge potion of the audience were not specially Nightwish fans, and might not even have been aware that there was a new singer - so surprise might have been one of the dominant feelings that evening.
Damn, I wish a had been there - not even an hour drive from where I live... :-(
Wacken is Legendary!!! Bow Your Heads!!!!!
Welcome to the family! Nightwish is the best band in the world. Floor is a Goddess
This ENTIRE concert is this good, beginning to end...it's ICONIC.
At this concert there were Nightwish fans who had never heard Floor since she had joined mid tour. They knew Nightwish, some of them for years, and Floor was fairly unknown. Hearing her for the first time in a recording of the concert is one thing, for that to be live, at this show is insane.
Defenitely two more souls taken! 😆
Yes please, more from Wacken 2013!
So Floor what vocal techniques can you do?
Floor: Yes!
Yes - whole concert!!!
"Shut your ass that happened!" Best line ever...lol
This might be the best line I have heard and I have watched many of these reactions.
"SHUT YOUR ASS" should be on a shirt. Want one?
Hell yeah
Now do Unleash the Archers - Awakening. Another shut your ass moment.
Everyone thinks it, thanks for saying it!
To put it simple: this performance is World Class.
Whole concert. From Start to Finish.. There is no mistake there.. All songs will blow you away!

Do the whole Wacken show guys & I'll get the beers in 👍- you will be so amazed with that magical show - You would not regret it , Welcome to the army boys 😃.
Hi from the UK guys. Just another day at the Nightwish office! Floor is Dutch and is classically trained. She is a 2m powerhouse and can really "sell" a story with emotion, expression and her vocal gymnastics. Nightwish instrumentalists...there are no words. Always epic performances, sometimes inclusive with audience participation and brilliant compositions, which take you on a journey! Floorgasim’s after Floorgasim’s.Great reactions and analysis. Best wishes and stay safe.

Yes. Enjoy the full Wacken 2013 concert and every marvellous experience that they performed there. You won't be disappointed.
All I will say is this is just the beginning. 23 years later and I'm still enjoying this band just as much as the first time I heard them. I never made it to Wacken but I have attended 3 other concerts and the performances are simply amazing!
Great reaction guys! To answer your question regarding the pre recorded tracks that Tuomas is using on the keyboard...Well all of them were recorded as samples from the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir so if you are coming from a 'classical' listening backroung you surely can recognize why the samples used in the album are so sublime. Keep going with the Nightwish reactions and we will follow :)
Incredible band with a more incredible vocalist, the perfect symbiosis.
I think that, so far in my "short" life of 6o years, having listened to music in every genre, this is the best performance of the best song ever. A true masterpiece! BTW, good reaction!
They just anouced new virtual consert in March 12 & 13. I just bought tickets, see ya there! :)
Hey, if you guys like the guitar player Emmpu from nightwish you should definitely check romantacide next and then try Nightwish cover of Pink Floyd high hopes, awesome awesome thanks 😊one song in Dutch last week. Thanks 😊
Yes to this entire show, every song is as epic as this one!! Then after that there’s so many more from different shows to recommend ahh the list is endless
Yes! The whole Wacken concert! Tampere 2015, Wembley 2015, Buenos Aires 2018 also! 😎🤘
If you want to hear their first singer Tarja Turunen, check "End of an era" live concert! She's awesome too!
This concert is legendary. This was midway through and the whole thing from start to finish is this great if not greater. Music just doesn't get any better IMHO. 🤘😁
Awesome reaction... Now that's a great performance... Believe it or not, Nightwish have a few more even better performances up their sleeves.
Since stumbling onto NIGHTWISH 2 years ago, Which like most (WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!) since (I) Being a MUSIC HEAD period - am like where the hell have I been, feel the same as everyone who finds their way to NIGHTWISH. However after listening to this concert I went backwards to the beginning with the past singers whom are phenomenal! Alas, for Me Lady Jansen is thee musical Home for me to come to when I need to be held. I am well schooled in Metal/Classical/Iron Maiden! and of course LED ZEPPELIN! the foundation of R&R & swag. Floor Jansen brought me hope in NIGHTWISH. I watched faithfully the 1st time as a new listener as I viewed this Masterpiece of music and revel in the fondness of this Group of people. BUT - In this post Marco has resigned from the group and again NIGHTWISH is at a crossroads, for MARCO to me, as for many is NIGHTWISH!. as is Floor She is home for me. Because really, TUOMOS music! found (Home), Within Floor Jansen. I can only Hope this will be reconciled but like life the disappointments walk hand & hand with Us. I am being selfish here - I may never see the group the way it is now.
Otherwise be well and safe out there.
Greatest show on earth and Romanticide🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Complete Wacken 2013 Concert pleeeeeeez !! One of the most entertaining concerts you will ever witness !!!
The composer/writer (Tuomas ... TU-wo-moss ... on keyboards) and Emmpu (guitarist) and the original vocalist (Tarja ... TAR-yuh) were in high school together, so ... close on the college thing. Love this reaction, gents. Cheers.
is a symphonic metal band from Finland. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen
Hi guys.
For starters, per song reaction is the recommended dosage.
The anxiety of having to wait to do the next reaction video is heavily suggested as it adds to the moment when you finally get to hear a new song/performance.
Tuomas picks certain parts to play live, the rest, he leaves up to Pip Williams to compose and prerecord at Angel Recording Studios with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and choir to use in the albums and live performances.
Pip Williams has been working with Nightwish since their first studio album in 1997.
Yes, that was Floor hitting a G5 in the 13th song of a 15 song set. Funny, 2 songs before this she hit an F6 like she was warming up. If you follow the standard Nightwish introduction phase for reactions as recommended by the Nightwish Army, you will see for yourself in "Romanticide" next.
Marko Hietala- Bass/Vocals
Emppu Vuorinen- Guitar
Troy Donockley- multi instrumentalist
Jukka Nevalainen- Drums
You're going to love this journey. The rabbit hole goes deep, so buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Thank you for the video, reaction and comments.
Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘
Yes the whole live concert is awesome....Waken 2013....
Love Nightwish, love Tool. Hi, from 🇫🇮
Your face at the grand finale: priceless! I've seen a few hundred GLS reactions, but you are Top 5, for sure!
The whole show is amazing! You should do it!
"If you build it, he will come." Same same. "If you film it, we will watch." Nightwish at Wacken 2013, full concert, you will not be disappointed. And "Romanticide" (at same concert) will blow you away even more.
Do it, just do it, do the whole Wacken 2013, you guys are funny :D
I have seen nightwish live 3 times now and I have ticket for there next show I walk away from the concert in a daze everytime they are amazing live and floor is a goddess
C t S....Nice reaction, thank you. Tuomas works with the London Phil on the back tracks. This was the 13th of 15 songs on the set list. The rabbit hole is turning into your Grand Canyon. You will enjoy doing the entire Wacken set list I'm sure ( I know I will ). Then Buenos Aires, Wembley and Tampare concerts. This is the first time almost all of the 82K NW fans there hear and see Floor and Troy live. I think they are all so happy on stage.....They know they nailed this venue and the NW Army is on board 100% with the new members.
Romanticide next! Great reaction!🤘
The Wacken concert on first release blue-ray had an error (compression/coding error which slowed it down) for which Nuclear Blast Records copped a blast from Nightwish. The DVD is better as is the later re-release blue-ray. Tuomas Holopainen (song-writer/composer and keyboards player) plays several lead instruments on three keyboards with a backing track arranged and recorded by Tuomas and Pip Williams with the London Philharmonic Orchestra plus London Metro Voices Choir.
Been a Nightwish fan for over 20 years ( Saboton for about 5 years) Doing the whole Wacken 2013 concert is a great way to really see why there are so many fanatical Nightwish fans because they are part of the performance with their energy helping to drive the band with positive energy. Ghost Love Score is the 13th song off the set of 15. I have a mantra with Nightwish, “ My favorite Nightwish song is always the last one I listened to”. Live is the way to go but their Albums are masterpieces, but their stage performances are on another level! Good luck on your journey! Not to confuse you try Sancta Terra by Epica, at their a retrospective show, featuring Floor Jansen ( yes that Floor Jansen). If you want more symphonic metal goodness. Epica is loved by Nightwish fans and visa versa! Floorgasms are goosebumps by Floor! The adrenaline rush is by the band they are awesome! Good luck on your journey it’s not a rabbit hole it’s a worm hole!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wacken,epic,legendary concert,!!!!
Dudes....I saw them live in Edmonton in 2017 and they are one of my all time favorite bands now. Do the concert....it will change your whole musical foundation and give you a far more profound appreciation for them. To me, Floor is the top front woman...period....in the world. If you want to see how good Floor is, watch Beste Zangers where the "best singers" sing each other's songs based on their own genre and skillset. Floor got #1 on Spotify on a few charts after singing German, Spanish and English songs that show her classically trained background. This goddess can do it all. Then watch the other Nightwish masterpieces, all composed and written by Tuomas the keyboardist, a true genius and prodigy. Enjoy the journey dudes. 😎💪
Mr. Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen FIN (keyboards) - Wizard, effect: is it possible to create?!
[Mr. Jukka Antero "Julius" Nevalainen FIN (drums) - Pirate, effect: E.M.O.T.I.O.N.S.]
Mr. Kai Hahto FIN (drums) - Grandpa, effect: is it possible to play?!
Mr. Marko Tapani Hietala FIN (bass) - Viking, effect: how did he sing it?! / >>MARCOTICS>FLOORGASM
Knowing very well what Nightwish can do (been a fan for the last 15+ years) I clicked the thumbnail image JUST because of the sheer look on you faces and I wasn't disappointed 😁 subbed, this was a blast to watch!
And yes, do the entire concert, YOU won't be disappointed 😉
Nightwish weekly double-headers. Nightwish Army will approve.
You 2 have so many more to discover. And it will become much more jawdropping. Believe me, you will enjoy.
Wacken, just do it!
Thanks for this one 🤘🤘
As a fellow Merikan, they have a much, much bigger European following. Being near NYC, I've seen them at Beacon Theater and they are coming back to Terminal 5 (3000 seats). It's awesome we get to see them in much smaller venues because of that.
Yes! Full Wacken 2013 concert! All at once, chunks, individual songs - doesn''t matter. JUST DO IT!
The orchestral parts are recorded to Tuomas' score (he's the keyboard payer and writes 95% of their music) by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, with assistance from Pip Williams on the arrangement. Likewise with the choral backing, which is London's Metro Voices and the London Young Musicians Children's Choir.
This was the 13th of 15 songs in their headlining set at this seminal concert. This song was not even in the setlist when Floor was brought in with 48 hours notice to replace Anette, mid-tour, 10 months earlier. It was one she remembered and liked from having opened for them back in her After Forever days, so she rewrote the ending and got them to pull out the backing tracks, and 10 days after she met up with them in Salt Lake City, it was back in, starting in Austin TX.
She was coming out of a burn-out at the time, and had not performed for some time, although her second (and as it turned out, final) album with her own band, ReVamp, was fully recorded and in process for release.
This was easily her largest concert ever, and she had them all in the palm of her hand. She could not be announced as a member until after a little unfinished business though - She released her own band ReVamp's final album immediately after the tour, and was announced as the permanent replacement straight afterwards.
Both Floor and Nightwish have described her joining them as a homecoming.
Every member of Nightwish have side projects as well, and every one of them is a musical genius.
Just wait until you meet Troy!
While all are multi-instrumentalists, Troy can basically play anything he wants, just as Floor can sing anything she wants.
Oh, and before you ask, Floor stands 183cm in bare feet, or a full 2M in stage heels. She keeps fit by running the homestead in Sweden with her husband Hannes (Sabaton's drummer) and 3-year-old daughter and training her horses - she built the training corral herself, and can wield a hammer that would put many manual labourers to shame and which Thor himself would not be ashamed by - driving in posts for a horse corral or paddock is no sissy business.
Marco (on bass here) is also an excellent guitarist and drummer and can play keyboards (I think they all can manage some keyboards), Tuomas plays clarinet, Floor guitar, keyboards and flute.
Emppu (lead guitar here) I'm not sure of, but he can certainly play the fool :-) He is the jester of the bunch and known as the hobbit.
The only way Floor cannot sing is badly, and she is an excellent vocal coach - her free online lessons (on her own UA-cam channel) have extended my range by over an octave, and I was already not a bad singer - you don't get perfect scores at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and an invitation to record for the BBC at their Maida Vale Studios of you sound like a tortured frog, even as a member of a choir! I actually led the basses (probably because I was one of very few in the choir who could sight-read from a score). The BBC session was a blast, as they had to dig deep and search hard for a mic able to capture the depth of my voice - I vibrate buildings, and a sound tech there joked that they'd have hired a seismograph if they'd known. They did find one with a decent response down to 20Hz after a bit of a dig - below which it doesn't matter anyway, as broadcasting will filter below that and the human ear will even if they don't! So all that octave plus extension was upwards, and I can now cover the whole baritone range with ease (but I don't know how much power - as said, I vibrate buildings and that means I can't easily find anywhere to really give it a belt without causing upset with neighbours).
Alas, my performing days are well behind me - that BBC session was prior to local radio, which dates it, and my playing (decent amateur violinist) is now curtailed by arthritis. But I know good music when I hear it, and Nightwish are IT.
Awesome awesome great reaction to the best concert ever. Hi from Switzerland 🤘🏽
Double Thumbs Up crazy cats, Wacken 2013 is great, there are 15 different & Fantastic songs that will keep you excited PS you just watched the 13th of the 15th song of this show and they were the headliner with 82,000 fans there
Saw them live, intimate concert in Pittsburgh, 3,000 people, same energy, amazing.
Love your reactions guys. One of the Epic 4. Hail Nightwish
It surely takes a lot of steam out of you when experiencing Nightwish :-) Like running a marathon! Great reaction btw!!
Congrats! You have just experienced a Floorgasm! Welcome to the party. Watch each song in the concert. It will change your life. Recorded track...London philharmonic orchestra and choir.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she
got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power
of her vocals.
We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard.
ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
The Nightwish Army is coming!
Nightwish Army Central Florida Black Company reporting for duty!

Younger Floor......
Yes, you should absolutely do the whole Wacken 2013 show. The whole show is amazing, and basically a must see for anyone who is even remotely into this kind of music. I'd watch your reaction. Even if it is 3 hours long.
By the way, that concert is available on DVD/Bluray under the name "Showtime, Storytime" and it comes with the documentary about the Imaginaerium tour ("Please learn the setlist in 48 hours"), including how Floor joined the band, which is also well worth watching. It is mostly in finnish though, with english subs.
