Literally all I did this game is get that robot as a companion and fired occassionally for combat, and the rest I either chucked molotovs at them or grenades. Oh damn you, Jon!!! Closing the door in the way that it trapped that legendary radroach's head on the other side, was absolutely horrifying!!! I didn't need that right before the bed time.
A few tips: 1. "Summer shorts" are the best charisma clothing, as they only take up the chest and undergarment slot, allowing you to keep most of your pocketed gear on. 2. You can craft Newka-cola for rad-free caffeine and AP at the nuka mixer, with one nuka-cherry and nuka-cola. 3. Tinker Tom sells the "Tinker Tom Special", a legendary hunting rifle guaranteed to spawn with a silencer (and in my experience also with a calibrated powerful receiver, though that might be level dependent). Even though you can't use legendaries, you could take the parts from it. Though hunting rifles are arguably not that much better than the bolt-action pipe rifles. They are faster firing, which is useful in VATS, have a slightly higher damage, and are better for crits with the calibrated receiver.. But they are also a lot more heavy. 4. When firing multiple shots in VATS you can tab out of VATS (I don't know the button for it on a controller), and immediately go back in VATS again, to take shots faster.
I also thought abernathy should've been the first minutemen quest. it's got a story, very scenic, more believable that preston heard in passing that they were being harassed, and codswarth even has some flavor dialogue when talking to them, who I might add is only available as a companion after concord. Just seems like a missed layup

Gotta love Jon saying raiders aren't very accurate after not 30 minutes before taking the first combat damage of the run from a raider on a roof half a mile away with a crappy pipe pistol.
20:31- That Cunning Raider Chest Piece could be EXTREMELY useful for your run here as the "ultra light weight" mod for raider chests is free... and those extra AP could easily become the difference between getting damaged in a situation or completely avoiding it! Good stuff.
That legendary Radroach spawns if you have the mission activated. Im loving this series brother. It popped up on my suggested, and instantly thought "is this guy out of his mind" now i know for sure ..... YOUR OUT OF YOUR MIND. It takes balls to attempt this run bro
The reason the Ultra-Light looked like it was free was because you more than likely picked up/scrapped armor that gave you the mod for it. It doesn't matter the prerequisites for any mod as long as you "unequip it" by changing the slot it takes to none/nothing or scrapping the armor itself (I believe) So it should be in your inventory under mods at the far right tab, making it perfectly legal. So theoretically if you find a piece of leg armor better than your muffled leather, you can just remove the mod from it and place it on the better armor piece. Makes things much easier that way. Loving the series so far btw!
This reminds me how much I actually love the early part and this corner of the game. FO4 was my first FO and ES game, and sneaking around at night in this corner, exploring the map and the game, not knowing anything of how to survive. Yea... thanks Jon.
But Jon buddy... you have been thirsty for a long time. Keep hydrated, thirst also detracts from XP. Keep hydrated at water pumps in settlements, save your water.
The musket has no spread, just that loopy shot so it is great for extreme long ranged aimed shots. It was great to kill the lookouts on corvega in my last survival run.
Hunting radstags around Abernathy Farm is probably the best starting hunting ground. After that with the double meat book head to taffington boathouse to hunt bloodbugs

Or if a legendary drops he wants to use and he needs to buy expensive ammo.
@@aetryn1485 it depends doesn't it really. when you can make the best cap to time ratio with the ease of empty bottles (purified water) it really doesn't matter picking up everything. Esp when your STR is so low you can only carry a certain amount.
When I played this game, I liked being able to carry everything, as I always play a trader rather than a run/gunner. But thats just because I rather build/manage than do stuff myself.
Literally all I did this game is get that robot as a companion and fired occassionally for combat, and the rest I either chucked molotovs at them or grenades. Then I just built my settlements up where you could just call the minutemen to come in and clear up (i think - not sure if that was a mod).
@@METALFREAK03 That'd be fine too, but he doesn't even do that. He just mostly ignores trying to earn caps except erratically when he decides buying something is important right now. I mean, it's fine if he wants to play that way. I'm just pointing out that he almost certainly isn't refusing to loot because he's worried about his food/water/sleep meters (and recommending that people stop commenting on every instance of him leaving worthwhile loot behind)
I've had the first step send me to Greentop Nursery and they asked me to clear out Dunwich Borers. At level 10.

Green top always sends you to the water facility...
@@nvfury13 don't you mean greygarden
Harrison Chauhan yep, mixed up the names there. Though greentop sent me over to the Nation Guard station to clear it...again.
"They're not going to figure out where I am..... they've figured out where I am"
You're the best, Jon. Never change.
"Man I feel like shit, I'm tired, and I got a bunch chem assignments due" *sees this videos* "yeah, I've got time"
Are you doing your chem assignment on how psycho-buff is demonstrably superior to psycho-jet.
I have a research paper to write, I'm feeling this hard rn.
@@keetonfoust I prefer psycho-tats
Love it as usual, but yea, you 10000% have to be crouched for a sneak attack. You can not be standing at all even if you are miles away and completely undetectable.
Witch is stupid, but most games do it this way.
@@light370 you think people can’t see you when your standing up in the middle of the day? Phht. Game logic
I get to turn off my depression for 1 hour and 40 minutes today, thanks Jon ❤️
Only for an hour and forty minutes
Ok emo
@KD6-3. 7 Try living in a third-world country and in a region of that country with a near 50% unemployment rate. Easier said than done mate.

The first legendary radroach spawn's status as "It might be partly guaranteed" is probably the most diplomatic statement ever uttered.
Oh damn you, Jon!!! Closing the door in the way that it trapped that legendary radroach's head on the other side, was absolutely horrifying!!! I didn't need that right before the bed time.
*_HERE'S JOHNNY!_*
A few tips:
Wow, I can''t believe that that suicider came out of nowhere, and I'm shocked Jon managed to survive it.
Yeah, lucky duck
You're all evil.
I remember these types of comments and look forward to seeing them appear again
I was more surprised when he fired the Fat Man at the mirelurk Queen and a bloatfly flew into the path and he escaped with a crippled left arm.
“Ok so I wasn’t expecting [insert randomness here]” is Jon’s natural habitat at this point and I love it
The thumbnail slicing the O in the Once made me see it as You Only Live Uncle in my head
and he's not long for this world, it's the Lumbago ya see...
That sounds like something a character would say in a gritty voice in a parody movie.
Space balls: *you only live uncle.*
Preston: Alright General, here’s a flair gun so we can come help you out if you get in a jam
Jon: oh sweet, meat shields!
Preston: wha...?
I think I have become too invested. I’m 3:30 in and I’m shouting “Pick up the paint you maniac, there’s oil in that!”
It's really heavy!
@@ManyATrueNerd this is America, Oil is everything.
@@ManyATrueNerd but you were so sad about it before!
I also thought abernathy should've been the first minutemen quest. it's got a story, very scenic, more believable that preston heard in passing that they were being harassed, and codswarth even has some flavor dialogue when talking to them, who I might add is only available as a companion after concord. Just seems like a missed layup
"she does have a gas mask, although theres a chance of finding them on raiders all over the shop" JON YOU PASSED BY 2 IN OLIVIA
I was about to go to sleep when I saw the notification. I can handle feeling groggy tomorrow.
That might be the first time I've ever seen the flare gun attempted to be used for its intended purpose.
What other purpose can it be put to, other than vendor trash?
I absolutely love the length of this episode. Please continue making this series into "movies". :)
I've been waiting all day for this..
After nearly the longest week of my life where I went about 4 nights straight with maybe 2 hours of sleep, getting to sit down and watch this really is a great end to my weekend. Thanks Jon
Quiet, half spoken words as you creep around Corvega, then - "COORN!" - and back to quietly sneaking around.
He didn't even react that way to the toy car he picked up seconds before, which has screws!
Jon: "I need a gear."
Also Jon: *passes directly over adjustable wrench after looking at it for two seconds*
Jon: "We're not going into Lexington."
Also Jon: *immediately goes directly into the most dangerous part of Lexington*
Preston Garvey, the bridge troll.
I love watching these as they come out, it kills the tension when you know there's like 20+ parts left
That legendary radroach freaked me the hell out. I didn't know they could be that massive
Just a reminder that even if this all goes perfectly, Jon is guaranteed to die in the beginning of Nuka World Between the Rad Room and the Gas Room
It's not a no hit run it's only live once, he can get through if everything does go perfectly
Not guaranteed death but it's unavoidable damage and rads. He could make it through though
hazmat suit makes both a small insignificant problem. Yeah, fun fact the hazmat suit gives immunity to the gas in the gas room.
It is that western park in Nuka World that I am anxiously awaiting, WarriorMan. Ohhh... the sheer entertainment value is through the roof! lol
@@MEGURMAN even if everything goes perfectly he can turn the three valves before he it takes out like a quarter of his health.
I've been looking forward to this all week! Good luck, Jon :)
this series having episodes this long just aint fair, i dont feel like i deserve to be this blessed
"The magic box will never betray you." It is now only a matter of time until the magic box betrays us.
jon: the chance of someone finding a body is getting higher and higher
forgets that you can drag bodies
I'm loving this series, thanks for these !
Good stuff.
It's a glitch, he didn't use it in his survival run and he won't use it here.
@@warfieldgaming4858 I like to think of glitches as "features" in Bethesda games! Lol
I think he may have the mod in his inventory
@@VanBourner nope, otherwise it would have been "attach mod" instead of "build"
@@danilorando5114 ah fair enough.
That legendary Radroach spawns if you have the mission activated. Im loving this series brother. It popped up on my suggested, and instantly thought "is this guy out of his mind" now i know for sure ..... YOUR OUT OF YOUR MIND. It takes balls to attempt this run bro
Damn Jon, you weren't kidding when you said they'd be feature length!
jon forgetting to flip from his Skill clothes to his combat armor? now that's Fallout YOLO
Jon, you're spoiling us with these 1hr+ videos.
I love how the ghoul had a human voice when talking about the meat factory! XD
That always happens whenever the game makes that guy a ghoul. I guess they just never bothered to make sure only humans can spawn for that event.
Since I will NEVER attempt this, this LP has been wicked fun to see and enjoy 100% stress free (For US lol).
Jon: I need gear
Also Jon: doesn't grab adjustable wrench
Out of context Jon quotes: "Okay, what we're gonna do is we're just gonna put our nose inside Olivia...but if it gets dicey at all, I'm pulling out!"
I love these videos, i love the length, I appreciate how much research and time must have gone into all of this. Thank you very much!!
Imagine being on guard duty and suddenly you just hear someone yell COORN from the other room (1:07:20)
“Must be from Ohio”
"Everything's fine, everything's under con-t-r-o-l"
Door explodes.
Jon “and I even found my clean grey suit”
Me “Jon, pick up the blue paint!”
@Jesus Achmed it would give even more if he kept hydrated and well rested when crafting and turning in quests.
I'm pretty sure every rad is 0.1% of your hp bar. So 1000 is lethal just as it always was.
Well I was just rewatching the New Vegas YOLO run when I see the notification for this episode. Definitely in a YOLO mood today
I swear I’ve been more tense watching these videos than most horror game playthroughs I’ve watched.
The musket has no spread, just that loopy shot so it is great for extreme long ranged aimed shots. It was great to kill the lookouts on corvega in my last survival run.
"Everything's fine apart from the explosions"
How reassuring.
Hunting radstags around Abernathy Farm is probably the best starting hunting ground. After that with the double meat book head to taffington boathouse to hunt bloodbugs
In my playthrough of Fallout 4 I immediately got sunglasses, and then either wore them or full face helmets for the rest of the game. Therefore I never noticed that your character actually closes one eye when aiming down the barrel. Neat.
"We are just gonna put our nose inside Olivia...I`m not planning to storm Olivia." Really Jon? XD
It’s ok for him to put his nose in cos he will pull if it gets dicey
@@George-vv5ok 😂👍🏻 obviously
"I have no plan to storm it I will NOT STORM IT" Proccedes to storm it like a one man army. Love it!
Hi! im from spain and it would be great if you could activate the auto subtitles option since it's easier for me to read and listen than just listen. Ty very much
I'm really thankful for John and just his uploads and everything he does for his community. Because I remember how much tuning into a YOLO series on a Sunday evening (and sometimes finishing it Monday morning) got me through tough times.
Update on my own survival mode adventure. After several hours of playing I happened to run into Cricket outside of Diamond City selling a nearly fully upgraded sniper rifle with a silencer and recon scope! I poured all of my caps and sold loot into buying my new baby. I don’t know how it spawned but it would’ve take quite a while for me to be even able to craft something as good as this gun. Now I’ve been slaughtering everything from a distance as I build up McCready’s affinity for his nerfed but still good perk.
Every episode of this series is a treat. Fallout 4 is my first Fallout game and my second Bethesda game. I know that makes me biased against the prior Fallout games, but this will always be close and dear to my heart. Seeing how you tackle this game so cleanly is such a joy.
